Incoming email settings on Application Template: Help Desk

I've installed the Help Desk application template and created a new
site based on it.  All looks great except that I can't figure out how
to set the site to receive incoming emails which would in turn create
a new service request.  Hopefully it's there and I'm just not seeing
it.

TIA for your help.

Incoming Email Issue

I just installed Windows 7.  Often I get a notice indicating an incoming Email cannot be opened on my system.  I know some are safe since they include Microsoft, windows, friends, etc.  I must download each and add to my safe list.   Does anyone have a solution?

Configure incoming e-mail settings - Error File Not Found?

Hello I am trying to setup a test server for SharePoint 2010 and I have followed the MS instructions for deploying a single SharePoint 2010 server with SQL server. I have had no problems or errors during the setup; however now going through the recomended post installation task of configuring incoming email settings I am getting an error message. I have added the SMTP service to the server, configured it in IIS then gone back to the SharePoint central administration page. When I click Configure incoming e-mail settings under System Settings I get the following error message. Error File Not Found. Correlation ID: cc08f335-6762-4c70-a690-ecfd012ec3c2 I have no idea what is causing this so have no way to resolve it, any help would be really appreciated.   Thanks

Site FAQ: Email Notification Settings

There are several settings that come into play with email notifications coming from the ASP.NET forums:Edit Profile (http://forums.asp.net/user/EditProfile.aspx)1. Receive Emails: [ ] Yes  [ ] No - This is the master email switch. Setting this to [ ] No will prevent ALL forums-related emails from being sent to you, including password reset emails (if you find yourself in that situation, please use the site's Contact form to request password reset assistance).  Setting this back to [ ] Yes will allow emails to once again be sent to you.  This setting could be handy if you will be away from the ASP.NET Forums for a while and are not interested in receiving emails from the site while you are away.2. Receive rich (HTML) emails [ ] Yes [ ] No - This affects only the format in which emails are sent.  It has no bearing on whether or not emails are sent.  If [ ] No is chosen, the email will be sent in plain text.3. Enable Email Notifications of forum/thread subscriptions and replies to my posts. [ ] Yes  [ ] No - This is the default value of thread subscriptions. This value is checked only at the time of your first post to a thread, and the thread subscription is set to this value. Changing this value has no effect on any existing thread subscriptions. To discontinue (or start) receiving email notifications for a particular thread, see #5 below.&n

SharePoint 3.0 document libary imcoming email settings

I am having problems with a SharePoint site. I was able to create incoming emails on the site for a document library. The server was on an SAN solution and it got corrupted. The site was restored. I am able to create incoming email settings on the central admin page. The problem is when I go into the site I cannot create incoming email settings. The ones that were created before the server crashed works fiine. I cannot create any new ones. The question that I have is this a permission issue for the site ?

Configure Incoming Email in SharePoint 2010 with a remote (public) SMTP Server

I have a standalone SharePoint 2010 Installation on my local network. Have configured the SMTP Services and a SMTP domain called "internalcompany.com". Created a hosts file entry also for that - now outlook is able to send emails to this domain; it reaches the drop folder and from there SharePoint picks it up and pushes to the document libraries. So far so good. But obviously this is not what I want to do: my www.company.com is my public domain and mail server is mail.company.com - how do I get the local SMTP point to this address - so that if someone sends an email to shareddocs@company.com (just like any other normal id), it comes to my local server and then SharePoint. How do I do this? Remember, my server is standalone and my network is not domain based and does not have exchange.Karthick

incoming email - multiple email addresses

is it possible to have more than 1 email address specified as the incoming email address for a library?

How do you extract data from the xml attachment of an incoming email and set it as metadata in a doc

Hi, I currently have a document library that contains InfoPath forms. As a form is loaded into the document library I need the data to be extracted from the infopath file and then set as properties/metadata of the file. The infopath forms will be sent to the SharePoint site as an email attachment. So basically, an email is sent to the SharePoint server with an InfoPath form as an email attachment. The InfoPath form needs to be extracted from the email and uploaded to the document library and at the same time updating the document library metadata with the infopath form data. This has been done using Visual Studio but can this be done using SharePoint Designer 2010 now that we have upgraded our site to SharePoint 2010? Any guidance will be greatly appreciated! Thanks Michael

Incoming email to SharePoint - what am I missing?

I am able to send email from the internet to my Exchange box yet unable to send to SharePoint libraries and lists.  I want users to send to the addresses of mylibrary@work.net, yet my Exchange domain and box name is domainex.domain.com and my SharePoint box is named domainsp.domain.com.   Here are my settings: SharePoint Box Name:   domainsp.domain.com Central Admin incoming mail settings:  server field is set to domainsp.domain.com, friendly email address is set to mylist@mywork.net Incoming mail settings on library: set to receive mail at libraryname@mywork.net Exchange Box Name:  domainex.domain.com Attended domain:   mywork.net Send connector address space: domainsp.domain.com (sharepoint box) Send connector smart host: domainsp.domain.com (sharepoint box) Mail contact: SMTP external address of libraryname@mywork.net   DNS MX record of mywork.net pointing to Exchange box   I'm sure something is wrong, but I'm not sure what! My bounceback email tells me that the mailbox of mylibrary@work.net is unavailable or not local.  Giving up on <ip address for exchange box>.   Please help!  I don't know what to do next!
