How to stop blurring of barcode images

I have a custom DLL that has a function that takes a string and returns a raster image(PNG) of a Code 128 barcode. That works fine, no problem. The barcode rendered does *not* use a font, it physically renders rectangles with precise pixel widths to generate the barcode. This is necessary because the laser expects a discrete stop of a "bar" and beginning of a "space". -- Image properties->Size is set to "Original Size" So I look at the report viewer, and I see barcodes. Cool. HOWEVER ... when I zoom in at about 400% I start to see blurring at the edges of the bars. It also prints this way. This is unacceptable. So then, within report viewer, (this is the same report!) I export the report to PDF. No blurring, not at 500%, not at 2000% not at any zoom level. In the PDF, there is a sharp, precise, quantum drop from black to white with *no* blurring whatsoever. On pixel is 0x000000 and the next is 0xFFFFFF. The PDF also prints this way. This is correct behavior. I cannot have the user export the report to PDF before printing it. This is a production shop, and I can't have folks taking twice as long to do a task. MY QUESTION: How do I instruct, how do I force SSRS to simply render the image as I have presented it and not tinker with it? This is a bit annoying. If my function returns a 200x50 image, SSRS may trust that that is what is t

image.save not saving images

I have a piece of code that writes string into an image and save it. It works on one of my site and but not the other. The image.save is not working. If this is a permission problem, which account should I change? I use win server 2003 and IIS 6, and have given ASPNET, NETWORK SERVICE, and anonymous user write access.

Build an Easy Maintenance Intranet Site: Using Office Docs, File System Object, and OLE Structured S

If you've ever needed to build an easy-to-maintain intranet site, here's a solution based on Microsoft Office documents. Many sites require constant updating of their HTML, but the use of Word documents can simplify the process. This article details the construction of a human resources site that exploits the File System Object (FSO), OLE Structured Storage, and ActiveX capabilities of Word documents. This allows the HR staff to copy their revised or newly created Word files to the site, dynamically generate a list of links to their files, and free IS from the constant recoding of HR updates into new HTML pages.

SSRS 2005 external images won't display - images on DIFFERENT file server

Hi, Been having trouble getting external images to display in reports rendered on SSRS 2005. Images are displayed as a red X. However, my scenario is different from some of the examples I have read about. - The images are stored on a file server that is DIFFERENT from the box on which the Report Service is running. For various business reasons I cannot copy the images locally to the Report Service box. I am using "file://fileserver/path/to/image.jpg" to retrieve the images. - Since the file server does not have IIS installed, I cannot access the images using the URL method (http:// access). I need to use the file:// method. Currently I am prototyping this setup on my test box, which is running XP Pro and IIS 5.1. The Report Service is installed on this same box. I am currently testing this through the Report Manager web site (http://servername/Reports). The images are displayed using the Image control, which I added to the report using the visual report designer in Visual Studio 2005. It is set up with source=External and with "file://fileserver/path/to/image.jpg" path values. File names are retrieved from our database and file paths are built dynamically using a data processing extension I have written. My best guess as to why this is happening is that the ASPNET service account on my test box does not have access to the particular share on the file serve

reading excel file without saving to disk first

Having an issue.  I need to be able to read an excel file from a file upload control but I can not save the file to disk first, it must be done in memory.string excelConnectionstring = @"Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source="; excelConnectionstring += filePath.Replace("/", "\\"); excelConnectionstring += ";Extended Properties='Excel 8.0;HDR=YES;IMEX=1;'"; OleDbConnection con = new OleDbConnection(excelConnectionstring); OleDbDataAdapter da = new OleDbDataAdapter();Above is my code for reading the data file if it IS saved to disk, but again, I have to be able to do this without saving the file to disk, it must be done in memory.  I have not been able to find any sample code anywhere on how to do this from memory, everything seems to force the file be uploaded, saved to disk, and then read in the connection string, which again I can not do.Any advise would be great, thanks in advance.  I'm really in a bind here.

Saving Image File in a Folder on Sever from Client Machine using Sql Server

Hi EveryOne... Can anyone help me Saving an Image file in a Server folder from a client machine using Sql server 2005....

Uploading a file to a document library produces access denied error, but only on first try.

Hi I have a task which uses a custom form which is part of a custom workflow.  The form incorporates an asp fileUpload control to allow a user to browse for a local file which they can then select and it will be upload a file to a folder in a document library.  The first time this action is performed the folder in the document library will not exist so the code creates a folder and then uploads the file to it. The problem I have is, the first time users try and upload a file the directory is created in the document library as expected, but then the user gets redirected to the standard SharePoint Access Denied page.  If the user goes back to the task list, then loads the task web page again, selects the same file and hits upload, then the file is uploaded fine. All subsequent file uploads work fine after that for all users. Users have Contribute permissions on the document library. The code to do the upload is as follows.  The task has a "CR Number" associated with it, which the directory in the doc library should be called.  It uploads the file to a stream.  Then gets the url of the web and works out the file url and uploads it.  The creation and checking of the folder in the doc library happens in the getDirUrl method. /// <summary> /// Processes an uploaded file. /// </summary> /// <param name="

Should time date stamp on .Asmx file change when project is rebuilt?

I have a web service project. The web service is named Recalc.asmx and it has a code behind file namedRecalc.asmx.vb Now if I make a change to my web service .vb code and then recompile the project, should my Recalc.asmx filebe updated as well? In windows explorer I see that the time date stamp of my Racalc.asmx.vb file changes to the date of the last change. But the time date stamp of the Recalc.asmx file does not change? Why is that? My original thinking was that I would simply need to copy the Recalc.asmx file to the test server. But the date stillshows it's original creation date of 7/1/2010 and not the date of the last rebuild as I was hoping it would do?
