How do I join a SSIS text field type cast from the Derived Column Transformation Editor with a varchar from an SQL data table in a lookup?
Also, is there any reference on which SSIS data flow datatypes can be JOINed to SQL Server datatypes?
Here's the problem: I have records in a flat file. The flat file name contains the data of the records. When importing, I read the flat file name into a data field using SSIS. Then, I use FINDSTRING to create a derived column that
contains just the file date as YYYYMMDD.
There's a SQL Table that contains Currency Rates, indexed by currency code and date, in DD/MM/YYYY format, but it's stored as a VARCHAR
A.) I tried to convert the string, '07302010' into the following formats, without success:
However, none of these can understand the string '20100730' as a date!
B.) Furthermore, if i convert the field into a DTW_STR, it still doesn't match the varchar(50) in my db.
So, basically, despite using all available typecast date formats, and several string formats as well, I can't find a way to
A.) Parse text out of a field
B.) Convert that text to either a DATE format or a TEXT format
C.) Use that resulting field to
I used the Secure Store to create connection in SharePoint 2010 Designer External Content Types Data Source Explorer. Later I changed some column names in the table.
I deleted the connection from Data Source Explorer and recreated it. I right clicked on the table and selected Create All Operations. When I clicked the Finish button, I got "The system definition with the same name as this data source already exists in the
Business Data Connectivity Metadata Store and it refers to a different data source. Cannot complete operation generation. Add a connection to this data source with a different name and try again."
I re-created the Secure Store using a different name in SharePoint 2010 Central Administration. I didn't find the option to choose the connection name in SharePoint 2010
Designer. After I clicked Add Connection, I entered the Database Server and the Database Name, selected Connect with Impersonated Window Identity, entered Secure Store name, and clicked OK. The connection created with the database name as before.
How can I avoid entering Output columns manually (with their data types) in the Script Transformatio I created a wrapper to a WCF web service that is returning many datasets with hundreds of columns. The destination database schema matches the source schema exactly. When i make the connection on a ADO.NET destination object to my database
it auto-generates my list of columns. I understand that the script component could output anything so it can't autogenerate at this point, but is there any way to copy and paste the Column definitions from somwhere else and paste them in? I'd like
to avoid spending hours entering all these manually.
Im using the OLEDB Source to connect the source columns. But its throwing an error msg Column Name - cannot convert between unicode & nonunicode string data types. Could you please provide me the oracle code so that I can use with the select statement.
For some of the schemas I have chaged the data types using the derived column before the OLEDB destination.
Actually, one of my team member suggested me to use the Oracle char(2) in the select statement. Can any one help me with the code so that I can use it for the rest of the columns.
Eg source(External Column) - CreatedBYID - DT_wstr(18)
Source - Output cloumn - CreatedById - DTStr(18)
I want to retrieve List Fields & their Data Types of a particular List. I will give List name as an input parameter.
I want to get List Field Name & its data type as a key value pair. Pls. help with the same.
I have this really strange issue. In a table I have a field of type nvarchar, and length set to 4000, but when I try to write something above 100 characters, it is not saved, and I get this error: "The data was truncated
while converting from one data type to another. [ Name of function(if known) = ]". Can anybody please tell me what am I doing wrong? I wrestle with this problem for a few hours and have no idea on how to solve it...
What's really strange is that I can manually insert data into the table, and I get no error...
