I received the following error...*****System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: There is insufficient free space on disk volume 'C:\' to create the database. The database requires 2739929088 additional free bytes, while only 801185792 bytes are available. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)*****I have looked at the solution recommended on this forum http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=79848 but I am still baffled as to why it says that I don't have enough disk space?  I ran the RESTORE FILELISTONLY command and it told me that the "size" was 1.4 GB and I've got 60GB left. I am starting to resolve that my .BAK is corrupt.  Are there any other reasons as to why I am unable to restore my backup? Thanks for any help in advance!

DIsk Space due to Queries

HI All,   I have a table which is pretty big- couple of billion rows. When I do a select on this query, I run out of disk-space on C drive. However, neither data nor log files on C drive so why would C drive run out of space? Any thoughts? Thanks in  advance.

know the hard disk's SQL Server space available from SQL Query

I would be able to determine how much hard disk space is available on the Server with a SQL Query, and from an other computer on the LAN.

How can I do something?

Thanks for your help.

Not enough space on disk

Why did I get Error 6022: Not enough space on the disk. File: Model.edmx if I have more than 1GB space on the disk where project is located and 200GB on the system disk where Windows and Visual Studio was installed?

Writing files to disk

I'm populating a generic list from an excel file that contains names of pdf files. Now I want to take each item in the list and create a file from it.

Here's what I have so far:

const string fileName = @"C:\Backups\myFile.txt";
            List<string> lines = new List<string>();

So now, the list called lines contains names of 900 pdf files. How would I take those names out of the list and create files from them?

Moving database files (mdf, ldf) to another disk causes PAGEIOLATCH_SH

When I moving database files to another LUN (one for MDF file, and another for LDF file) on storage system (NetApp N5300 Series)

causes PAGEIOLATCH_SH locks. How to solve this problem?

Backup SharePoint 2010 farm configuration settings only get an error for not enough disk space when

I am trying to do a backup the Backup using the Backup and Restore feature in SharePoint 2010 Central Administration.  I just want to backup only the farm configuration settings only.

so I followed the GUI

Open CA Backup and Restore, checked the Farm checkbox,  click Next

I chose the following:

Backup Type :  Full

Data to backup:  Back up only configuration settings

Backup File location  :   use an UNC shared location   \\servername\sharedname

at this point,  I see the Estimated disk space required is:   1.2 GB

the server hard disk available space is  30 GB

but when i click the Start Backup,  i got an error in RED saying "There is not enough disk space. Free additional space on your hard disk and then try again. Approximate amount of space needed is 40 GB.   Amount of space free on disk:  30 GB."

Why is this happened?  and the estimated disk spaced required still showed at 1.2GB

If anyone had experience this problem and have a solution, please advice

Error displaying like not enough available memory or disk space for adding the excel

I am creating excel file and adding the values to the cells thorugh code.

Application is working fine without deployment, but when I deployed this web application in both in my local system  and server 2003 system I am getting the following  error.

Then I changed the settings by going into component services and  for the "COM Security" tab I have added everyone, network, aspnet, interactive accounts and given full permissions.

Clean Web.Config Files (VS 2010 and .NET 4.0 Series)

.NET 4 includes a new version of the CLR, and a new .NET 4 specific machine.config file (which is installed side-by-side with the one used by .NET 2, .NET 3 and .NET 3.5).

The new .NET 4 machine.config file now automatically registers all of the ASP.NET tag sections, handlers and modules that we've added over the years, including the functionality for:

.ASP.NET Dynamic Data
.ASP.NET Routing (which can now be used for both ASP.NET WebForms and ASP.NET MVC)
.ASP.NET Chart Control (which now ships built-into ASP.NET V4)
What this means is that when you create a new "Empty ASP.NET application" project in VS 2010, you'll find that the new default application-level web.config file is now clean and simple:
