My Application Details:

I developed a VSTO Word 2007 add-in application which consumes WCF web service and render report in word document.

I deployed my VSTO Word 2007 add-in application using Click Once  technology.

WCF Service is hosted in IIS7 my IIS7 server is configured in a load balancer environment.

This application was released to production and running successfully for all clients as of.

But one of my new client is facing problem and getting the following error "There was no endpoint listening at <http://app.domain.com/api.svc.> that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. "

This issue is not coming for any other clients except this new client.

The requested service, 'http://localhost:32843/SecurityTokenServiceApplication/securitytoken.svc/ac

I just installed SP 2010 and was running fine.  All the sudden I was getting a 500 respnose when I would browse to a site.  The only event that I can recall that might have sparked this issue was changing the administrator password.  The administrator account is not tied to SharePoint as a service account etc.  I have installed all the necessary updates / hotfixes that are required for installation. Here's the error from the log. Thanks.

An exception occurred when trying to issue security token: The requested service, 'http://localhost:32843/SecurityTokenServiceApplication/securitytoken.svc/actas' could not be activated. See the server's diagnostic trace logs for more information..

When I go to the URL in the error I get the following error:

Help pls, I’m trying to add a service reference to a WCF service hosted on a server.

This is the url I’m using to try and add the service reference

This is the configuration file

I have tried http://xxxx/xxx/Services/MyService.svc from url and it is shows its WSDL.

A connection could not be made to the report server http://localhost/ReportServer.

Hi,

  • I created a Report using Business Intelligence Studio. Its working working well, i can able to view records. But when i try to deploy the report an error occurs specifying that "A connection could not be made to the report server http://localhost/ReportServer. (Microsoft Report Designer)".
  • I open the IIS 7 and find out virtual directories "Reports" and "ReportServer" are available.
  • I check on the browser and type "http://localhost/reports".  I find the browser direct to this url: http://localhost/reports/Pages/Folder.aspx and find error specifying the following one:

Error:The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer.

  • when i type http://localhost/reportmanager, i found the error:

HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found

Design: Place XML Message Design Ahead of Schema Planning to Improve Web Service Interoperability

Web Services are all about exchanging data in the form of XML messages. If you were about to design a database schema, you probably wouldn't let your tool do it for you. You'd hand-tool it yourself to ensure maximum efficiency. In this article, the author maintains that designing a Web Service should be no different. You should know what kind of data will be returned by Web Service requests and use the structure of that data to design the most efficient message format. Here you'll learn how to make that determination and how to build your Web Service around the message structure.

problem viewing http://localhost/Reports

Basically http://localhost/Reports give me a "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error

However http://localhost:8080/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx works fine and takes me to the home page of SSRS.

Any idea what I should be looking for to get the first url to work correctly?

Thanks

calling WCF service Method in HTTP GET by browser or ASP.NET ( like HttpWebRequest for example)

Can i call a WCF service Method using HTTP GET by browser or ASP.NET (without WCF Client)? it can be done with asmx web service.... but i can't find a way to call a WCF service Method with HTTP GET through the browser or C# ASP.NET Code... can i do that ?

While calling Web service gets exception "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized"

Hi All, I created a ASP.NET web service, which was hosted on default visual studioserver, and on excecution of webservice it run .exe file which in turn update xml file. Now i hosted this webservice on IIS 6.0 server, and when i run the service, itfails to execute the exe. When i run it on debug mode, i never get any exception.Code...public string HelloWorld()    {        Process myProcess = new Process();        try        {            myProcess.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = false;            // You can start any process,             myProcess.StartInfo.FileName = @"E:\Projects\some.exe";            myProcess.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = true;            myProcess.Start();            myProcess.Close();            myProcess.Dispose();            return "Suceess";         }&n

The service cannot be started. This service has no endpoint defined....But it has!?!

Hi Foks,I'm following this tutorial on how to create RESTful services in WCF:http://www.codemeit.com/wcf/wcf-restful-pox-json-and-soap-coexist.htmlI would like to test the created service using the WCF Default Test Client, but when I run the application (F5) the service does not start and I get this message:"The service cannot be started. This service has no endpoint defined. Please add at least one endpoint for the service in config file and try again."However I do have endpoints defined for this service..I also have two other services running in the same application, which work fine:This is the relevant portion of my app.config:<behaviors>              <serviceBehaviors>                        <behavior name="WCF_Lib_Default.Service1Behavior">                   <serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="True"/>                   <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="False" />             &nbs

Trying to get basic Http URL with querystring parameters processed in WCF service

I'm trying to process a post by a third party server (Paypal) processed by my server through a WCF service. All I need is to get and process the values with the query string. This sounds incredibly easy, but after a weekend, I'm still stumped.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Passing the following URL from my browser to the service causes a AddressFilter mismatch fault (below). http://localhost:9409/PPInfo.svc/ReadResponse?RESULT=0&AUTHCODE=10001&RESPMSG=APROVED&PNREF=12345 produces <Fault xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ws/2005/05/envelope/none"> - <Code>   <Value>Sender</Value> - <Subcode>   <Value xmlns:a="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ws/2005/05/addressing/none">a:DestinationUnreachable</Value>   </Subcode>   </Code> - <Reason>   <Text xml:lang="en-US">The message with To 'http://localhost:9409/PPInfo.svc/ReadResponse?RESULT=0&AUTHCODE=10001&RESPMSG=APROVED&PNREF=12345' cannot be processed at the receiver, due to an AddressFilter mismatch at the EndpointDispatcher. How to set and map a Method in the Service file with endpoint elements and binding elements

Hi all, I have created a service file like OSService.svc in that i have two methods like one is FileUpload and FileDownload for e.g :- [WebInvoke(UriTemplate = "/fileupload/{fileName}" , Method = "POST" )]         [OperationContract]         void FileUpload(string fileName, Stream fileContents); same as Filedownload also. People you may know these methods are inside the interface of service file what you are using i'e i have created a interface as IOSService.cs. So, what i need now is i want to write separate endpoint for FileUpload and Filedownload.Because i want to set separate value for receiveTimeout  and openTimeout for the Fileupload and FileDownload process in binding section in the web.config file itself. The below code was i'm using right now but still i'm not able to the set separate value of endpoint elements in the bindings. EndPoint Section:- <endpoint name = "endPoint1"  address  = "localhost:8000/OSService.svc/" bindingConfiguration = "TransactionalTCP"   binding  = "netTcpBinding"          contract = "IOSService"/> Binding Section:-  <binding name = "TransactionalTCP"  transactionFlow = "true"   /&
