I'm currently busy with an overview of Best Practices for developing accessible web sites in SharePoint 2007. After a little research I have noticed that the challenges I have faced so far are mostly XHTML/CSS/JS related and there are actually very few SharePoint 2007 specific issues: this has to do with the fact that we use very little to none of standard SharePoint controls in the Internet facing web sites we deliver.
As I would like to share the Best Practices I'm writing with the community I've been wondering whether you have tried to develop an accessible web site in SharePoint 2007 yourself and faced any challenges you would like to share. To make myself clear I'm looking for issues and challenges and not solutions in particular (these are welcome as well by the way).
Not able to display Memberships as well as "SharePoint Documents" in My Site/My Profile even if user is in default Members group of some site in a web application. Explicitly ran the User Profile to SP Sync jobs multiple times - job says "succeeded"
but nothing happens.
Appreciate any advice in this regard.
The group work site comes with that really nice list using it's custom content type and so on, I'm interested in being able to create that same list onto other sharepoint 2010 sites instead of having to use it only as the default list from that template.
Thank you for your help.
Sorry, I've just realised I posted this in the wrong area. If a mod/admin could move this, I would greatly appreciate it
I have been working towards setting up FBA on my Sharepoint 2010 Foundation server, hosted by Rackspace. But while setting up .net user roles I get all manner of strange behaviour like messages about trust relationships, and have to edit the GAC.
Now, I have managed to lock myself out of all of my sites (Including central admin), which, as you can imagine, is rather frustrating.
This isn't a mission critical server, but it would be nice to have it back online today. So if anyone knows a bit about setting up FBA, ask away and I can give any information that you require, and if necessary, I'm happy have a chat on Windows Live.
EDIT: Spelling mistakes
We have sharepoint 2010 internet facing sites where inside custom master page we have security trimmed control which hides site actions for general users.
Now we have anonymous access enabled. So any body can access this site.
Now even if user is author or from intranet , he can not see site actions as we do not have any sign in link.
How to automatically show site actions to users from intranet and with proper rights and hide siteactions to anonymous users?
my custom branding master page is applying to the newly created site collection or sub sites using feature stapling.

I am a SharePoint developer. I work in a company that develops and deploies SharePoint Solutions for Intranet sites.
Now, we have a customer that requires SharePoint Server 2010 for Internet Sites. I have read some things about it, but I am still unsure about the SharePoint for Internet Sites deployment.
The informations I have found are not enough to understand it very well, so, I would like someone helps me.
What does exactly SharePoint Server 2010 differ from SharePoint Server 2010 for Internet Sites?
Is SharePoint Server 2010 for Internet Sites SKU the same than SharePoint Server 2010 one?
http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/en-us/buy/Pages/Licensing-Details.aspx Provides some information about SharePoint 2010 licenses. There, we can find:
"The Server only licensing model is for external users only. Internal users can use this license only if all content, information, and applications are also accessible to external users. If the server has items that are for internal use
only, those users require CALs, and their servers require licenses for SharePoint Server 2010."
But, how can we do those restrictions? Using SharePoint permissions? How does Microsoft check it?
Does SharePoint Server 201
I would like to get ideas, hints or suggestions on implementing following scenario,
Create a WCF service, host in SharePoint 2010 Form Based Authentication using SQL Membership Provider enabled site collection and consume that service from another seperate asp.net web application such that whenever items in document library is inserted/updated
using one of service methods, ModifiedBy field is automatically reflected based on the user who call that service method.
Thanks in advance!
