Updating Task Lists and Form Libraries From Workflow Form

There are actually two separate (I think) problems here. The scenario: I used the SharePoint Designer 2007 to create a workflow attached to a form library. When a form is submitted to the library, a To-Do-Item is created on a task list. The To-Do-Item is initially assigned to a GROUP. A user from the group then selects the name of an individual from a choice list in edit item. This person now becomes the Assigned To for the task.

What is needed is 1) To update the Assigned To column of the Form library when someone in the GROUP assigns the task to an INDIVIDUAL; and 2) To have the Due Date from the submitted InfoPath form propagate to the task list.

I've tried having one workflow try to do everything and also having a secondary workflow set up on the task list to do the task assignment update but have not been successful in solving either issue. I don’t think that I am really understanding how to Define Workflow Lookup when not working with the Current Item. I know what fields I want but I don’

Task Lists . Orphan Event Handlers

I wonder what are these empty event handlers that swarm in Task Lists with IDs 32767 ?

I think they can be a reason why my Announcements dont work from such lists. And wf dont autostart also (autostart on creation).

SSIS 2005 - Send Mail Task - signature appended to email is garbled - unicode problem?

Hi, I'm pretty new to SSIS so go easy on me. I have a Send Mail Task to notify if a file cannot be imported - the mailbody is created on the previous step by a VB.NET script task to include the name of the file and the path it's been archived to. The problem I'm having is that while the body of the email I've created is displaying fine, our company's Exchange server appends a signature to all emails, and this is coming up as undisplayable characters, presumably due to some kind of unicode encoding problem. I've tried casting the email body in an expression to DT_STR (doesn't work as DT_STR "cannot be converted to a supported type" which seems a bit odd but never mind), DT_WSTR (garbled signature), DT_TEXT/DT_NTEXT (strange error on this one - "Attempted to read or write protected memory") none of those ideas worked, and I'm a bit stumped now. Can anyone help? I'm using SSIS 2005 with SP3

How to stop the mail trigger while editing a task list item in sharepoint 2007

I have a requirement to stop the mail trigger while editing a task list item in SharePoint 2007. When I am creating a task the mail is sending to the “Assigned to” Properly. But when I am editing the same task item again a mail is sent to the Assigned to user which I want to stop. Is there any out of box feature / settings to stop this mail trigger while editing. Early response is much appreciated.Deeptyranjan

SSIS Send Mail Task - Failure Sending Mail

SSIS Send Mail Task - Failure Sending Mail

Hi Everyone, Hopefully someone out there will have an idea as this is driving me nuts. I've setup a task to email on success/failure and keep receiving the following message when executed: Progress: The SendMail task is initiated. - 0 percent complete[Send Mail Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Failure sending mail.". Progress: The SendMail task is completed. - 100 percent completeTask Send Mail Task failed When I configure Outlook Express on the same machine with the same settings it works. On the SMTP Connection Manager I have left the default name, tested with both an IP address and Server Name, and no authentication or SSL. On the Send Mail Task, it uses the above connection. The To: , From: , Subject  fields are populated. Message SourceType is DirectInput, MessageSource is Test, Priority is Normal and no attachments or expressions etc. Nothing useful is logged in the Event Viewer even with full logging turned on. Any suggestions appreciated, Thanks.

Is it possible for a sharepoint VIEW to aggregate multiple TASK LISTS?

I have a few TASK LISTS, each with identical structure, that can't be combined initially, based on the groups that control the task lists.  ALL Task Lists reside on the same SITE.  I would like to find a way to "UNION JOIN" multiple task lists under a single Tasks List VIEW, if that can be done.  Alternately, is there a WEB PART that can do this?

Is there a way to merge multiple similar-structured task lists within a single site - and if so, how would it be done?

Send Mail Task Error

i am using send mail task in a package which is giving me the error below.

Error: 2010-10-03 18:01:42.96

   Code: 0xC002F304

Source: Notify Success Send Mail Task

Description: An error occurred with the following error message: "Error in p\

executing query in send mail task

I need to execute a select statement in a send mail task in SSIS. I can send regular emails using this task, but is is possible to send a select statement through? I have tried xp_sendmail, but we are not allowed to turn this feature on, and  I have tried reporting services, but the service is not installed. Lots of road blocks... LOL

If this is not possible, please recommend an alternative...

Any help would be appreciated

Policies are not enabled on e-mail contacts generated by SP2007 e-mail enabled lists

Hi all,

at a customer I have the following situation. We have a SharePoint 2007 Farm together with Exchange 2010. Whenever we enable a list for incoming e-mail the corresponding Exchange mail contact is created. So far, so good. But one of the properties of this e-mail contact is the toggle  "Automatically update e-mail addresses based on e-mail address policy" is not set. This is an issue because default it only gets a .local address and that is not enough.

Whenever I add an e-mail contact by hand this toggle is set. So I suppose that the way SharePoint sets this account differs from doing it by hand. Has anyone come accross this problem. Does someone have a solution or workaround.

Event Handler (send mail task) firing multiple times for each dataflow error - How can I stop the da

I've set up an OnError event handler for my package which sends an email containing the name of the file that fails import through my dataflow task. The problem is the dataflow experiences three errors (one for each task it is attempting to complete) which in turn causes three duplicate emails to be sent.

I'd prefer to stop the dataflow task completely rather than allow it to try to complete the remaining tasks after the first error. Is this possible? Alternately, how can I set up my event handler to only send one email regardless of the number of dataflow errors that occur?

Thanks in advance!

Send Mail Task Delivery Notification

I am using a send mail task in my ssis package. Is there a way to get a delivery notification. Thanks.

Create a task list from existing task lists based on field values

Hi!  I have a bunch (~10) of different task lists corresponding to different projects; each list has a mixture of Statuses, i.e., some completed, some In Progress, some Not Started.  I'd like to create a (preferably dynamically updated) single task list consisting of all the incomplete tasks from each of the project lists.  After much trial and error (I'm still a relative newbie with DB stuff; even more so w/ Sharepoint stuff) I figured out how to do this by viewing the lists in Access and creating a query which resulted in the compiled list I describe above; however, when I clicked on the "Publish" to Sharepoint button and returned to Sharepoint default view, I couldn't find this new list anywhere (e.g., the new, empty list I had created and changed to Access view, and from which I imported the other lists and created my query, was empty, and my list of task lists in the left side-bar didn't have my query-result-list).

How do I do what I want, w/ or w/out Access?  Thanks!
