i defined term set in the term store tool (managed metadata). For some terms there ar synonyms ("Other labels").
Should the search by a synonym get the same results as the primary label of the term?

I am customizing the XSLT for the core results webpart to give the user the option to sort search results by a certain managed property. There are several managed properties that I am listing on the search results page, and when the user clicks one, it should
sort the results by that property.
In MOSS 2007, you could use the "v=property" parameter in the URL to define the sort order, but this doesn't seem to work anymore in SharePoint 2010. Are there any ideas on how to accomplish this?
There is a "Term.CustomProperties" collection to get the collection of custom property objects for the current Term object from the read-only dictionary.
But where and how to define and set custom properies for terms? This dictionary seems to be read-only by default.
Any help / documentation would be appreciated. / Frank
I´m using SharePoint 2010s Search Service to get items from a list. In the list I have managed metadata field for Item. When I search on Item "Item 1 & 2" I get xml that is incorrect. SharePoint does not escape the &. (The mapping is correct
so when I search on an item not containg & it returns correct xml.)
But if I in my description field writes "A description & some more text" then & is escaped.
Anyone seen this before? Is there some way to configure the search service to escape forbidden signs to return none broken xml?
I created two columns in my page content type.
One is a text filed called ArticleId and the second is a managed metadata field called product.
I added both columns to the property of the advanced search WP xml and I tested my search results.
When I put a value in the ArticleId property, the search returns all the pages that their property AriticleID
matchs the value entered.
After creating a search of items in our public folders, File folders and current Sharepoint 2010 environment I am trying to extract a list of words that we can review with others to create a better term set. However I don't see a way in the GUI to
export such words from the search services.
Can someone point me in the right direction to pull these words out of the search store or at least how to create an administrative report that we can use over and over again to pull these words for review when we think we need to update our term set store?
Thanks in Advance,
I want to search a custom field in a SharePoint list by using the Advanced Search page. I followed this post http://interdata.cl/?p=368 and i was able to find all metadata properties without any blank. For example, I´ve created columns called
"Baseline", or "Milestone" and it works properly, but for example, "Document Code" doesn´t works.
The field shows up correctly in the Advanced Search properties, but whenever I do a search trying to specify my custom property I get the error message: "Your search cannot be completed because of a service error. Try your search again or contact your administrator
for more information.".
if I look at the Managed property in Central administration, it tells me "Number of objects with this property: more than 350", so the data is mapped correctly to the property.
Thanks in advance,
