How to get current page file name?

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 27, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi,

I am trying to get the current page file name that i access to.
Lets say i am at test.aspx page, i want it to return me "test" file name.
I tried to use this.Page.toString(), it returned me "ASP.test_aspx" which is like half correct....
but i would like to get only "test".

2nd question, this.Page.toString() will always return me in a format of ASP.[filename]_[fileextention]?
If that's the case, maybe i can use splilt function to get the file name i want if there aren't any better solution than that.

Thanks!

regards,
weihann.

Launch CMD File From ASPX Page

My organization uses a CMD file to install updated files for a major enterprise application. Currently, we send out an email to users with a link to the file and instructions to run it, BUT inevitably users don't update their machines until their in field and try to start the app.

We're now liking the idea of using an ASPX page to prompt the users to run the updates and to capture the fact that the updates have been run. I realize that we can't capture the success or failure of the update. But we'd like to capture the user accessed the page.

Is it possible to embed into the markup for the page a link to the file on the local intranet that the users can click on to run the file?

The user accessing the page would capture that they did just that. We'd deal with wether or not the update was actually installed or if it failed later with them directly.

Knowing the event occured in user control in current page

Hello,

It is placed there because this needs to be available in all the pages. My user controls raises a even on item clicked. Now, My question is that Is there any way to know that the event has occurred in page_load of the current page in which I am in?

Extra file is included on the Page directive inherits =

Hi;

I am trying to understand where the additional file name is coming from in my Page directives Inherits

attribute like so :

inherits ="Track_Milestones2, App_Web_techsrvcs_track_milestones2.aspx.cdcab7d2"

Is the result of this app being published on my local server at one time or could this

page have been compiled on a server ?

Thanks for your insights !

Consistently running out of page file memory with full text indexer

Using MS SQL Server 2008 SP1 x64 Standard Edtion on Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise, I'm about to full-text index for the first time 1 table and 2 views. The table contains about 250'000 entries with a data space of 180 MB. As soon as I activate the full text indexing, the fdhost.exe task starts to consume slowly but surely all the available page file space (this can be easily watched using the Resource Monitor and the Commit Charge graph on the memory tab). Once all the virtual memory has been consumed, the server becomes unusable since it can't open any new windows any more, and RDP stops working. The machine specs are as follows: 12 GB of RAM 80 GB free on hard disk out of 136 GB 8 CPUs Custom size paging file with sizes between 24 GB - 60 GB (originally, this was system managed size, but then the server ran out of memory sooner) Max SQL server memory set to 6 GB (first 10 GB, then 8 GB) I've set the max fulltext crawl range to 8. During the indexing, the 8 CPUs are bit busy for a while, but not excessively. What is astonishing is that there is almost no use of physical memory during the indexing (I can see an increase from 2 GB to 3 GB which still leaves plenty of RAM available). Does anybody have an idea how I can convince fdhost.exe to consume physical memory and leave the paging memory alone? Or what else can I try?

Read a text file on another server from a web page

How do I read/write a text file on another server from a web page. I get the error "Access to the path '//Server2/mydatafiles/test.txt' is denied". I do not get the error if I am running the browser on the server where the files exist. I think I need to set permissions on the destination server in some way.   Can you help? Thanks

"The file is not checked out" on page Postback

Hi there, I have a Publishing site with the Pages library set to "Require documents to be checked out".  As an administrator or member of the site, when i minimise/restore webparts on my page, then perform a postback operation (via some webpart on my page) i get an error saying:  The file is not checked out.  You must first check out this document before making changes. Its as if during the postback after minimising/restoring a webpart SharePoint wants to save that state! How do I stop this from happening?  Is there a personalization setting i am missing?   P.S. Here is a dummy postback operation if you'd like to test it, just paste it into a CEWP: <a id="Test" href="javascript:__doPostBack('Test','')">Test Postback</a>

CSS - formatting block list items for the current page

I have a sidebar containing an un-ordered list (menu). Each list item is contained in a light grey block when the user hovers over it with the mouse. However I would also like the block to stay grey for the current page that the user is on. I have been looking at free CSS examples to try and solve this problem, but the only so

Hello, In SQL Server 2005, is there any other option(any DMV or DBCC or any other way) to see the page file usage apart from the perfmon counter Paging:%Usage? I know there is a new DMV introduced in SQL Server 2008 for this, but I need information for SQL Server 2005. Regards.

---How can I find a CSS FILE that is related to News page?

Hi everybody, I am trying to customize SP Portal (MOSS 2007) I customized the very first page (Home) using Default.master and Core.CSS. But when I am going to "News page", sites and the other ones the top navigation looks original. What CSS files are responsible for the other pages(News, Doc. Ctr, Reports, search, sites)? How to find out that CSS files? Is there any file schema that exists that I can look at? Thank you.
