When try to open a folder in a moss 2007 document library in Explorer View, the folder does not open.
I am using IE7 and the path of the folder does not contains more than 100 characters.
Also it opening on few on the machines which has IE7.
Recently upgraded from Office 2007 to 2010. Some days after install started to receive a message 'you need to activate this product' every time I opened an Office application. My IT guys did the ncessary to activate Office 2010, but
since then my site selection (tab) button on any Sharepoint page will not open the drop-down menu and I cannot change the view of any document library to 'Explorer View'.
I've been looking in forums and other sources and can see this is a known issue with IE8, but when it happened to me, I was using IE7. The only trigger I can see is the activation of Office 2010
Anyone had similar experience and anyone aware of a fix?
Issue Description : Keywords from certain folders in the Document Library is not searchable via full text search. For example, the keyword
“4MB7106” is not searchable, even though the document is available in the document library. This is content search in a file in a document library, NOT a file name. Any ideas?
Using Visual Studio 2010, I right-click on SharePoint Connections in Server Explorer and select "Add Connection..." My SharePoint 2010 site is on the same machine, so I enter http://localhost. (I've also tried the actual machine name,
http://sp2010dev.) The connection is created with the root site at the top and all the nodes underneath (ContentTypes, Features, etc.). Some of the nodes I can expand (e.g. List Templates expands to show different List Template types; Lists and
Libraries expands to show Document Libraries and Lists). But then when I try to expand further, I get an error message that states the following:
Unable to retrieve information for this node, possibly because the node has been deleted or its connection disrupted. If the item exists in SharePoint, be sure it is accessible
I have not found any information about this error, and I've exhausted all attempts to permissions above what I've already created.
...also when Office documents are saved to document library they open as Read-only and cannot be saved back to the same document library.
This only happens in my production SharePoint 2007 environment from client XP and IE7 machine. It does not happen in developement environment (which mirrors
production) from client XP/IE7 machines.
Save works fine to SharePoint document libraries from client Win 7 and IE8 machines in both production and development environments.
This only happens when attempting to save to a My Site Personal Documents document library. Any other document library this behavior does not exist from XP
or Win 7 machine.
What settings controls ones ability to save to a personal My site document library. What setting could be different between prod and dev installations?
It only happens
When I click on a pdf document uploaded in a document library it comes up with a blank page.
I guess it's trying to open pdf on the browser. I turned off "Display PDF in browser " option in Adobe Preferences, but it doesn't help, same issue.
I tried other browsers too, it's the same issue.
I am able to open all other pdf files local to my machine fine.
I am using IE 8 on my machine (Windows 7) and the Sharepoint server is MOSS 2007.
When a user, who uses Dragon NaturallySpeaking, says "new" when viewing a Document Library the default content type is selected and the associated application (e.g. Microsoft Word) is launched. This scenario is okay for Content Type selection since
the Microsoft Office applications will prompt for the metadata once the file is saved.
If the user needs to create new folders in the Document Library however they need to expand the "new" dropdown menu.
What is the best way for someone using Dragon NaturallySpeaking to expand the "new" menu for a Document Library in SharePoint?
