I have an aspx page for a user to fire off a mail merge. I'd like them to choose a .html file from a document library in Sharepoint, then choose a contact list, and then have it fire off the mail merge.
The mail merge part is done and works from a console application with the .html file location hardcoded, and the contact list hard coded.
What I need is a way to add a documents browser onto the .aspx page. I can't see any obvious control I can drop on to achieve this though.
Ideally I would drop on a <Sharepoint:DocumentsBrowser> control, point it at a given ListId in sharepoint, and at runtime Sharepoint would display a nice shared documents type documents browser. Is this possible?
I'm wondering if this is possible. I only want a person to be able to view a certain shared document if they are a member of BOTH groups A and B (the intersection fo the two groups)
If they are a member of ONLY group A OR ONLY group B they won't be able to see it. They must be members of BOTH groups.
Is this possible?
I'm trying to add the Shared Documents "web part" that is part of the default Team Site template to a custom site template. However, from what I've found this is not really a web part for Shared Documents, but a generic List View web part with Shared
as the data source. Also, I don't see where this is listed in the onet.xml file of the Team Site template (which I believe is the "sts" template, correct?). Also, you cannot export/download the xml for this webpart from the page and when it is
viewed via SP Designer, the way it is defined is not supported in an onet.xml file.
So how do you add this webpart to a site template?
I have a situation that is making me crazy !! I have a content type that inherits from Document set. I have set some fields (metadata) in the document set and configured the document
set to share it with documents inside it.
All the fields are being shared (inherited) to the documents inside the document set except for the lookup fields
I have 2 lookup fields that looks for information from a SharePoint list.
I'm using SharePoint 2010.
Hey Every body
I have a very strange problem. Our Company has a Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server 2007 solution running as our company Intranet solution.
We have a solution where outside users, can gain access to a workspace site on Sharepoint where diffrent people can work together on projects that involves both out side users and internal staff.
We have a folder called shares documents here we can upload documents that we want the other memebers off this workspace too see.
The problem is that internal staff can open up Word documents directly, but the external users are not able to open up directly these Word documents. Word just sayes that that is is unabel to open up the word document.
But when the users download the documents instead it works fine.
I have tries with both offcie 2003 and office 2007 and the problem is the same. But if i try to open up these documens via Open Office the problem due not exits, then is works fine. Why does Microsoft Word have these problems?
And is it just when the external users are opening up the documents directly from the sahred Documens folder that we have this problem.
The external users are connecting to our Citrix Netscaller security solution for authenticating purpoes first, after they have been validated through this solution, they ar
Does anyone know the exact location of \\server01\DavWWWRoot\Marketing\Shared Documents in my local drive C:? I tried searching for the said folder but sqlserver01 can't find the exact location of it.
Is it possible to add a new folder to my Shared Documents (SharePoint) from my network shares? Let's say i have this \\10.238.150.94\My Pictures and i want to add this folder to my Shared Documents.
I've read 1 article and already tested it, and it works for me to connect reporting services with SharePoint List
But my concern now with the same approach how can i connect to SharePoint Document Library (Shared Documents)
I've 1 shared document link, inside there we store all the pdf image that we scan. and each image created we define field/attribute at Edit Properties. Meaning we just not store the pdf image but also information input.
I've contact the owner of blog for long time but no response. Please advise Thanks in advanced.
Im using : SharePoint 2007, SQL 2005 & Visual Studio 2005
I'm trying to find a way to move to parent folder inside Shared Documents webpart .
this tutorial it's only mentioned the SharePoint-wide UP button, but is there a way to move to parent folder (of the document library, of course) inside the
non-maximized Shared Documents webpart?
SharePoint 2007 standard- sql2005.
I restored a production database backup at a test server. all metadata are correct at the browser. But, I get the SharePoint service account user stamps and time of the database
restore at the SharePoint designer.
I need to recover few documents with their actual meta data. Copying in SharePoint designer works but it transfers the meta data that I see in designer.
I have a document set with shared columns docset1, sharedcol1, sharedcol2. My document set is made up of another content type (subdoctype1) that does not have sharedcol1, and sharedcol2, but they are shared via the doc set.
How do I add sharedcol1 and sharedcol2 to quick parts in the word doc?
If I create a document in the set of subdoctype1 and go to insert->quick part->Document Property I do not see the shared columns. If I save the document and re-open it I do see the shared columns. How can I add the shared columns to a template
with no values? It seem like I need an actual instance of the doc set with my sub-document type to exist before I can use it.
I am trying to develop a web part to filter a list of PDFs dynmanically.
the plan is to have a series of drop down selections to create the search string (the files have an odd naming convention) so people who arent familliar with the naming convention can find the files. This part is easy.
how can I use this search string to filter shared documents (preferably with some wildcards thrown in)
any ideas? perhaps Im going about this the wrong way. Im open to suggestions.
What's the best, least time-consuming way to add (basic, out-of-box) Excel in the 'New Document' dropdown menu in the "Shared Documents" library? This is Sharepoint 2010. I tried to add it from library settings->content types->add from existing site
content types, but it's not in the 'available site content types' window. Thanks in advance for your time and help!
