Not able to upload document after Installing the RBS on Sharepoint 2010

Posted By:      Posted Date: December 04, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I have installed SharePoinr 2010 on windows server 2008 R2 64 bit. I also Installed & enabled the RBS for SharePoint 2010.

After that I will try to add document in the document library.... then it will not allow me to add. It will show me following exception

The URL 'Shared Documents/AcGenral.doc' is invalid.  It may refer to a nonexistent file or folder, or refer to a valid file or folder that is not in the current Web.

Can anyone plese help me to resolve this isssue.

Thanks, TusharG [There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't]

Upload documents to Sharepoint 2010 Document library

Is there a way to upload documents to an SP 2010 document library with Custom Actions or Workflows?  I have a requirement of taking the contents of several directories (older data files) and uploading them to Sharepoint.  Not sure which actions actually perform this operation.  Any help most greatly appreciated.

Upload a File to a SharePoint Document Library - Part I

The following helper class demonstrates a few techniques that allow documents to be uploaded to a SharePoint document library programmatically without using the API or a custom web service. You don't need to specify a document library name, and it will create any folders specified in the URL as required. File meta data will be updated if any properties are passed.

Installing and configuring SharePoint 2010

The following steps show how to install SharePoint 2010 on VMware workstation 7.0. Host computer used during the preparation of this walk-through was a Vista (32-bit) machine and guest machine used was VMware workstation 7.0 with Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (64-bit).

question on attachments/document upload in SharePoint

Scenario: I have business need where I need to attach some documents to a document library. My users fill out a form, which is a custom List Form in a list called "Request" but on the same form I want to provide my users a document upload feature which will save the document to a document library called "Request Documents".

In other words, request information such as Title, Department, Description etc get saved to "Request List" (SharePoint List) whereas the documents attached/uploaded (if there are any from the user) while filling the same request form out, get saved in the "Request Documents" (SharePoint Document Library) with the same ID #. If Request ID was 100, then the uploaded document(s) in the Document Library should also be 100.

I tried a few techniques out, and I'm reading some more on Data Source Library of SharePoint but I believe I need some help from the community before I do anything further.

Cannot add SQL Server 2008 R2 Report items to SharePoint Server 2010 document library

Using account which is the primary parent site administrator, can upload RDS and RDL files to the document library (however, cannot open report). User is also a domain admin with SA on the database instances. Cannot add Report Data Source with "New Document" icon. The permissions granted to user '[domain]\[user]' are insufficient for performing this operation. Under "Site Settings", "Managed Shared Schedules" fails with same error. Attempting to deploy from BIDS results in the same permissions error. Sharepoint Server 2010, Report Server 2008 R2. RS and SP databases hosted on remote server (SQL Server 2008 R2). All connections (SharePoint services, RS services, users) except SQLAgent authenticating to remote SQL Server with Kerberos (all SPNs look correct). Single site, site collection "/". Document directory called "Reports". Windows Integrated Security (Negotiate). How would I troubleshoot/solve problem?

sharepoint 2010 document conversion job started but never completes

I trigger the conversion of a Word.docx file to convert to PDF but the Job never completes. It just says this under the status column but nothing under the outcome column. I have waited for 48 hours to be sure it just wasn't slow. "Conversion Job with Id=00000000-0000-1064-8041-acbca36dcb07 started" There is nothing in the event log nor in the Sharepoint Log that says there is a problem.

Office 2010 can not integrate with Sharepoint Server 2010 document library, both RTM

Hi I have one standalone SharePoint Server 2010 and Office 2010 on Windows Server 2008 SP2. Both SharePoint and Office are RTM. When I create new document from the document library, it can open the Office Word.  When I save the document, Office gives me the local browser dialog other than remote sharepoint library. When I try to enter the sharepoint site url in the dialog, it tells me: path does not exist. On another machine, Windows 7, the Office 2010 RTM can open and save docs from/into the document library. There seems something wrong with the Office client. Maybe someone can tell me how to fix it. Thanks. how do I pass in a standard xml+xsl to be converted through the Sharepoint 2010 Document Conversion

How do I pass in a standard xml+xsl to be converted through the Sharepoint 2010 Document Conversion? Via the SDK I have been able to code a c# workflow that converts word files in a Sharepoint 2010 Document Library (docx, dox, word.xml) to PDF successfully but want to pass in an xml+xsl file to this engine if possible. Actually I have xml, xsl, and if needed xsl-fo files to deal with but would be happy if I could figure out how to make the Document Conversion engine do the xml+xsl transform and then send that to a doc file in Sharepoint.

"This document could not be checked out." SharePoint 2010 checkout action using IE8

I am setting up a two-server farm, and most everything works, except the checkout action for a document.  This problem occurs in both site collections, one of which requires checkout, and the other does not. Here are the options I've tried: Snow Leopard, Firefox 3.0.1 - works Snow Leopard, Safari - works Win 2003, IE 7 - works XP, Firefox - works XP, IE 8 - "This document could not be checked out.  You may not have permission to check out the document or it is already checked out or locked for editing by another user." In IE8, I am able to open a document as read only then use the button presented by Word to check out the document.  I cannot use that as a workaround, as not all users have a version of Office that will allow checkout in that way. Checkin works fine.  I need to resolve the checkout error.
