HTTP Post and WebService

I am working on a application which will accept the data in the post request. My application also wants to expose a web service and want to call another web service. Considering all these 3 action that I want to do, can I create a single application which will have a web form which will accept the POST request and expose a web service at the same time.

Although it may be possible to achieve this, Is this a correct way of doing it?

Access to path xxx denied when uploading a file using c#

Hi I have a file upload app written in c#. The app runs on IIS on a Windows 2003 Server OS. I want the app to upload the file onto the server (The app and the server are on the same machine). This code has been working fine for a long time running on Windows Server 2000, and Windows XP Professional. Now when I moved onto Windows Server 2003, it stopped working. I have given ASPNET account full access to the folder on the server, and it still gives this error. Is this a bug in 2003, and can anybody assist me? Thanks Shane

SPSearchJobDefinition - Requested registry access is not allowed

Hi   My Sharepoint sever logs a critical error in the event viewer every 5min:   The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.SharePoint.Search.Administration.SPSearchJobDefinition (ID 1a440d58-e28d-4e7c-becb-8dcef428bbf7) threw an exception. More information is included below. Requested registry access is not allowed.   I have searched high and low for any answers but to no avail. Everything else on the server seems to be functioning fine after a lot of setup struggles (the server is our TFS server, with reports and sharepoint all on 1 box)   ANY ideas would be helpful and appreciated   Regards   W

Is it possible to access an Analysis Server with Excel via http?

Hi, in our scenario we want to give another company access to out analysis server via web, their front end should be Excel. So first of all I made a setup like descriped here http://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/library/cc917711(en-us).aspx (but I have really no idea how to test it in an easy way because using MDX sample application ends up every time in "The connection either timed out or was lost.") But apart of that, is it possible to access an analysis server with Excel via http? I did not found any possibility to use a http-adresse in Excel as server path. Any ideas? Thanks and regards Peter

create web service with http-post method

hi All,

we need to expose a web service to the 3rd party vendor which can only call using POST protocol, NOT SOAP.

So my question, is it better to build a web service or just simply .aspx page?

Also is there any best practice documentation on this.
