Issue showing custom actions in BDC

Posted By:      Posted Date: December 04, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

For some reason, the custom actions defined in the application definition file doesnt show up in my site at all. It was working fine before. I added few more entities and added few more columns to the result set. Now it is not showing me any actions on the screen. Just simply 'No Actions'. Not only the application I modified, even other applications are not showing any actions. The ADF uploaded succeffully though. I did not find any article related to this so far.

Please let me know if there is any other configurations I need to check.

Custom SPD workflow actions not showing in prod enviornment

We have developed some SharePoint designer workflow actions and in our production enviornment we get the behavior where the Custom actions show up in the actions list but when select the associated sentence text with paramters is not displayed.  We have double (and triple) checked that the actions files and the assembly signatures match - the SAME files have been installed in another environement and everything works. We believe we have tracked it down to when SharePoint Designer makes a call to the site collection web service webpartpages.asmx - GetAssemblyMetaData the client machine (with SharePoint Designer running) is not getting a full response to this call.  Any thoughts / ideas are appriciated!  Rob Roach

Custom Search issue with freetext

Hi All,

My Environment : MOSS 2007 (sp2) with SQL Server 2005

I have a custom search webpart which uses FullTextSqlQuery to fetch the results from Index. I have a some keywords and a free text boxt to build the search query. Poeple enter their query by selecting the keywords and enter some free text into the text box.

Issue : When any PDF document (Not tested with .Doc) is searched using custom webpart with the numbers like "2,0233.21" I do not get any results returned even though the results are returned using the SharePoint out of box full text search. But when I search the content like "2+0233+21" I get results both in Out of box and in custom search webpart.

Requirement: The Custom search should be able to find the document when numbers like "2,0233.21" are entered. It should work exactly like the out of box search.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Custom SSIS Data Flow Component Not Showing in Toolbox or GAC

Hello - I have created a very simple data flow component for SSIS (Actually, I am following this example:  http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=1C2A7DD2-3EC3-4641-9407-A5A337BEA7D3&displaylang=en).  However, when I register the DLL to the GAC, I am unable to find the assembly in C:\Windows\Assembly - even though the GACUTIL says "Assembly Registered Successfully".  Furthermore, after copying the DLL to the PipelineComponents folder for SSIS (C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\PipelineComponents), it does not show in the "Choose Items . . ." dialog box of SSIS.   I am running SQL Server 2008 Dev edition, Visual Studio 2010 with .NET 4.0, and Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit edition.  Any assistance/thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Calculated measures, calculated cells, and custom rollups issue

Hi,  I'm a little bit confused according to the purpose of Calculated measures, calculated cells, and custom rollups as they lead practically to the same goal, is there any differnce between those modes from a technical point of view. And for the last one, the custom roll up the question how to perform this, I need a walkthrough that lead me to undersand the way to set a custom roll up to a given dimesion, I visited microsoft site but the inforamtion that I have is poor, so is there any other source that exposes that as a step by step example? Thank youThe complexity resides in the simplicity

Issue with custom Redirect PageLayout

Hi, I have duplicated RedirectPageLayout.aspx to create custom redirect page layout. In my custom redirect page layout, i have linked my custom content type.  From my root website, when I try to create redirect page from my custom redirect page layout, in a edit mode it shows Redirect URL control to get the URL to redirect. But from any sub site, when I try to create redirect page from my custom redirect page layout, in a edit mode it doesn't show "Redirect URL" control to get the URL to redirect. Please let me know about how to fix this. or let me know some alternative way to do it. Regards, Prakashwww.aristonsoft.com - .net 3.5 hosting provider in India

Custom actions and URL tokens when working with the Ribbon

I'm trying to add a new item to the Ribbon using a custom action in a VS SP2010 project. The new action shows up where we want it but the problem we are facing is that tokens like {ItemId} or {SelectedItemId} are not parsed when used in the CommandAction attribute. I would like to use these tokens and construct a URL pointing to an application page we've created. In the same way one can do using UrlAction when adding custom actions to the ECB menu (this is working fine in our project). The custom action below simply prints out different tokens. When run it seems like the tokens {SiteUrl},{SelectedListId} and {SelectedItemId}are parsed but for me both SelectedListId and SelectedItemId are null. Are there any other tokens that can be user or is there a better way to get hold of the item and list for the context? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/"> <CustomAction Id="{1f2da003-2069-4d4a-8fc5-1deeb98ecdda}" Location="CommandUI.Ribbon" Sequence="20"> <CommandUIExtension> <CommandUIDefinitions> <CommandUIDefinition Location="Ribbon.ListForm.Display.Manage.Controls._children"> <Button Id="{ca157255-5ef3-4f1c-bcb6-6ff5ff7610fe}" Command="{7887e42e-

Permissions issue for custom web service in the _vti_bin folder.

Hello, I have created a custom ASMX webservice that returns in JSON format so that I can call the data from JQuery on SharePoint page content.  I placed it in the ISAPI (_vti_bin) folder and it works just fine when I go directly to the web service and call it the way JQuery calls it: /_vti_bin/ServiceabilityCheck.asmx/GetSystemIDByZIPCode?ipaddress= Which returns: <string>{"SystemID":"5"}</string> When I try to call it from the SharePoint site with JQuery, it errors out and gives an unspecified error.  Fiddler shows {"Message":"Authentication failed.","StackTrace":null,"ExceptionType":"System.InvalidOperationException"} as the response from the web service call. When I have the webservice on an IIS web app outside of SharePoint, it works fine.  I have anonymous access enabled on the SharePoint site, why would it give me this error?John Chapman | Blog: http://www.johnchapman.name

Search - How to remove a meta tag ... / custom column is not showing up in Crawled Properties after

Hi I got the following warning after I crawled a site. Info out of Crawl Log: "The content for this address was excluded by the crawler because this item was marked with a no-index meta-tag. To index this item, remove the meta-tag and recrawl." Sound easy but I don't no where I could do it. The other problem is that I try to get a custom column from a custom list showing up in the crawle properties. I am using also a custom scope with the behavior "INCLUDE" ... In MOSS 2007 it was a lot simpler ;-) Thanks Regards MIA

Issue with custom condition

I'm running MOSS on a VPC image and spent quite a bit of time this weekend trying to figure out why my data selections wouldn't 'stick' in my interface. After rebooting about 4 times, they finally stuck (no restarting SPD multiple times didn't help).  So, now onto my next issue, an error when I select Finish on the workflow wizard.   When I check for errors, there are no errors. However, whenever I click finish I get the following error:   (0, 0) Activity 'ID3' validation failed: Property "Condition" has invalid value. Condition expression is invalid. No method named "CheckFleetCredit" was found that takes 5 arguments.)   I would say this error is pretty obscure. Here is my .actions file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <WorkflowInfo>        <Conditions>        <Condition Name="Check Fleet Credit"               FunctionName="CheckFleetCredit"               ClassName="FleetCreditCheck.CreditCheck"               Assembly="FleetCreditCheck, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=909d7cb5c760d41f"               AppliesTo="all"               UsesCurrentItem="true">        <RuleDesigner Sentence="Fleet credit amount %1, lower limit is %2">               <FieldBind Id="1" Field="_1_" DesignerType=&quo

Character spacing issue SSRS 2005 custom font

Create 2 custom actions as one

Hi, In the custom actions in SharePoint designer 2010 it's possible to set: Navigate to a form / start a workflow / navigate to a url. Is it possible to set in one custom action: start a workflow and then navigate to a url...? (i want to start a workflow which create a wiki page and then navigate to this new page, all in one custom action. i didn't find a way to do those 2 steps in a workflow, since it may create the page but it doesn't open it... and on the other hand i didn't find a way to set a URL which creates the new page in the wiki library...) thanks!

Adding Custom Actions to Ribbon UI in InfoPath forms

Hi experts, - I have a custom List in my site. - I have modified the default SharePoint List forms (DispForm.aspx, EditForm.aspx and NewForm.aspx) using InfoPath 2010, changes being related to the layout of input controls. - Then I wish to add a custom action (a print button - for printing based on modified layout) in the Ribbon Control of these InfoPath modified forms (i.e. displayifs.aspx, editifs.aspx, newifs.aspx). - I am doing the following http://www.endusersharepoint.com/2010/02/19/adding-custom-actions-to-the-ribbon-ui-in-sharepoint-2010-using-sharepoint-designer-2010/ but i guess, it only forms for the SharePoint List forms and not the Infopath modified forms. Any suggestions on how to add a custom action of 'Print' on the Ribbon UI of the list forms. Is there any other better approach? Kindly advise. -Pallz.
