Not able to publish an infopath 2010 Web browser form mode, Invalid form template, .xsf file not ref

Posted By:      Posted Date: November 29, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi, i am migrating a infopath 2007 form from a sharepoint 2007 site to infopath 2010 form for a sharepoint 2010 site. I used the design checker to verify the form template ,I got a invalid form template error. So I went to the Resource files tab under the developer section. I edited the context.xml to my current site. After this,the design checker gave no errors.

But when i tried to preview this form, I got an erro saying

"The form template contains files that are not referenced in the form definition (.xsf) file or are referenced more than once."

Can anybody tell me where I went wrong?

Cannot publish InfoPath 2010 form template to SharePoint Server 2010 RC

Hi all, I am MSFT in Vietnam. I created a SharePoint list using InfoPath 2010 RTM 64bit. After publishing it to SharePoint 2010 RC, I see an error message:  Click on button "Show Details" the message is The list schema does not match the schema of this form. Refresh the data source and publish the form again. When I create new item based on published SharePoint list, I can see plain form not browser enabled InfoPath form. I checked InfoPath Form Services, everything seems to be good. What should I do to publish SharePoint list from InfoPath 2010 to SharePoint 2010 as browser enabled form?

file attachment control on infopath 2010 browser form, validating event not fired

If preview within InfoPath 2010, the validating event is fired. But After deploying the form to SharePoint 2010, the validating event does not fire.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Infopath 2010 Browser Based Form Vs Infopath 2010 Filler Based Form Issue

I have created a detailed infopath form that is connecting to multiple sharepoint lists, some of which contain thousands of rows and dozens of columns.  To tailor for the data load i have enabled the form to only pull in data as needed and on some of the lists i have created 5 or 6 data connections to the same list, each only looking at a certain set of data, and as you make your way through the form selecting your options, the data is pulled in. If i preview this form from within Infopath or if i launch it using Infopath filler this works great, the data is pulled through in under a second.  However if i then publish the form to the browser and launch it through the browser, it now takes roughly 30 seconds to pull in the data. My question is therefore this,  Is there something i can do to speed up the way the data is pulled in when launched through the browser?  are there transport protocols i can alter or something like that? maybe config in central admin or infopath config? any help would be gratefully appreciated as if i can not get the form to pull the data in fast through the browser then the whole project is a waste of time as my management team will never go for the solution if it is slow and will get slower as more data is added. thanks

Invalid URL error on InfoPath Form Publish on an External List

I am using SP2010 Enterprise on Windows 7 and SPD 2010 & InfoPath 2010 all on the same machine in test.  I create an External List based on a ECT and Click on the 'Design Forms in InfoPath' icon and 'Item' which drops down from it.  That launches InfoPath Designer 2010 & downloads the form from http://<site>/lists/<mylistname>/Item/template.xsn and sets you up in an edit session.  I can make changes on the form but when I publish via File | Publish | External List (Publish Form To An External List) I get a save prompt for local copy & then an error: The following URL is not valid: http://<site>/lists/<mylistname>/Item/template.xsn  (same URL as it started with during the initial download). I took screen shots of the messages to make sure. Some things I have tried & observations: If I change to an internal Custom List the publish step (to list not external of course) works just fine. I also ran this test launching SPD as Administrator with no difference.  I stopped the System Event Notification service per http://serena-yeoh.blogspot.com/2006/08/infopathformurlnotvalid.html  'net stop sens' with no difference Any ideas are welcome. BTW I notice that this step of launching the InfoPath designer does change the form on the list in Sharepoint albeit slightly -

Deploy infopath 2010 form template to MOSS (saved as Infopath2007 format)

I saw this post on another site and this happened to me as well.  I am trying to create a web form with controls, chose WebForms for Infopath2007 and changed the code to C# for Infopath 2007 and tried to deploy the form to the Infopath forms solution in Central Admin and was unable to do so.  any suggestions?

I have an interesting issue while deploying a VSTO enabled form today. For

some odd reason while performing stsadm -o verifyformtemplate -filename

foobar.xsn, it returned a "FatalError : The form cannot be converted because

it was designed for a later version of InfoPath Forms Services.".

Has anyone else tried deploying a InfoPath 2010 form with managed code in a

MOSS environment?? I'd hate to go back to InfoPath 2007, I love the new

ribbon. :D

Is it possible to convert an InfoPath 2010 Filler form to an InfoPath 2010 Web Browser form?

I have built an InfoPath Filler form that I deployed to a SharePoint 2010 Form Library.  While deploying, I checked that the form could be opened up using a web browser.  I receive a warning that the form template has been published to the server but if can only be opened in InfoPath Filler

This is a problem, because it was decided that the form would be required to be opened using the browser.  I made changes to the form so that it abided by the rules which allow it to be opened using a broswer (There were no design checker warnings or errors).

This is the second form that had this problem.  To fix it the first time, I simply created a new form that was not a filler form.  Now that it has happened again, I wonder if there is a way to convert the filler form to a web browser form to save development time.

Can this be done?  Any other suggestions?

Many thanks.

Provision an InfoPath form template in a content type, with "view in browser" option

Hi all.
I've to provision an InfoPath form template in SharePoint 2010 within a content type, and my form must be open in a browser.
The provision of the .xsn file and of the content type goes well, but my form always open in the client and not in the browser. Instead, if i publish my form from InfoPath 2010 using the "Publish" option and i select to publish my form within a content type, everything goes well. I can see the form in the browser.

Here is my code.

Module

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">
 <Module Name="OpeningJeans" Url="_cts/MY CONTENT TYPE" RootWebOnly="TRUE">
  <File Path="InfopathModules\MyForm.xsn" Url="MyForm.xsn" />
 </Module>
</Elements>

ContentType

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">
<!-- Parent ContentType: Form (0x010101) -->

Convert Infopath 2010 browser enabled form to PDF when Submiting

Hi all, Im having a infopath form browser enabled form. I need to sumbit it to a document library when submiting as a pdf. In the blogs and forums they said like you can use this.currentview.expot() but in the infopath 2010 there is no method like export, i refere the microsoft.office.infopath.server.dll (14/bin) as well. Infopath 2010 form library - add new field to template

I have a new form library - made some changes used quickpublish and all is good.  I then added a new field (Group) using person/group picker - save form and create a new one - the new field does not show in the Form Library columns - how do I refresh the fields I want to show in my sharepoint form library.  Thank you

Infopath 2010 browser enabled form need to save form immediately prior to submission to a different

Scenario

Using SharePoint 2010 and Infopath web browser admin approved forms. I have a big form that will take serveral edits over time via collaboration between two users prior to submission. I use two form libraries say WIP for work in progress and Submitted for submitted forms. There are different access permissions to the two libraries.

When a user submits a form from the WIP library to the Submitted library I want to set a flag on the WIP form to say submitted=Yes so that if they go back into the original WIP form they cannot submit a second time with the same form. I use this flag field to set a read only view of the form.

The trouble is that when I set the flag before triggering the submit then the flag is set but the current form is not saved before it is submitted as a new form to the submitted library so the flag never gets set on the current form!

Ideally I want to force a save to the WIP form immediately prior to a submission but after I set the flag field value. I am having difficulty in finding out how to do this - any suggestions? I realise that submit is a form of save but I want to simply save the current form as part of the submit action. What is happening is that the form is submitted to the other library but THIS form is not saved. I cannot depend on the user to save using the Save button.

Formatting problem with Email from an Browser Enabled InfoPath 2010 Form in SharePoint 2010

I'm creating a form in InfoPath 2010 to be filled out in the browser within our SharePoint 2010 instance. It's pretty simple, four columns with total table width of about 650 pixels, textboxes, checkboxes, datepicker and one multiselect list box. The form is working fine up to the point where I invoke a data connection which emails the form to myself. When it arrives in my inbox, the format of the form included in the body of the email is funky. When I open the email and set it to a full screen viewing window (1440X900) the area that takes up the form exceeds the width of my viewing window and requires scroll bars to see all the fields on the form.

When printing the form from my email the area is so large that no data will show up in the printable area (it appears to be centered on the form and it is cutting off the "extra content" to the left and right which contains the form data as the user entered it). I'm using Outlook 2007. I also forwarded the email to a person who's using Outlook 2010 and they experienced the same problems as myself.

Things I've tried to fix it: Setting each column width, setting each control width to a pixel length (instead of using %). I added some code behind to switch the view to a two column view with a table width of 400px before it sends out the email. It's closer to being at a state where it's

Unable to get AD profile information using InfoPath form in Sharepoint 2007 browser mode

I have followed the threads on this but haven't been able to resolve the issue with any of the suggestions provided.  I need to get the user's first and last name from their profile.  I created an InfoPath form using the "Get current user without writing code" blog directions I ran across here, using the standard userprofileservice.asmx service.  Everything works fine so long as I don't use the SharePoint browser option.  Then I get the error:

An error occurred accessing a data source.
An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server.

Log ID:5566

I have attacked this from every angle I can think of:

IE, Design checker - OK, SSP account, my account have AD read access, no problems getting to the site collection, as stated before, runs fine if I don't use the browser option

Converted the connection to a udcx stored in the same site as the form library - tried both converted and unconverted connection - same problem, removed the connection altogether, everything works fine (but, of course, no profile info), works under InfoPath using either connection

Set form with Domain trust

Published it to a form library, also tried admin approved with full trust and signed - same problem

Ran locally on SharePoint server and remotely - same problem

Insert image into Infopath form and save to SharePoint as PDF file

I have an InfoPath web-enabled form in MOSS 2007, that is integrated with a K2 blackpoint process for an approval workflow.

Once the form (a Purchase Order request form) has been approved in the K2 workflow process, I switch the form view to a "print-friendly" view for the requestor to view from the browser.  However, now I need to go one step further with this scenario:

1) I need to somehow insert/embed an image with the scanned-in signature of the approver (likely stored in a SP doc library) at the signature line section of my form.  Also, what are the security requirements for storing such images, but not granting all users access to these (e.g. only services accounts that need to access this for embedding into the form, etc.)?

2) Then I need to convert this final "print-friendly" view of the form (with the signature image) to a PDF document so that I can store it in SharePoint (and email it to the requestor using K2's email event capabilities).

Can anyone help me with a solution to both of these requirement, or point me to some resources for this (even 3rd party components are open-game).

thanks!

Reg: Turn on more accessible mode & Skip to main content link message on Infopath2007 browser form

Hi,

I have a infopath 2007 browser enabled form with c# code behind . The Infopath form is embeded\hosted in to a custom layouts page (.aspx) on MOSS 2007. The issue is when users use keyboard to fill the form, they often use <TAB> & <Enter> keys. So when they are using the tabbing at one location in the form, I have a "Contact selector" field, I enter a name & then hit <TAB> key the focus now comes to "name cheker" I then hit <Enter> key, I hit <TAB> again, the focus now comes to a button named "Accept", I hit <Enter> key & a filed below is populated with the values from user profile service. Now when I hit <TAB> I expect the focus should now come to that automatically populated field below the "Contact selctor". Because Infopath assings the tab order by default form top to bottom & left to right and I havent changed that default tab order.

But, the focus moves to top of the webpage with a clickable link to "Turn on more accessible mode" I hit tab one more time & the link on top changes to "Skip to main content". This bheaviour does not seem to be happning in other form controls when they hit <Tab>, <Enter>. There are couple of areas on the infopath form where I have such a controls (layed ou

Attachment upload error on browser based InfoPath form

Hello,

I am having an interesting problem with browser based InfoPath forms in SharePoint 2007.  For some reason the file attachment control is not working any more.  It was working fine in July, but now it will not allow file attachments over a few kb.  I tried a 34KB file and I get the error below, a 2KB file works fine.
