SSIS Web Service Task error : SQL 2005

On my dev machine every thing works, When i put my SSIS on QA server for testing, I get following error . Customer has only SQL 2005. Please provide any input on how to resolve this issue. I provided HTTP URL as .asmx?WSDL    already in config file.   Code: 0xC002F304    Source: Log Start Message to Process Manager Web Service Web Service Task    Description: An error occurred with the following error message: "Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebserviceTaskException: The input Web Services Description Language (WSDL) file is not valid.    at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTaskUtil..ctor(Object connection, String downloadedWSDL)    at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTask.executeThread()". End Error DTExec: The package execution returned DTSER_FAILURE (1).Moonis Tahir MVP, MCPD, MCSD.net, MCTS BizTalk 2006/SQL 2005/SharePoint Server 2007 (Dev & Config)

Error during execution a web method for a web service task - SSIS 2005

Hi.

I'm created a SSIS 2005 pkg that refers a wsdl file by a web service task. When I execute the task I can see an error as

"Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebserviceTaskException: Could not execute the Web method. The error is: cannot possible to find the method 'ProxyNamespace.CreateAndCompleteSubscriptionImplService.action'..    in Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebMethodInvokerProxy.InvokeMethod(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection)    in Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTaskUtil.Invoke(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection, VariableDispenser taskVariableDispenser)    in Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTask.executeThread()"

I haven't written the wsdl file, but I must use it to use the web service in SSIS environment.

Any suggests to me, please? Many thanks

I can add that the web service is implemented with Java technology and the same wsdl it is used with success inside a .NET application. Thanks

Could be a compatibility issue?

Http connection and WSDLFile path for a web service task - SSIS 2005

Hi.

I'm trying to create a SSIS 2005 pkg with a web service task. I need to create a Http connection, specifying an Url, and a WDSLFile Path. About these, two questions, please:

a) as URL for the Http connection, can I write f.e. http://mysite/mywebservices/mytestwebservice?wsdl=mytestwebservice.wsdl;

b) has the WDSLFile path to be a local path on my machine?

Many thanks for your suggests.

Post Upgade task, Upgrading SSIS Pacakges to SQL Server 2008.

Hi, I am trying to upgrade sql 2005 packages to sql 2008 after doing in-place upgrade of DE and SSIS. Can I know what packageformat column in msdb.dbo.sysssispackages refer to, as according to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc879336.aspx the value should be 2 if the package is in sql 2005 and it should be 3 if it is upgraded. But I am seeing only 0 or 1.   Can I know any other method to figure out version of the ssis packages? I am having issues upgrading SSIS Packages from 2005 to 2008, using SSIS package upgrade wizard.   Thanks for your help. Regards, KRanp.

SSIS 2005 - Send Mail Task - signature appended to email is garbled - unicode problem?

Hi, I'm pretty new to SSIS so go easy on me. I have a Send Mail Task to notify if a file cannot be imported - the mailbody is created on the previous step by a VB.NET script task to include the name of the file and the path it's been archived to. The problem I'm having is that while the body of the email I've created is displaying fine, our company's Exchange server appends a signature to all emails, and this is coming up as undisplayable characters, presumably due to some kind of unicode encoding problem. I've tried casting the email body in an expression to DT_STR (doesn't work as DT_STR "cannot be converted to a supported type" which seems a bit odd but never mind), DT_WSTR (garbled signature), DT_TEXT/DT_NTEXT (strange error on this one - "Attempted to read or write protected memory") none of those ideas worked, and I'm a bit stumped now. Can anyone help? I'm using SSIS 2005 with SP3

SSIS 2005 Control Flow Task Priority

The short version is I am looking for a way to prioritize certain tasks in SSIS 2005 control flows. That is I want to be able to set it up so that Task B does not start until Task A has started but Task B does not need to wait for Task A to complete. The goal is to reduce the amount of time where I have idle threads hanging around waiting for Task A to complete so that they can move onto Tasks C, D & E. The issue I am dealing with is converting a data warehouse load from a linear job that calls a bunch of SPs to an SSIS package calling the same SPs but running multiple threads in parallel. So basically I have a bunch of Execute SQL Task and Sequence Container objects with Precedent Constraints mapping out the dependencies. So far no problems, things are working and initial testing looks like it will cut our load time significantly. However I noticed that tasks with no downstream dependencies are commonly being sequenced before those that do have dependencies. This is causing a lot of idle time in certain spots that I would like to minimize. For example: I have about 60 procs involved with this load, ~10 of them have no dependencies at all and can run at any time. Then I have another one with no upstream dependencies but almost every other task in the job is dependent on it. I would like to make sure that the task with the dependencies is running before I pick up any of t

SSIS 2005 & 2008 BIDS and VS2005/2008 Will VS2010 work with either SSIS package?

I've read the old posts about having to have the BIDS version match the SSIS package version. My question is with VS2010 is there any change? Can I edit either of the old versions of SSIS packages in VS2010 or do I have to have 3 versions of Visual Studio/BIDS on my machine? TIA J

SSIS web service Task

Hello All, How  do you get around the same issue if your string type is based on a client token ?  I downloaded the .wsdl file, was able to see the service name, method and when selecting a method type, I am required to provide a client token which was given to me.  (Name column = clienttoken, Type = string, Value = 2227656 - ec8922 (client token numbers goes there)?  I am new to ssis and need your help please.  Note:  I downloaded another .wsdl file from a public site to test out the web service task and I was able to execute it without any errors.  I am using 2008 version.  Except for this .wsdl file which uses a parameter based security (client token) error message:  Web Service Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebserviceTaskException: The web serrvice threw an error during method execution. The error is: An error occurred when verifying security fro the message..    at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebMethodInvokerProxy.InvokeMethod(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection)    at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTaskUtil.Invoke(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection)   at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceT

SSIS Web Service Task Error with WCF Service

I have read all the other posts on this site and have not been able to resolve my issue.For testing purposes i created a very simple WCF service that takes no arguments and returns true.  That is all it does.When i create a winform client and instantiate the service i can run my service method and get true back so i know the service works.I then create a test SSIS package with 1 task, a web service task.  I set the web service tasks properties as follows:http connection: http://localhost/WCF_SSIS_Prototype/Service1.svcwsdl file: C:\...\SSIS_WCF_Prototype\Service1.wsdl  (I know this is not a valid path, i changed it for posting to forum)Service: Service1Method: GetDataVariable: User::BResultWhen i run the package i get the following error:[Web Service Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebserviceTaskException: Could not execute the Web method. The error is: Method 'ProxyNamespace.Service1.GetData' not found..    at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebMethodInvokerProxy.InvokeMethod(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection)    at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTaskUtil.Invoke(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection)    at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTask.executeThread()". SSIS 2005: call WCF web service in ScriptTask (?)

Hi I am a bit of SSIS and WCF newbie...I am working on a SSIS 2005 project and other company writes web service for me to consume.  I use "script task" in SSIS and copy the WSDL-generated proxy file to consume web service..it has been working ok but yesterday I got a new proxy class file from the other company with heading like this:

<System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThroughAttribute(), _

     System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCodeAttribute("System.Runtime.Serialization", "3.0.0.0"), _

     System.Runtime.Serialization.DataContractAttribute(Name:="GetBondTenancy", [Namespace]:="http://xxx.x.xxx.notshown.xxx/")> _

    Partial Public Class GetBondTenancy

        Inherits Object

        Implements System.Runtime.Serialization.IExtensibleDataObject

SSIS complains about not recognizing 'DataContractAttribute' and 'IExtensibleDataObject' but sure it is not just a matter of DLL referencing... is there a way I can consume this Web service?

Thanks.
p.s. Please let me know if you guys require more info....

Copy SSIS packages from 2005 to 2008

I have both vs 2005 and vs2008 on the same pc. When i try to copy the package from the BIDS 2008 from file Copy as i get an error

 Storing or modifying packages in SQL Server requires the SSIS runtime and database to be the same version. Storing packages in earlier versions is not supported.

Do you know how to fix this issue.

Issue when migrating Reporting service reports from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008

Hi Friends,

We are migrating reporting service reports from SQL server 2005 to SQL Server 2008 and facing below login issue.

We got a virtual machine with 2003 server and got SQL Server 2008 installed with reporting service.

I was able to publish my 2005 reports using VS 2005 easily.

1) But when I try to run the reports I am getting below errors at my website home page.

The permissions granted to user 'DomainName\MachineName' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied)

I could not get why there is no user name in above error and how it says machine name does not have permissioin?

There should be at least some user id mentioned as per me.

What could be the reason of above error?

2) Also when I try to run reports using Reports website (i.e. http://server/Reports URL), I get below errro in executing the reports.

"An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot create a connection to data source 'ReportSource'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection)
Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'."

Here the question is how it is picking up Anonymous logon. I thought it might be using Network Sevice acct to access reports.

What should I be doing to resolve above errors?

3) Also one more point about the s

trying to use custom assembly with script task in SSIS 2008 - can't find correct version of GACUtil

I am trying to use a custom assembly (compiled with VS 2005 framework 2.0) with SSIS 2008.  I understand that I need to put this Assembly in the GAC.  I initially attempted to do this using the GACUtil, but I apparently only have version 1.1 of GACUtil intalled on my development PC.  Shouldn't version 2.0 have been installed as part of VS 2005?

So I then tried simply copying the dll into the GAC folder using windows explorer.  Well, the dll is now visibly in the GAC folder, but I cannot see it from either VS 2005 or BIDS 2008.  Does that mean I do need to use GACUtil 2.0 or higher to install the DLL into the GAC?  If so, is there any place on the Web that I can download it?

How to generate an excel and send it as email attachment in SSIS 2005 Script Task Component?

I am using a "Script Task" component. I am trying with following three simple steps:

1) Obtain the excel content in HTML

Dim reportInHtml As String = GenerateHTMLReport()

2) Generate an excel with below code:

Dim message As MailMessage

message = New MailMessage(fromAddress, toAddress, subject, String.Empty)

Using memoryStream As MemoryStream = New MemoryStream()

        Dim contentAsBytes As Byte() = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(reportInHtml)
        memoryStream.Write(contentAsBytes, 0, contentAsBytes.Length)
        memoryStream.Seek(0, SeekOrigin.Begin)

        Dim contentType As ContentType = New ContentType()
        contentType.MediaType = "application/ms-excel"
        contentType.Name = "Excel_Report.xls"

        Dim excelAttachment
