override wpf button default behavior - blinking on focus

Posted By:      Posted Date: November 16, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WPF

How do you override the default blinking on a wpf button that has focus or on mouseover etc? I tried turning off all default behavior with

<Setter.Property="FocusVisualStyle" Value"{x:Null}" /> and various other style settings, but nothing seems to work.

Run Button Behavior: Suggestion/Bug

Note: This could be a bug or considered as suggestion. I am not looking for solution.

1: I have ImageWatermark.cshtml open and currently in focus.

2: I have Photo1.jpg selected in left Files workspace.

3: Now if I Click "Run", instead of opening ImageWatermark.cshtml it trys to open Photo1.jpg and it fails.

So ideally I would expect the "open file (ImageWatermark.cshtml) to run rather than running the selection from Workspace.

Rectangular Default Windows Button

Hi i am messing a bit with styles. I think the following code should make the normal "Button" rectangular, but on my Windows 7 machine only the left side of the button. The blue focus rectangle never changes its rounded corners. <Button> <Button.Resources> <Style TargetType="theme:ButtonChrome"> <Setter Property="RoundCorners" Value="False" /> </Style> </Button.Resources> Rectgangle Button </Button>  I used ' xmlns:theme="clr-namespace:Microsoft.Windows.Themes;assembly=PresentationFramework.Aero" '. modify/override properties of default sharepoint modal dialogs (ex. editview.aspx) using javascript

Hello all, I would like to know how can I modify (override) some properties of the default sharepoint modal dialogs using Javascript. Ex. the size and location of editview.aspx. I while ago I asked a question about overriding the DialogResult in the display view dialog. I got an answer from Zach which looked like this:             sb.Append("<script type=\"text/javascript\">");             sb.Append(@"window.setTimeout(function () {");             sb.Append(@"if (window.frameElement && typeof(window.frameElement.overrideDialogResult) == 'function')");             sb.Append(@"{");             sb.Append(@"SP.SOD.executeFunc('sp.ui.dialog.js', 'SP.UI.DialogResult.OK', function () {");             sb.Append(@"window.frameElement.overrideDialogResult(SP.UI.DialogResult.OK); ");             sb.Append(@"});");             sb.Append(@"}");

HttpWebRequest default behavior wrt proxies

Does the HttpWebRequest class perform any automatic proxy handling?  In other words, if an application doesn't explicitly provide proxy settings via the Proxy property or via an application .config file, what is .NET's default behavior with respect to proxies?  For example, does .NET make any attempt on its own to obtain settings from IE/default browser, or autoproxy mechanisms (i.e., PAC, WPAD)?

Unexpected WPF Button Trigger behavior

I have created a custom button style with triggers for "Keyboard Focus" and "IsMouseOver".

If I give keyboard control to one button while the mouse is over the other, the style works fine. However, as soon as I do "press" the button that has keyboard focus using the space key, the style for the button that is being moused over is reverted as if the control did not have the mouse over. Once the pressed button is released, the mouse over button reverts to the expected style.

This behavior does not occur in other windows programs, e.g. visual studio where the moused over control retains its style.

Here is some sample code to reproduce the issue and the steps:

1. Place mouse over button labeled "Another Button".

2. Press the tab key until the button labeled "One Button" has the style for keyboard focus.

3. Press the space key to trigger the style change for the "One Button" to the "Pressed Button" style. Hold the space bar.

At this point the "Another Button" loses the style for "Mouse Over".

unwanted focus on a button

i have a gridview where textboxes are dynamically generated and i have a button under the gridview. When i write in those textbox and press tab button(i want to replace it with Enter button) the focus goes to the textbox in the next row.But the problem is that when the focus goes to gridview the button automatically behaves as the default button for the gridview, so when i press enter the button is automatically clicked. Auto-complete extender and default button of a panel - Enter key issues

Hi. I have a text box with an auto-complete extender attached to it. This is in a panel. Now, I have set the default button of the panel to the submit button of the panel.

<panel>

      <text box/>

      <autocompleteextender/>

      <button/>

</panel>

Now, I find that when the auto-complete options show up and I try to select an option using the enter key, the button is pressed (triggering a postback) due to it being the defaultbutton of the panel.

I want to be able to select an aut-complete option using the enter key and yet not post back. Therefore, the enter key (when the text box is in focus) should not trigger a postback. How can I achieve this?

System.Windows.Forms.ListBox scroll-to-top on focus - how can I prevent this behavior?

Greetings,

I've been trying to find a solution online for the last couple days and I'm surprised at how little there is on this topic -- namely, I'm trying to prevent the default behavior of ListBoxes scrolling to the top whenever they regain focus.

I've created a toolbar-like control that is docked on the left-hand side of my screen.  This vertical toolbar is comprised of several ListBoxes, and each ListBox is collapsible (much like the Visual Studio designer toolbar).  The problem is, if I click on an item on a ListBox that is partially off the top of the screen, the entire toolbar scrolls so that the first item in that particular ListBox is at the top, so your mouse is no longer over the item you originally wished to select.

I'm trying to figure out a way to prevent this behavior.  Any suggestions?

Can't override a default value of a text box function

I have a text box that calculates the default value based on the values of other fields. I need the ability to override this default value and enter in a static value. The problem is when I enter in my static value and save the form, close it and reopen the form the calculated value shows instead of the static value I entered.

Any idea what might be causing this?

How override inheritance from Default.Master page? How override default.master function acting on ju

 There is this one function that i can't remove from the Default.master page because other forms in the project use it and are happy to inherit from it. But in one form it messes up the layout as it injects a line below every text box to tell the user how many characters he's typed and how near the 1000 char limit he is. For this form we dont' need or want that on every asp:textbox. How can i keep the rest of the inheritance from Default.Master but exclude or avoid or override this function acting on textbox controls in this one form?

Here's the function as given in the default.master page, fyi:

$(init:

function() {var countdown = {function() {//alert($(countdown.obj).attr('id'));

countdown.remaining = countdown.max - $(countdown.obj).val().length;

$(countdown.obj).val($(countdown.obj).val().substring(0, countdown.max));

countdown.remaining = 0;

}

How to override functionality of the Ribbon Save button ?

Dear all,

I have a custom editform for my library which I generated using SharePoint Designer.

This custom form also includes the Save button on the form itself along with the the ribbon save button. I need to add additional functionality to my save.

The button on the form is a SharePoint:SaveButton webcontrol...

< SharePoint:SaveButton runat="server"/>

I can override this adding my own functionality like this

public class CustomSaveButton : SaveButton
{
 Control c;
 protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e)
 {
	base.OnInit(e);
 }

 protected override bool SaveItem()
 {
	// Do the custom code here..
	return base.SaveItem();
 }
}

After this I can add back my custom save to the form.. like below

<%@Assembly Name="CustomOverrideControls, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=uhdsksuew9832iwe82" %>

<CustomOverrideControls:CustomSaveButton TemplateName="SaveButtonNew" runat="server"/>

All this is fine.. but what if the user skips this button and clicks on the 'Save' button on the Ribbon.. my custom code will not be executed :(

Question is how can I override the save functionality of the Ribbon Save button ?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

mano
