Business Data Error: System.OverFlowException

I have a Business Data Catalog file I've uploaded to connect to our back end Firebird DBMS through ODBC.

The SharePoint server is MOSS 2007 x64. The web front end server(s) all have an x64 Firebird Engine and ODBC driver with verified connectivity to Firebird.

When I use one of the methods, I can see connections being made to our Firebird server and the query being passed. I know the query returns results (it's a stored procedure with no parameters), but I get the following error "An error occurred while retrieving data from MROTest1. Administrators, see the server log for more information" in IE. If I look in the server logs, I see (12\Hive\Logs)

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Bulk load data was expected but not sent

Hi everyone We've had this error twice now from our C# code. Nothing is changing the columns, but I've noticed though that it appears to happen when two threads are attempting to bulk insert into the same table, generally millions of rows. The docs say that SqlBulkCopy.WriteToServer is not guaranteed to be thread-safe, but is this the problem here? It feels like it. I've seen some posts where people appeared to have experienced problems in similar circumstances (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sqldatabaseengine/thread/85d51484-6381-46bc-bcce-63b58b362d2d). There is no identity column just a non-unique clustered index that is (spid) process keyed to each thread. Do I need to synchronise access to the table for WriteToServer - is this a known problem? SQL ServerDestination error - Unable to prepare the SSIS bulk insert for data insertion.

Having searched the forum, this one clearly has form... However beyond assisting those who have fallen at the first hurdle (i.e. forgetting/not knowing that they cannot execute the package remotely to the instance of SQL Server into which they are inserting), the issues raised by others have not been addressed. Thus I am bringing nothing new to the table here - just providing an executive summary of problems which others have run into, written about, but not received answers for.   First the complete error: Description: Unable to prepare the SSIS bulk insert for data insertion.  End Error  Error: 2008-01-15 04:55:27.58     Code: 0xC004701A     Source: <xxx> DTS.Pipeline     Description: component "<xxx> failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0xC0202071.  End Error  DTExec: The package execution returned DTSER_FAILURE (1).  Started:  4:53:34 AM  Finished: 5:00:00 AM  Elapsed:  385.384 seconds.  The package execution failed.  The step failed.   Important points It mostly works - It produces no error more than 9 times out of 10. It fails on random dataflows - My package has several dataflows, (mostly) executing concurrently. Where the error occurs it does not do so on the same dataflow each time: on one run it'll fail on dataflow A whilst B,C,D and E succeed, then A-E will all succeed (and continue doing so for the next ten runs thereafter), and

Creating assembly throwing an error as system.directoryservices assembly is not in the SQL Server

Hi, I am trying to create an assembly (DLL file that created by C# ) which uses System.DirectoryServices assembly. When I try with following script Create ASSEMBLY Addresstype From 'C:\ActiDirectoryFunctions\ActiveDirectoryFunctions.dll' I am getting following Error Assembly 'ActiveDirectoryFunctions' references assembly 'system.directoryservices, version=2.0.0.0, culture=neutral, publickeytoken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a.', which is not present in the current database. SQL Server attempted to locate and automatically load the referenced assembly from the same location where referring assembly came from, but that operation has failed (reason: 2(The system cannot find the file specified.)). Please load the referenced assembly into the current database and retry your request. From above error message, I learnt that System.DirectoryServices assembly is not in the SQL Server. I am using SQL SERVER 2005 SP2 and .Net Framework 3 is there in the machine How to manually add this assembly into this SQL Server Machine? Please let me know if you know Thank you, Raj Dreaming a world without any war in anywhere

Directory lookup for the file failed with the operating system error 5

Hi I have a Windows desktop application that uses a SQLServer Express database.  The database files are downloaded from my website, followed by the application download (written in VBE).  The first procedure is to attach the database to the SQLServer instance from within the application. I have two test machines one runs Windows XP x84, the other Windows 7 x64.  I never have issues on attaching the database files in my test envirnoment but twice now other people downloading have got the following error System.Data.Sqlclient.sqlexception (ox 80131904) Directory lookup for the file C:\Documtents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\Tem1.mdf failed with the operating system error 5 (failed to retrieve text for this error. Reason 1815) changed database context to 'master'. I'm not sure what the problem is and therefore how to correct the issue.  I attach the database in code using the create statement e.g. cmd7.CommandText = "USE Master CREATE DATABASE Tem1 ON PRIMARY (FILENAME = '" & DBFullPath & "') LOG ON (FILENAME = '" & DbLogPath & "') FOR ATTACH" Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated. System.InvalidOperationException: Internal .Net Framework Data Provider error 12.

Hi,

I have created an application in which there are few forms. Each form has fields which are linked to a backend table/tables. My application is supposed to be accessed by multiple users concurrently. I ran a test where I created a class file in windows application and i ran a for loop in it to call the url of my application. I wanted to test the effect of firing around 200 queries to my query engine.

The test code is :

namespace MachineGun

{

static class Program

{

/// The main entry point for the application.

SQLServer Error: 15404 with Active Directory

Hello,

I'm having trouble running jobs with my active directory (ADS) account. I've setup my SQL services to run under an ADS account, but jobs cannot seem to query ADS for user information. We're running Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2005 SP2.

 Here is the error message:

==

The job failed.  Unable to determine if the owner (ADS\me) of job eFASRtest has server access (reason: Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user 'ADS\me', error code 0x5. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 15404)).

==

also this message in log:

==

[298] SQLServer Error: 15404, Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user 'ADS\me, error code 0x5. [SQLSTATE 42000] (ConnIsLoginSysAdmin)

==

I have done a *lot* of searching and cannot find the solution. I believe the 0x5 code is access denied.

The same job runs if I change the owner to a SQL login that's not an ADS account.

I'm not certain how to confirm that the SQL Agent account is the account actually querying ADS, also.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

 Thanks,

-Tony

Populate Drop-Down list box from Active Directory Data Connection?

Hi,

I recently created a data connection to my active directory, so that certain fields can be automatically populated given the user who is filling in the form.

However, I would like to have a drop-down box that is populated from Active Directory (i.e. the user of the form can select another AD member), the result of which will then populate other fields (with information such as Manager, Email Address, etc).

So, 2 questions:

  1. How do I get a drop-down list to populate with the members of AD?
  2. How do I get the result of this selection to populate other fields?
Cheers again - you guys are great!
