How to remove date from a DateTime picker

Posted By:      Posted Date: November 25, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I've got a row with a checkbox - - if it's checked, the DateTimePicker is enabled - if it's not checked, the DTP is disabled - - that part's working.

But, for the life of me, I haven't been able to figure out the following.

A user checks the checkbox, so the DTP is enabed
Then, he chooses a date, to populate the DTP.
Then, he changes his mind and unchecks the checkbox.
I need to remove the date that was chosen - I've tried using the 'Set a Field's value' - and left the value blank, tried adding 2 single quotes, tried adding 2 double quotes, but nothing works.

How do I remove the date from the 'textbox' portion of the DTP with a rule?

convert date from datetime picker to sql format

I have an application that uses a time date picker control to display a date from a sql (sql 2000) table. Casting from the table to the control works fine, but writing a selected date from the control back to the database does not, I was under the impression that a datatype 'date' in VB would be compatible with SQL datetime datatime, and obviously it is from sql to vb as the date is correctly displayed in the control reading from the table. How do I need to convert the value from the date time picker control to write into sql ?

Data validation on a datetime column - or remove date part and only keep time part of the datetime2

Windows Server 2003, SharePoint Designer 2007, Windows SharePoint Services 3.0

I have a calendar list with start date(datetime1) and end date (datetime2).  Each is the default column created by the calendar list in SharePoint.  They both display a date and a time to choose from.

QUESTION:  Is there a way to remove the date section of the end date in a custom list form so that the user can only pick an end TIME?  Or, is there a way to force the end date (datetime2) to HAVE TO BE the same DATE as datetime1, only allowing for a different time?

Thank you!

jQuery Date picker Implementation in ASP.NET

I've posted a wrapper ASP.NET around the jQuery.UI Datepickercontrol. This small client side calendar control is compact, looks nice and is very easy to use and I've added it some time back to my control library.

This is primarily an update for the jQuery.ui version, and so I spend a few hours or so cleaning it up which wasn't as easy as it could have been since the API has changed quite drastically from Marc's original implementation. The biggest changes have to do with the theming integration and the resulting explosion of related resources.

If you want to use this component you can check it out a sample and the code here:

Jquery date picker in ASP.NET Web user control does not work

Hello, I have the most frustrating problem and being new to JQuery does make it more difficult. I have an ASP.NET web user control with an ASP.NET box which I want to apply a JQuery date picker to, then of course I have server side code which takes the date and processes it etc. The date picker will not work. I can achieve a working JQuery date picker with an ASP.NET textbox if there is no user control involved, or within the user control I use a html text box instead, but once I add runat="server" to the text box, it does not work. Is there a way I can achieve this? (the web user control will be wrapped in an update panel too which at the moment will work with the html control/web user control without the server side functionality)

ReadOnly DateTime attribute stores correct date but only retrieves DateTime.MinValue on Delete

Hey everyone,

I have a dynamic data site that stores Event data using LINQ-to-SQL. When someone requests an event, it is first stored as a PendingEvent (which is a child of Event) with a column/attribute called receivedAt, which is [ReadOnly(true)] and which is assigned in InsertEvent as shown.

        partial void InsertEvent(Event instance)
            instance.requestedAt = DateTime.Now;

This works fine. The event displays with the correct receivedAt date, and it's correct in my database. It shows up just fine on my Display, Edit, and List pages. However, if I try to delete, the receivedAt in the instance (retrieved with my debugger) in my delete function is 01/01/0001 12:00am, also known as DateTime.MinValue. My other dates appear correct.

If I remove "ReadOnly(true)" from the received at, everything works fine. Why won't "ReadOnly" allow me to have a time?
Thanks in advance,

I forgot to mention why I care. I can't submit the instance to be deleted because DateTime.MinValue is outside SQL's available datetime, so I get a SQL error. The delete also takes place in a custom dele

Calendar Date Picker Restriction

Is there a way to restrict the user to selecting only the first day of a month from the Date Picker calendar? The database list the yearmonth column as datetime and the entries are 01/01/2010, 02/01/2010, 03/01/2010. . . to represent the month. So I need to be able to provide the calendar in the parameter panel but only let the user select the first day of a month. If I can't do this is there some way of providing an error message when/if they select another day of the month that would instruct them to select the first day of the month? Any help is greatly appreciated.

jQuery Date Picker

I am using following attached date picker. http://rapidshare.com/files/417385026/jQuery_Date_Picker.zip http://www.2shared.com/file/d2NK63P-/jQuery_Date_Picker.html Problem is if i don't use font-size tag in the body of the HTML page date picker size becomes too big . I tried using Font-size tag with the div/table/td inside which i put the asp textBox which has date picker but it doesn't work, it works only with body to reduce the datepicker size. Please let me know how i can reduce the size of this date picker without actually reducing the font size of the whole page. Here are screen shots With font size tag in body http://img835.imageshack.us/i/92688528.jpg Without font size tag in body http://img833.imageshack.us/i/48042121.jpgjQuery that i am usinghttp://jqueryui.com/demos/datepicker/#dropdown-month-year Thank You.

Change the Default Date in the Date Picker Control

Hi, I have a WPF Datagrid in which one of the columns is a Date Column. So i have used a DataTemplateColumn as Follows     <my:DataGridTemplateColumn CellTemplate="{StaticResource EffDateDateTimePickerControl}"   CellEditingTemplate="{StaticResource addrEffDate}" Header="Effective Date"/> And in my Resource File i have written the following code: Style   TargetType="{x:Type my:Calendar}" x:Key="CalenderControlTemplate">     <Setter Property="Template">     <Setter.Value>     <ControlTemplate TargetType="my:Calendar" >     <my:CalendarItem Name="myCalendarItem"   Background="White"   BorderBrush="Black"   BorderThickness="1"   VerticalAlignment="Center" />     </ControlTemplate>       </Setter.Value>     </Setter>     </Style>       <DataTemplate x:Key="EffDateDateTimePickerControl">     <Label x:Name="lblEffDate" Content="{Binding effectiveDate,Mode=TwoWay}" ></Label>     </DataTemplate>     <DataTemplate x:Ke

Rich Text in list forms & date picker

Hi, I was hoping that someone could help me on a few issues. I have created a custom list form in sharepoint designer to display the contents of my list in a nice format. I have also customised the edit form for the list. I am having a problem with special characters now showing up when they are being entered (the HTML does not seem to be parsed on the output). I would like to make a description field in my list edit form a rich text box, is this possible? This is the code I am using at the moment for the text box: <asp:TextBox runat="server" id="ff5{$Pos}" text="{@status}" textmode="multiline" __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('u',concat('ff5',$Pos),'Text','TextChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@status')}" Width="600px" Height="100px" /> And this is the code that I am using on the display side of the list to show the status update: <xsl:value-of disable-output-escaping="yes" select="ddwrt:AutoNewLine(string(@status))" /> Is there code that I can use on the data entry side that will show a rich text box? Also then I will need to change the tag on the display end so it parses the HTML? In addition to this, is there specific code for a 'date picker' ? At the moment my date entry box is just a standard text box, is there code I can u
