Cannot apply filter on SP dashboard using the 'Budgeting and Tracking Multiple Projects' template

Posted By:      Posted Date: November 04, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

The 'Budgeting and Tracking Multiple Projects'  template provides a dashboard that tracks all projects and their associated tasks/costs/issues etc. Unfortunately this does not filter by the project status so will be a continuous list forever long. I wanted to apply a filter such that only items where the status = Open is displayed. I tried this in SPD but adding filters would not work. If I add a rule to say = Open, nothing is displayed or if i enter != Complete then everything is displayed regardless. Additionally, sort conditions are not recognised either. a similar problem was posted on another forum with no answer. the problem is described in full detail.

RPC and C++: Build a Template Library for Distributed Objects Containing Multiple Interfaces

Building a C++ template library for developing distributed object-oriented applications using Remote Procedure Calls (RPC) allows the programmer to design RPC applications that are composed of components that implement multiple interfaces. This article demonstrates the use of techniques such as assembly-level thunks to build machine code on the fly, and C++ features such as templates, conversion operators, virtual destructors and virtual function tables. Along the way, familiar C++ interfaces and classes are transformed into a distributed application. The benefits of using distributed objects rather than raw remote procedures, which include writing fewer lines of code, is explained.

Filter search over multiple text columns

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a library that stores information on various cases. The case table has several columns that contain descriptive strings on what happened in the case. I would like to create a single filter that returns all cases where the search string is found in any of the columns. I've looked at Dynamic Data Filtering, but as far as I can tell, the "Contains" filter only allows you to connect to each column individually. Has anyone tried this?

How to create single wsp for multiple projects sharepoint 2010 solution

We have multiple projects (4 projects) in single sharepoint 2010 solution. We want to create single wsp deployment for this. But when I right click on any project, it creates package means wsp on its own. How to create single wsp for multiple projects sharepoint 2010 solution? Is wsp builder which we are using for sharepoint 2007 project (works really great) also works in sharepoint 2010?

Error When Deploying Multiple Projects in a Solution

We have a solution with 16 projects, where all but 3 are Sharepoint 2010 projects. When we deploy the projects in VS2010 individually, everything is fine, but when we deploy the solution (right-click, deploy), we experience one of two problems: 1. Not all projects get deployed, some just give the following message: "Deployment was not performed for this project because it is a dependent project." 2. Some of the projects (currently always the same three Sharepoint2010 projects) give the following error during the "Recycle IIS Application Pool" step: "Error occurred in deployment step 'Recycle IIS Application Pool': The open operation did not complete within the allotted timeout of 00:01:00. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout." We don't have any dependencies set up in the projects except for the ones which are automatically created when we add project references. If we do two subsequent solution deployments, the first one will suffer from issue 1 and the second from issue 2 as well. When issue 2 happens, the faulty projects can't even be deployed individually until VS2010 has been restarted.   A Google search has revealed nothing at all. We're at a loss and it's getting to be very frustrating for the entire team. Any help would be appreciated.   Thanks, Bjoern

WPF Datagrid with multiple row selection/checkbox column template

Hello, I am using the WPF Toolkit Datagrid with a checkbox defined in a template column/template cell. We are using the checkbox template so that selecting the checkbox will also highlight the row in the datagrid. Here is the template definition: <dg:DataGridTemplateColumn MinWidth="50" Width="Auto" Header="" CanUserReorder="False"> <dg:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <CheckBox IsChecked="{Binding Path=IsCheckedm, Mode=TwoWay}" /> </DataTemplate> </dg:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> </dg:DataGridTemplateColumn> We are allowing multiple row selection in the datagrid and using MVVM (using MVVM Light). We would like to keep a list in the View Model of selected rows as they are selected/unselected. Any suggestions on how we can leverage MVVM to keep the list of selected/unselected elements current. Many Thanks --Sam

How to I apply an XAML declared animation to multiple controls dynamically?

Hello, How to I apply an XAML declared animation to multiple controls dynamically? Here is the XAML declared animation: <Window.Resources> <Storyboard x:Key="TextBlock_SB"> <DoubleAnimation Storyboard.TargetName="TextBlock_1" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(TextBlock.Opacity)" From="1.0" To="0.75" Duration="0:0:0.5" AutoReverse="True" RepeatBehavior="Forever" /> </Storyboard> Here is the code that starts the animation for TextBlock_1: (this.Resources["TextBlock_SB"] as Storyboard).Begin(); I want to apply the same storyboard/animation to TextBlock_2 and TextBlock_3 and perhaps others.  How do I do that without defining more XAML storyboards? Projects Web Database Site Template immediate error

I decided to explore the Projects Web Database site template - clicked to create the site, and immediately, received an "an error has occurred." message on almost every tab of the site. What am I missing?  Am I supposed to configure something before I create this type of site?   I get this error in the event viewer: Log Name:      Application Source:        Microsoft-SharePoint Products-Access Services Date:          9/8/2010 10:03:43 PM Event ID:      3 Task Category: Data Layer     Access Services: An unexpected error occurred. Exception message: There is a compatibility range mismatch between the Web server and database "WSS_Content_PT", and connections to the data have been blocked to due to this incompatibility. This can happen when a content database has not been upgraded to be within the compatibility range of the Web server, or if the database has been upgraded to a higher level than the web server. The Web server and the database must be upgraded to the same version and build level to return to compatibility range.   Any help is appreciated!  Thanks!

How to filter a List View by multiple values for one filter field?

Hi, I need to create a dynamically created link to a List View with a filter on one field, but with multiple values. Example: http://<server>/Lists/<list>/Allitems.aspx?FilterField1=Name&FilterValue1=John/Jack/Jonas which should give me all items where Name equals John, Jack or Jonas. Is this even possible?

group on or filter multiple datasets in 1 table?

I am fairly new to using BIDS, so please bear with me. I currently have 2 datasets, and 1 table.  The layout of the table is: Header HeaderGroup1 HeaderGroup2 Details FooterGroup2 FooterGroup2 Footer Group1 Footer Group1 Footer This is working, but what I need to do is figure out a way to add another Footer Group2 that includes an expression which involves either using data from a 3rd data set because of needing a different filter, or figuring out a way to filter the same data set twice in the one table.   I can give more specific info if you let me know what you need. Thanks!

Using the Inventory Tracking Template - how to edit the "log a sale" form

We are using the Inventory Tracking Template.  Although its a good form as is there are a few modifications that would make it even better.

When you use the "Log a sale" feature - the new form pops up with the title "Transactions: New Item"   - every item has an associated Category.   We have many items and need a way to filter them so the user doesn't have to scroll through so many items.  I thought using the category field would be best.   In a perfect world the user selects the category in the form and then the form only shows the items in that category that are available.  How do i acomplish this?

Thanks in advance for your help (and patience)

Is there a way to query entity based on multiple filter criteria? WCF Data Services, Linq to Entiti

Instead of:

DW_CMSOPEN dwc = new DW_CMSOPEN(new Uri("http://acctdev02/WCFDataService/EmployeeService.svc"));

dwc.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials;

var employees = from emp in dwc.Employees
             where emp.DEPT == "123"
             select emp;

I'd like the linq query to resemble:

var employees = from emp in dwc.Employees
              where emp.DEPT // in {"123", "456", etc}
              select emp;

Apply a Filter in a Select statement Problem

Hello all

I need to select some rows from a table and apply a distinct on two of the columns (keeping the most recent one) and get all the attributes of the selected rows.

for example

if I have a table with the following rows and coloumns

1 1 1 1/1/2010
2 1 1 2/1/2010
3 1 2 1/1/2010

I need to do a select distinct on columns A and B keeping the most recent row and return all the coloumns of the selected rows

so i need the result to be rows 2 and 3 and discard row 1 because there is another row (2) having the same data in columns A and B and the other row (2) is more recent.

I tryed creating a veiw, use a common table expression and create a stored procedure...

but my knowledge with sql is limited and cannot get the result i want...

Is there a way of getting that result without having to change the database structure?

Any suggestions are welcome
