The maximum string content length quota (8192) has been exceeded while reading XML data.

Hi, I have been working on implementing a WCF service and have run into this problem with the maxStringContentLength.  I have read a bunch of posts here on how to correct it and none of them have worked.  I have updated my web.config in my local IIS5 published service to be maxStringContentLength="2147483647" and have updated my application's app.config to be maxStringContentLength="2147483647".  I delete all DLL's, rebuild, restart IIS, make sure all VS 2008 virtual webs are stopped, republish multiple times...even reboot my machine and I continually receive the following error message:The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter http://tempuri.org/qlStatement. The InnerException message was 'There was an error deserializing the object of type System.String. The maximum string content length quota (8192) has been exceeded while reading XML data. This quota may be increased by changing the MaxStringContentLength property on the XmlDictionaryReaderQuotas object used when creating the XML reader. Line 171, position 35.'.  Please see InnerException for more details.I am running the service on my local machine: Win XP SP2, IIS5, .Net 3.5, VS 2008Here is my WCF service's servicemodel section of the web.config:    <system.serviceModel>    <bindings>      <wsHt

 Hi, Im getting the error when I am sending the large message to WCF service, I've seen previous post regarding the same prob and tried all the possibilities but still facing the problem.
Changed the reader quotas values of Client config and service config but no help.

Also tried by adding the below code in client and service

 BasicHttpBinding basicBinding = new BasicHttpBinding();
        basicBinding.MaxBufferSize = Int32.MaxValue;
        basicBinding.MaxReceivedMessageSize = Int32.MaxValue;
        basicBinding.MaxBufferPoolSize = Int32.MaxValue;

        XmlDictionaryReaderQuotas myReaderQuotas = new XmlDictionaryReaderQuotas();
        myReaderQuotas.MaxStringContentLength = Int32.MaxValue;
        myReaderQuotas.MaxArrayLength = Int32.MaxValue;
        myReaderQuotas.MaxBytesPerRead = Int32.MaxValue;
        myReaderQuotas.MaxDepth = Int32.MaxValue;
        myReaderQuotas.MaxNameTableCharCount = Int32.MaxValue;

But still facing the issue.

Here is my

"The maximum string content length quota (8192) has been exceeded while reading XML data. "

I keep getting this when I send a ton of text over the line... and this is SMALL compared to some of the text I want to move.  Any ideas?

The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: Error in deserializing body of request message for operation 'UpdateBlogEntry'. This quota may be increased by changing the MaxStringContentLength property on the XmlDictionaryReaderQuotas object used when creating the XML reader. Line 180, position 518.

I'm getting this message when invoke an operation on the service.

I have the readerQuotas configured in the client's config file as follows:

<readerQuotas maxDepth="32" maxStringContentLength="2048000" maxArrayLength="16384" maxBytesPerRead="4096" maxNameTableCharCount="16384" />

Maximum memory for string ? . System.MemoryOutOfException Occurs when reading the Content of the fil

I have a C++ code which reads a file [vtk file - its similar to text file only]. and try to store it in string.

here's the code:

String^ ParallelProjectionRenderer::GetVolumeDataAsString(String^ FileName)

    vtkSmartPointer<vtkDataSetWriter> sWriter = vtkSmartPointer<vtkDataSetWriter>::New();

    String^ FileName = "D:\\Users\\...";

    char * sptName = static_cast<char *>(Marshal::StringToHGlobalAnsi(FileName).ToPointer());

    String^ result= File::ReadAllText(FileName);   [it breaks here with system.memoryoutofexception when the file size is huge]

    return result;

this code executes fine when the file size is less than 8mb.

I wanted to know whats the maximum memory allocated to the string.

As a workaround i skipped reading out in C++ code. and i tried to read the file contents in asp.net C# code and stor

XSD: Reading string in ROOT of XML

Hi all, I am making a import from XML to SQL. I have chosen to do this via a XSD file, but I have a problem with the ROOT file of the XMLXML:<Dogs bulkmode="0" xmlns="http://scheme01.isp.com">  <UnderDogs>    ...  </UnderDogs></Dogs>XSD:<xsd:element name="Dogs bulkmode="0" xmlns="http://scheme01.isp.com"" sql:is-constant="1">Unfortunately this does not work. If I (for testing) changes the first line of the XML to <Dogs>, (and corrects the XSD) it works like a charm.  It is not an option to change the XML file, so somehow I need to make the changes within my XSD. Does anyone have any suggestions?RegardsBirger Wilhelmsen

Reading data from Excel 2007

I am attempting to read data from an uploaded spreadsheet using ACE.OLEDB. The code, which is running fine on dev and test machines for XL2003/2007 reports "External table is not in the expected format" error on connecting on the production server for XL2007 only. The code is Dim connectionString As String = "provider=Microsoft.Ace.OLEDB.12.0;" _ & "Data Source='" & ImportData.FullName & "';Extended Properties=Excel 12.0;" LogWebActivity.LogThis("Entering POPSUKD, ConStr=" & connectionString, LogWebActivity.LogDetailLevel.DetailAndData) Dim con As New System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnection(connectionString) LogWebActivity.LogThis("Dimmed con", LogWebActivity.LogDetailLevel.Debugging) Try Dim cmdSelect As New System.Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand("SELECT * FROM [" & WorksheetName & "$]", con) Dim adapter As New System.Data.OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter(cmdSelect) Dim dS As New Data.DataSet LogWebActivity.LogThis(cmdSelect.CommandText, LogWebActivity.LogDetailLevel.Debugging) con.Open() LogWebActivity.LogThis("Opened Connection", LogWebActivity.LogDetailLevel.Debugging) adapter.Fill(dS, WorksheetName) LogWebActivity.LogThis("Filled DataAdapter", LogWebActivity.LogDetailLevel.Debugging) _SKUS = dS.Tables(W

Reading data to a table from a stored proc

This has me brain locked.  1. I've got a stored procedure.  2. It does a select with a couple joins.  I want to take the results of that stored proc and read them into some a table -- temp table would be ideal.  here's my (really tough) constraints... these really complicate things: 1. the stored proc uses dynamic SQL. As a consequence, I don't know the columns it's going to return (it's kind of the whole point of using it).  2. Since the stored proc uses dynamic SQL, it needs to use sp_executesql internally.    What won't work(i don't think?): 1. I can't create a function that returns a table and does a "return select * from....", since you can't (I don't think?) call a stored a stored proc in the return statement of a function 2. I can't just do an "Insert into #xyz exec .." because I can't pre-define the temp table (I think this is needed?). 3. I don't have a linked server. and i'd rather not. All of this runs local in the same instance of SqlServer, and will have to handle loads of volume (each hit will return a few million rows).  So (I think?) OPENQUERY  is out.  4. OPENROWSET is a possibility, I suppose, but again, everything is running locally. I think that goes through OLEDB (?) and I'm not sure that's even an option.    THOUGHTS???  HELP?? is it even possible?? Pl

How to filter managed meta data column using page query string?

I have two managed term sets as follows: Articles:Downloads Projects:Downloads I am trying to use a content query web part to filter a list based on the above manged meta data column. I want to filter out only "Articles:Downloads" Scenario 1: When I edit the web part and directly set the filter option with the managed meta data column to "Articles:Downloads" it works fine. When I export the web part, in the .webpart file, the "FilterValue1" property has a value "Downloads|9096e43b-555d-4879-9acc-b4ada9ea9910". Scenario 2: I want the web part to get the filter information from query string [PageQueryString:pageType]. So I tried using these options: a) pageType=Downloads      This works but returns downloads under 'projects' as well. (i want downloads only under 'articles')  b) pageType=Articles:Downloads     Does not work and shows no records c) pageType = Downloads|9096e43b-555d-4879-9acc-b4ada9ea9910     Does not work. (This value is the same as one found in 'FilterValue1' of the static web part). c) pageType = Articles:Downloads|9096e43b-555d-4879-9acc-b4ada9ea9910     Does not work. d) pageType = 9096e43b-555d-4879-9acc-b4ada9ea9910     Does not work.   What am I missing here? Can some one please help?
