No "Site Actions" Menu Available in Sharepoint 2007

I installed Sharepoint Designer 2007 on my home pc. It does not have the "Site Actions" menu. I originally created my Web site (I upload files via FTP) using MS Frontpage. How do I change the theme created in MS Frontpage? Or, how do I find the "Site Actions" menu?

Any help will be appreciated.

Add "New Calendar" to the site actions menu in SharePoint 2010

I really like how SharePoint 2010 uses Silverlight to allow users to create a new Document Library from the Site Actions menu. I would like to alter the v4.master page and add a new menu item to the Site Actions menu that allows the user to create a new Calendar. How do I alter the code below to make a new menu item that will create an events list? <SharePoint:MenuItemTemplate runat="server" id="MenuItem_CreateDocLib" Text="<%$Resources:wss,siteactions_createdoclib%>" Description="<%$Resources:wss,siteactions_createdoclibdesc%>" ImageUrl="/_layouts/images/NewDocLibHH.png" MenuGroupId="200" Sequence="220" UseShortId="true" ClientOnClickScriptContainingPrefixedUrl="if (LaunchCreateHandler('DocLib')) { GoToPage('~site/_layouts/new.aspx?FeatureId={00bfea71-e717-4e80-aa17-d0c71b360101}&ListTemplate=101') }" PermissionsString="ManageLists" PermissionMode="Any" VisibilityFeatureId="00BFEA71-E717-4E80-AA17-D0C71B360101" />

Hide top menu search bar in Sharepoint server 2010

Hi I've tryed this guide to hide the top menu search bar with Sharepoint Designer in Sharepoint server 2010 ------------------------------ Open SharePoint Designer Open the site in SharePoint Designer On the left navigation pane, click on “All Files” (bottom item on menu) Click on the folder “_catalogs” Click on the folder “masterpage” Click on the file “v4.master” An overview will open Make sure that you have selected “Split mode” viewing Click on “Edit file” (I hope this is correct, because I have a Dutch version) Select “Skewer click” on the ribbon When you click on a item, you are presented with a submenu. Select in this case, the Help-button, “a#TopHelpLink” For the Search-field, you have to select “div#s4-searcharea.s4-search s4-rp”. In the code properties screen, on the right side, select Style And set visibility to “hidden” Save your master file. ------------------------------ But it dosn't work, it puts a little red line under "hidden", Like if y

Branding SharePoint 2010 - Ribbon tool bar twice on search site

Hello everyone! I'm branding a SharePoint 2010 site and I'm stuck in a problem. The ribbon tool bar is appearing twice on the top of my search sub-site. Everywhere else is good (appearing just once). I did review all my code on the master page and everything seems to be good. Also compared the custom master page with a "v4.master" and all the sharepoint controls and placeholders are just exactly the same. Any ideas of what's going on? Here's the image: From

SharePoint - Hide items in 'Site Actions' menu

I would like to hide a number of items currently listed in the 'Site Actions' menu of a publishing site I've created.

I've deployed a feature that adds a link to the 'Site Actions' menu that links to a custom application.

In this feature would I be able to also specify which 'Site Actions' items to hide?

SharePoint Application and Site Pages - Part 1 of 2

In this first part of the two part series, Steven covers the differences between Site and Application pages in SharePoint 2007, why each may be used in various circumstances, and prepares for the construction of a menu located application page. After a brief introduction he examines the concept of Site Pages and Application Pages separately in detail with supported screenshots.

SharePoint Application and Site Pages - Part 2 of 2

As the second article in a two part series, Steven examines the attributes and details of a SharePoint 2007 application page, including the construction and feature deployment of the same page based project. Since this is a WSS level objective, as opposed to MOSS, you will not need MOSS to work with the code included in this project. Windows Server 2003, WSS, and Visual Studio 2005 are all that is needed, with no additional add-ons. He provides a detailed analysis of each step involved in the creation and deployment of the project.

SharePoint Portal Server 2001: Search and Access Disparate Data Repositories in Your Enterprise

The knowledge worker is greatly empowered if she is able to access information across the enterprise from a central access point. With the SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Search Service you can catalogue information stored in Exchange public folders, on the Web, in the file system, and even in Lotus Notes databases. This article discusses the use of ActiveX Data Objects and the Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning protocol for creating search solutions based on SharePoint Portal Server 2001.

Office Sharepoint Server Search not working but Windows Server Search is.

I am having an annoying Issue with the Sharepoint 2007 Enterprise search functionality. I cannot get the Search Centre to work, the out of the box webparts crash the page except the Searchbox when the others are closed. The event viewer shows up numerous Errors (Office Sharepoint Server - EventID 7080) returns with and the same when trying to add a search related web part (e.g. core.results, federated etc). EventID 6398 - Timer is a regular as is 7080. Details below.

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified).

Remote connections are connected, I am not 100% on the Instance name, (how would I go about checking this?)

Also I cannot access the link to SharedServices1 - Open Shared Services Admin site (not clickable), guess it's permissions but I seem to have full site permissions, I think I need SSP-Admin to make more edits to the Search, maybe this is related :s

Both Search Servers are runnig, I have tried everything I can think of to fix this and allow the Search Centre to work.

I am running Sharepoint 2007 on SQL Server 2008.

Sharepoint 2007 - Wiki site - New Pages Not Inheriting Custom Master Page

I am working on a SP site (MOSS not WSS) which is heavily customised away from the OOTB layout. I need to create a Wiki site, which was going well - I've created a master page which displays the miniconsole (this was not visible with our customised layout), and made it the default master page for the site. This has been applied to the two standard pages that come with the Wiki site, however when a new page is created, it seems to inherit the default.master, rather than my custom master page - thus not showing the miniconsole.

When I have created a new page, I am able to use SharePoint Designer to attach my custom master page to it, which works perfectly, however this will not be a viable option going forward as end-users create their new wiki pages.

How can I get the new pages to inherit my master page when they are created?
