Hello there...!

I am using .net framework 3.5 in my project.. and  I have used update panel in each page. And For Loading Progess bar I have used following code

    <script type="text/javascript">

        Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_beginRequest(BeginRequestHandler);

        Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest(EndRequestHandler)

        function BeginRequestHandler(sender, args) {
            var modalDialog = $find('<%= mpp.ClientID %>');

Master Page, web service and Ajax autocomplete extender problem.

 I will appreciate very much any help about this issue.  I have been dealing with it for the last week and I couldn't detail and complete examples about this issue. The problem: I have a text box and ajax autocomplete control extender in my Master Page that it is not working at all.  When I type some characters on the text box it doesn't trigger the autocomplete. I have a web service that contains the function code. I est my code on a single Web Page (No Master Page) and it works perfectly.  Also, it works fine if I include the text box and the extender on the Content Page instead of on the Master Page.  It is important to keep the text box in the Master Page for me. I am using Visual Studio 2008 and ASP 3.5.   tHANK YOU VERY MUCH. here is my code:   MASTER PAGE. <%@ Master Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="MasterPage.master.vb" Inherits="MasterPage" %> <%@ Register assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" tagprefix="ajax" %> <%@ Import Namespace = "System.Data" %> <%@ Import Namespace = "System.Data.SQLClient" %> <%@ Import Namespace = "System.Web.Script.Services" %> <%@ Import Namespace="System.Web" %> <%@ Import Namespace="System.Web.Services&

Loading a Remote Page problem

I have an instance where I need to show a classic ASP page within an ASP.Net page. I didn't want to use an iframe for several reasons, but those aren't the issue here. I searched and searched and finally found some code that would let me do it, available here: http://www.mikesdotnetting.com/Article/49/How-to-read-a-remote-web-page-with-ASP.NET-2.0. I implemented the C# code and found that for the purpose of loading a plain HTML page it works just grand. But, when I try to load a Classic ASP page that way, I get a 500 Server error. The page that I am trying to load works just fine if I load it directly into a browser, or into an iframe, but not using this method.

I'd really like to know what is causing the error so that I can fix it. If I could get the whole error response that the page sends out it would be helpful. I'm just not well-versed in how these classes work deep inside. Should I be setting a user agent or some of the other header values? If so, what should they be set to and how? Any insight would be very appreciated. For completeness, my code follows.

using System;
using System.Data;
using System.Configuration;
using System.Collections;
using System.Web;
using System.Web.Security;

Exception loading page with Ajax enabled WebPart/UserControl ?

The AjaxControl Toolkit has been configured onto our SharePoint 2007 Server, however when we bring up a page with a WebPart+UserControl, we get the following exception:

[4300] Exception Loading CPI RPI WebPart: System.Web.HttpCompileException: c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root\a112516a\152cc84\App_Web_cpirpicalc.ascx.57bd6353.duu1hbuu.0.cs(138): error CS0433: The type 'AjaxControlToolkit.ToolkitScriptManager' exists in both 'c:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\AjaxControlToolkit\3.5.40412.0__28f01b0e84b6d53e\AjaxControlToolkit.dll' and 'c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root\a112516a\152cc84\assembly\dl3\4bec602a\25bcac65_13efca01\AjaxControlToolkit.DLL'

The userControl+Ajax Portion of the WebPart works correctly when brought up under ASP.NET but not SharePoint.

Is there anyway to force this to go to the correct version?

Thanks,

Nikos

-------not using any update panels in masterpages.

-------grid.databind on page load of content page.

any help is really appreciated.

Problem loading data to page with cascading drop down

I have a page that has a cascading drop down.  It works perfectly when I start with an empty page and populate data to save a new row in a db table.  However, when I try to load an existing row to the page, the parent is populated, but the child and cdd are not populated.  During the load, I set the ccd.selectedvalue to a valid value, but by the time the page is rendered, there is no selection. I am sure it is something simple, but just don't see it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Embed Youtube inside Ajax Html Editor- problem

Hi,

When inserting a simple embed of youtube inside the ajax editor, on firefox and chrome problems occur. On the other hand on internet explorer 8 everything works fine. I found this solution http://www.nopcommerce.com/boards/t/4228/bug-in-ajax-html-editor.aspx .

My question is where do I find the DesignPanel.pre.js ?

Thanks,

ASP.NET Proxy Page - Used for Cross Domain Requests from AJAX and JavaScript

The article ASP.NET Proxy Page - Used for Cross Domain Requests from AJAX and JavaScript was added by Aamir Hasan on Thursday, August 19, 2010.

One of the pain points with developing AJAX, JavaScript, JQuery, and other client-side behaviors is that JavaScript doesn't allow for cross domain request for pulling content. For example, JavaScript code on www.johnchapman.name could not pull content

Open different page using Ajax Modal PopUp Extender Control

The article Open different page using Ajax Modal PopUp Extender Control was added by Chintan Dave on Thursday, July 15, 2010.

You May use Modal Popup Extender to open some part of the page as Popup. But there we don't have any property to open other html or aspx page in Popup window.We can do it using IFrame control. What we have to do, just add IFrame control in Panel that

AJAX rating control on DataRepeater problem

Hello.

 I am using a DataRepeater control to display records from a database. I have placed an AJAX rating control in the repeater. The control works fine for the first record in the data repeater but it does not work for the rest of the records. The problem is that the control renders fine on the screen but I cannot click it - the mouse changes when hovering over it, but the control does nothing, not even when I click it. The first item works ok though. Any ideas what could be the problem?

 Thanks a lot

Problem with master page and update panel (I think)

Hello,

the app I am working with is made up of three nested master pages that have the following design:

The first master page ha only realize the HEADER, BODY and FOOTER divs.

The second one specialize the Body content placeholder and divide it in three more layers: NAVIGATOR, PAGE TITLE, BODY CONTENT.

The final layer specialize the BODY CONTENT in PAGE CONTENT and ACTIONS.

In one of my content pages I have (inside the PAGE CONTENT area)

  • 1 Update Panel that contains a gridview object
  • 1 Update Panel that contains some HTML code to show in a PopupModalExtender

The PopupModalExtender can be either triggered from inside the gridView and also from a series of LinkButtons that are in the ACTIONS area.

The problem is that when the PopupModalExtender shows the FOOTER and the ACTIONS areas are not dimmed from the style I apply as background to the modal popup. An example of what I am trying to explain can be viewed in the following screenshot.

Why this is going to happen? Has anybody any suggestion on how to solve this problem?

Thanks a lot
