center two buttons horizontally in form in C#

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 27, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Windows Application
I have two buttons that are side by side. I want to center them such that they are equal distance from the left and right sides of the form. I want to do this at design time. This was easy to do in VB6. Not sure how to do this in C#.  If this isn't easily done at design time, how do I do this at runtime?

How do I center a form for printing using printform?

I am developing an application in VB 2010 Express and want to center the form on a landscape page.

To set landscape I am using:

PrintForm1.PrinterSettings.DefaultPageSettings.Landscape = True

Could also set the left margin in a similar way but is there a property that automatically centers?

IE 9 Beta & InfoPath 2007 Form Radio Buttons Not Working

Has anyone else come across the IE9 bug that causes the radio buttons in the InfoPath 2007 forms to stop working (i.e. unselectable)?

Did you find a workaround (other than not to use IE9!)?

2 buttons, 1 form, 1 error

Ok, newbie question here...

I have a form with two submit buttons, each required to fire a different event.

Basically the form loads, some data is input by the user, and the first submit button is clicked. The btnSubmit.OnClick event runs and if it meets some condition, a gridview is displayed, and user is asked to confirm their selection before proceding. That's when btnConfirm.OnClick needs to run.

But it won't compile and I get the error...

error BC30506: Handles clause requires a WithEvents variable defined in the containing type or one of its base types.

I don't particularly want to post to another page - I'd like to keep it all on a single page.

Any ideas?

Gridview with Radio Buttons

As now, Radio buttons are HTML controls, I am not able to get it on server side. When user select any radio button and press submit, Control will not available at code behind, you can use "e.Item.FindControl" as it is not "runat='server'". I want ID "Primary Key" value for selected radio button. To achive this I took the help of Javascript. I wrote javascript function that sets the values of "Primary Key" in hidden field when user clicks on any radio button. Now when user clicks on Submit button, user can get selected value froim hidden field.

JQuery Validate plugin to validate a ASP.NET Form

The first time I used the JQuery Validate plugin, it did not work at all, see JQuery Validate odd behaviour with the ASP.NET Script Manager for reason, but perseverance and stubbornness prevailed and I finally created my first JQuery validated ASP.NET Forms contact form.

How to use getElementById to get the elements in a form

There are many ways of accessing form elements, of which the easiest is by using the cross-browser W3C DOM document.getElementById method. Before we learn more about this method, it would be useful to know something about the Document Object Model (DOM), the concept of HTML nodes or elements, and the concept of containers.

Each time you load an HTML page, the web browser generates an internal representation of the page in the form of an inverted tree structure. Let us look at a simple form. We will use this form later to demonstrate the use of the getElementById method.

Centering an img in a div both horizontally and vertically

I realize this is simply an HTML question, but I'm having a difficult figuring out the CSS stuff to center an <img /> tag within a <div> tag.

<div style="width: 180px; height: 180px; padding: 10px; margin-top: auto; margin-bottom: auto;">
  <img src="file" alt="" style="width: 160px; height: 80px;" />

It centers horizontally just fine, but I cannot get it to center vertically within the div.

Can anyone point out what I'm missing???

form feild hints are not displaying for textboxses inside create user wizard?

I'm using following JS code to display input hint box besides the textbox whenever that asp.net textbox receives focus.

I'm doing this for a registration form and all of the textboxes are inside the asp.net create user wizard control.

<script type="text/javascript">
function addLoadEvent(func) {
  var oldonload = window.onload;
  if (typeof window.onload != 'function') {
    window.onload = func;
  } else {
    window.onload = function() {

function prepareInputsForHints() {
	var inputs = document.getElementsByTagName("TextBox");
	for (var i=0; i<inputs.length; i++){
		// test to see if the hint span exists first
		if (inputs[i].parentNode.getElementsByTagName("span")[0]) {
			// the span exists! on focus, show the hint
			inputs[i].onfocus = function () {
				this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName("span")[0].style.display = "inline";
			// when the cursor moves away from the field, hide the hint
			inputs[i].onblur = function () {
				this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName("span")[0].style.display = "none";

Validate form input - Japanese

 I've searched for several hours and haven't come up with a reference - or even many discussions - of how to go about validating Japanese names, addresses, etc. When I lived in Japan websites, atm's etc. required such info to be entered with the roman alphabet but I've seen some websites that are allowing Kanji/Hiragana/Katakana. I haven't tested many of them for validation but one that I did test (after looking at the page source and discovering no client-side validation) allowed me to put this in the name field: J*=123*go^ Neat!

Any pointers/references? Thanks
