Access web database Reports - "file not found" error

Posted By:      Posted Date: November 20, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

The reports section of my Access web databases aren't working - I keep getting a "file not found" error for every database I upload.  I even tested it with the Northwind Web Database sample from MS.  I could see the reports in Access 2010, so I successfully uploaded the template to my SharePoint 2010 Server, and when I clicked on the links to view the Reports - I got the same "file not found" error for this sample database.

Anyone seen this before?

Thanks.

Steve

The remote server returned an error: (550) File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access).

Hi.   I have read the other threads regarding this but they do not solve my problem. All i am trying to do is upload a file from the webserver onto another server via FTP. But i get the above error and am at my wits end as to why.   below is the code:   Dim fs As New FileStream("H:\Visual Studio 2005\Websites\Website1\testfile.txt", FileMode.Open) Dim filecontents(fs.Length) As Byte fs.Read(filecontents, 0, fs.Length)   Dim remotePath As String = "ftp://elonwactd.uk.ml.com/apps/files/IPBHVGTRADE/QA5/in/testfile.txt" Dim ftp As FtpWebRequest = FtpWebRequest.Create(remotePath) ftp.Credentials = New System.Net.NetworkCredential("user1", "passwd1") ftp.KeepAlive = False ftp.UseBinary = True   ' (have tried UploadFile as well instead of UploadFileWithUniqueName) ftp.Method = WebRequestMethods.Ftp.UploadFileWithUniqueName     fs.Close()   ftp.GetRequestStream.Write(filecontents, 0, filecontents.Length) ftp.GetRequestStream.Close() ftp.GetResponse.Close()     Below is the stack trace that i get. Restoring 2008 Database with Filestream - Process cannot access file error

I'm trying to restore a copy of a database that has a filestream and am getting the error below. I've tried with move option to specify a new path and left it with default path, neither worked. Did a trace with procmon, didn't see anything. FileStream1 is a new folder that the restore process creates. I've deleted the folder, tried it with a new name, re-took the backup from the source machine, restarted SQL, rebooted the machine, drive permissions are open. I've run out of ideas on how to debug further. Looking up the error online wasn't much help either. Msg 3634, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The operating system returned the error '32(The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.)' while attempting 'OpenFile' on 'X:\Data\FileStream1\4ecb2e48-0eee-4c99-a3f0-f1e6c7f00b24\f2efe374-9481-4c1b-a7f2-dcdcee350807\0000001b-0000aaa6-00f6'. Linked Server Error 7303 for Access 2003 Database

I am having difficulty creating a linked server to and Access 2003 database on my SQL 2005 server.  Whenever I create a linked server through the either the “New Linked Server” tool in the SQL Management Studio or using the sp_addlinkedserver method, receive and error indicating “Cannot initialize the data source object of the OLE DB provider…(Microsoft SQL Server Error: 7303)”.  Although my ultimate goal is to link to a secure Access 2003 database file, the current MDB file I am trying to link to is “unsecured”.  I have already verified that the SQL Service account has read and write access to the folder containing the MDB file as well as the temp directories on the SQL server (suggestions from other forums).  Is there any SQL Server configuration that I need to modify in order to use the Jet 4.0 linked server provider (Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0)?

I am trying to upload a file via the ftpwebrequest object. I have downloaded a sample routine showing how to use the ftpwebrequest object that seems to be pretty popular on the web. However, I am not having much luck getting past this error msg. Anyway, I have posted the routine where I am getting the error.

The scenario is that I have a console application that passes 6 command line parameters to the app. Currently, all 6 parameters are supplied and working fine. I have highlighted in bold black what the pTargetDestination variable contains.

Error in Uploading Files to Access 2010 Web Database Table with Data Macro

Hi All,

I've recently published an Access 2010 Web Database to the SharePoint 2010 farm in my organization and I'm having the strangest problem.

I have a table which includes an Attachment field. When trying to upload a file through the web I get the following error: "There was an error uploading your attachment to the server".

Now, this table has a "Before Change" Data Macro, which basically executes a simple LookUp of several parameters from another table and writes them back to the "master" table. When deleting this Data Macro, upload on the Web works fine.

The thing is that when working from the local Access file (connected to the SharePoint) and trying to change a field in the table, the following error is received: "The Microsoft Access database engine encountered an error whil

ASP.Net Upload Image to MS Access Database

As you learnt from the previous articles to upload image to the SQL Database in ASP.Net 2.0 and stream that image into the memory to retrieve it from the database and display it on the web page. In this article you will learn how to upload images to the MS Access database in ASP.Net 2.0

First of all create an Access Database and place it in the App_Data folder of ASP.Net web site project. Then create a table "tblImg" with the following fields:

The web server where the web application hosted is running IBM Informix Connect 2.81. There is no such error before the upgrade is done.

As a developer, i have IBM Informix Client-SDK 2.90 installed on my local pc and debug the page where the read is needed from infimacs but no such error found.

The error come out only when it is hosted on the web server where IBM Informix Connect 2.81 is installed.

I have gone through many articles and it suggest me to set the environement  variable in the server :  DB_LOCALE=en_us.819.

I haven't try this solution but i think that this might not be the best solution.

SQL and Outlook: Enable Database Access and Updates Through Exchange and Any E-mail Client

Using Microsoft technologies, you can insert, edit, query, and delete database entries using any e-mail client such as Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or even WAP phone. While e-mail is certainly a powerful and widely used tool, it is usually not integrated with an application for performing any tasks other than sending reminders. The application scenario described here, an e-mail-based SQL update program, uses a simple data model; however, this solution will apply to any data model that you are working with. It will also eliminate the need for complex n-tier Internet applications and serves as a low maintenance solution for providing data access.

Upsize Your Database: Convert Your Microsoft Access Application to Take Advantage of SQL Server 7.0

What if you need to convert an existing Microsoft Access 97 database application into a true client-server application that is based on a SQL Server back end? If you know a little about Visual Basic and SQL Server, it's easy to make your app take advantage of the power and scalability provided by SQL Server 7.0. Using some concrete code examples, this article takes you step by step through converting the native Jet queries in your Access application into stored procedures and pass-through queries that SQL Server can use. You'll also learn how to pass on parameters when your client-server app calls these SQL Server stored procedures and queries.
