Is it possible to access SharePoint Workspace data from a silverlight out-of-browser application?
We need to have data offline and be able to sync it back later on. Data is stored in external lists and we want to be able to read and write to the external lists offline from a more user friendly GUI such as a Silverlight application. Infopath forms can not do the advanced GUI things we want to do, therefore it is not an option.
Hi: Just using the GUI in WSS 3.0, is it possible to copy an entire list including content from one site to another - asssuming I have admin rights to both sites? If so, how does one go about it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

1. I have enabled FBA for my sharepoint site.
2. But whenever I tried to add WSDL reference it is showing the below errror. But I am able to add reference if it is not FBA enabled.
The document at the url http://blrkec107225d:12857/_vti_bin/lists.asmx?WSDL was not recognized as a known document type. The error message from each known type may help you fix the problem: - Report from 'XML Schema' is 'Root element is missing.'. - Report from 'DISCO Document' is 'Root element is missing.'. - Report from 'WSDL Document' is 'There is an error in XML document (0, 0).'. - Root element is missing. Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'http://blrkec107225d:12857/_vti_bin/lists.asmx?WSDL'. The server did not provide a meaningful reply; this might be caused by a contract mismatch, a premature session shutdown or an internal server error. If the service is defined in the current solution, try building the solution and adding the service reference again.
Can anyone help me on this.
Here's a custom branding solution for SharePoint sites that integrates Master Pages and CSS files at the level of the site collection.

Hello everyon,
I am working sith WSS 3.0.
I have one webapplication with one sitecollection.Later i wanted to provide it HTTPS URL, so i extended the WebApplication with option-Yes in SSl field.
And in the virtlay directory properties -> Directory Security -> Secure communications -> Edit
selected Required Secure Chanel.
Thats it. I didn't do anything in that.
Then because of some problems , i deleted the iis website of extended webapplication from central admin.
After that when ever i try to open the site, it shows service unavailable. And the application pool is getting disabled.
Please help me to get the site working.
Thanks in advance.
I have a desktop gadget which is working fine on Win7. I need a help in adding the same desktop gadget in the SharePoint (2007) site. I went through different forums and came to know that the gadget can be added to the SharePoint site by using a Content Editor. But all of them focus on showing how to add a Google Web gadget or other third party Web gadget.
First of all, is it possible to achieve this requirement?
If its possible, could you please explain (provide steps) me, how to add a desktop gadget in a SharePoint site.
Thanks in advance..
Hi,
We currently installed the security patch MS10 - 046, and this made the sharepoint sites down..........anything that we need to make, so that Site will be up?
I am modifying a SharePoint site and so far so good. Some of the objects were created using Visual Studio 2008 (C#). I was able to modify these objects and implement them on the targete machine without issue. The final step is to implement the ASPX pages that were modified using SharePoint Designer 2007. These are aspx pages that are used to modify items in lists. All the pages involved in this upgrade are customized. I need to upgrade the target site with the modified version of these pages. My intent is to copy the code from the page in the source site and past it into the same page on the target site. I tried using the Remote Web Site connection tool in SharePoint Designer 2007 but received the following error message:
"Unable to open 'https://(site address)'. Server Error: Could not find a Web server at 'website'. Please check to make sure that the Web server name is valid and your proxy settings are set correctly. If you are sure that everything is correct, the Web server may be temporarily out of service."
I am not sure how to first check to see if the Web Server is temporarily out of service. I would appreciate your input on how to verify this.
Background information of target machine: WinServer 2008, IIS 7, Sharepoint (MOSS2007), site on port 80
I am working on a SP site (MOSS not WSS) which is heavily customised away from the OOTB layout. I need to create a Wiki site, which was going well - I've created a master page which displays the miniconsole (this was not visible with our customised layout), and made it the default master page for the site. This has been applied to the two standard pages that come with the Wiki site, however when a new page is created, it seems to inherit the default.master, rather than my custom master page - thus not showing the miniconsole.
When I have created a new page, I am able to use SharePoint Designer to attach my custom master page to it, which works perfectly, however this will not be a viable option going forward as end-users create their new wiki pages.
How can I get the new pages to inherit my master page when they are created?
