I am trying to install sharepoint server 2007 on windows server 2008 r2,I downloaded the version of sharepoint that contains service pack2,after the installation finished, message displayed that mssql\officeservers cant be found?
Must I install sql server 208 before installing sharepoint,is sql express that is already installed with sharepoint 2007 not compatible with windows server 2008 r2
I created a page in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. I want to change the title that displays at the top of the page. I chose "Edit Toolbar Properties", but it does not let me change the title. I went into the page's properties and renamed
the "file" that contains the page. But, that did not change the actual title that displays on the page.
I want to search a custom field in a SharePoint list by using the Advanced Search page. I followed this post http://interdata.cl/?p=368 and i was able to find all metadata properties without any blank. For example, I´ve created columns called
"Baseline", or "Milestone" and it works properly, but for example, "Document Code" doesn´t works.
The field shows up correctly in the Advanced Search properties, but whenever I do a search trying to specify my custom property I get the error message: "Your search cannot be completed because of a service error. Try your search again or contact your administrator
for more information.".
if I look at the Managed property in Central administration, it tells me "Number of objects with this property: more than 350", so the data is mapped correctly to the property.
Thanks in advance,
All, before I get into the questions here is an overview of the server I am using and the services it is currently running, which are minimal.
Server 2008 R2 Standard
Active Directory Enabled
Single Domain controller
64 Bit OS
(Future) DHCP Server
1. I inherited this server, so how can I verify that I have a full installation, or just a server core installation?
2. I know that the .NET framwork is not installed, but again before I get to far along; there are some things I would like to know in advance. Since I have only one server which has the services mentioned above, is it safe/reliable to run WSS
3.0 and SQL Express on it?
3. If I am not mistaken, WSS 3.0 installs SQL Express as well. I know that a backend DB server is the optimal approach, but I just don't have another server to use. Is this approach safe? SQL on the same box as WSS 3.0? I thought I read some place that Microsoft
didn't support such installations. Perhaps it was something else the article referred to.
I suppose the questions will be irrelevant if I am not running on a full installation.
Thanks for your responses.
