I have created a sharepoint portal and customized it. I have created my own master page and there are many webparts implemented. This has been hosted in a MOSS server. When a normal user is trying to access the portal first thing in the morning, he is getting
a "You are not authorized to view this page" error. But when a site admin access the site, there is no issue and he is able to access the site. The site admin does nothing in the site and once he has logged in to the site, the user is able to access
the site without any trouble.
I have tried to look into the master page gallery and has given full access to the users for "Style Resource Readers" user group. Even now the user is facing the same issue.
Kindly help in this regards,
I would like to know how to hide certain documents (eg. Word, Excel, PPT, PDF) in a document libraries from unauthorized users? I tried implement Target Audience, but it doesn't work. If anyone know, i really appreciate for the guidance.
p/s: If my posting is not relevnt to the thread, please kindly move it to the appropriate places. Thanks!
Hello,i have made a very simple file upload app, that i want
users to be able to upload images to a folder on my server, well
localhost for the time being here is the simple upload code...
Hi. I created a web application using "Forms Authentication".
There is a folder name "uploads", and it creates subfolders as username when they register. Web application stores users' files and images under their folder ("uploads/username")
I tried to find a way to restrict users to download and upload files to their folder only and couldn't find a good one.
Then I came up with this idea that stores "web.config" file each time user registers and the web.config should look like below. Username will be changed dynamically according to username.
This method actually works but I am little worried if this is a good practice as far as performance wise. Because it'll create web.config files as many as users and there might be other holes that I don't recognize.
I appreciate any advice or better suggestion for this problem.

We are running MOSS 2007 Stand-alone server on server 2003 SP2.
We had perfectly running MOSS site with Document Libraries and Custom Lists with almost 10 subsites.
Suddenly today no one can edit or upload any new items or documents.
Under "Site Permissions", all the users have "Limited Access" permission level including Site Admins as well.
I have logged in as Site Admin and "Edit user Permission" under "Site Permissions" is not available anymore.
I know its a security issue but is there any way I can reset the security settings on Parenet Site.
(All the the subsites inherit security from the parent site)
I have set up anonymous access on a sharepoint 2010 publishing site, and that works fine. However, when I try to access the site from a mobile device ( or in a browser with a url of
http://server/pages/default.aspx?Mobile=1), I get 401 Unauthorized.
In the IIS log, it's showing a 401 on: /_layouts/mobile/mblwp.aspx
Any suggestions for getting anonymous to work for mobile users?
I'll try asking this again since I'm still not able to access my data cube.
I've developed a BI solution with SSIS, SSRS and SSAS. The account I've used for development has had Domain Administrator permissions and I've never had a problem running an SSRS report that reads the cube. When I use an account with less than
Domain Admin permissions and try to run a SSRS report that runs a query against a SSAS cube the query fails.
I've set up a Domain User group and given it read access to the data sources in Report Manager. I've given the group datareader role in ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB as well as the DataReader role in the SSAS cube.
Why can't I read any data from the cube???
I need functionality similar to the Authorize Attribute in the sense that if a user tries to access the action and they have not been authenticated, the user is rerouted to the logon page before they can proceed.
After a user logs in, I want to check that they have completed some additional "profile-like" information. If they have not completed the additional information, I want to reroute them to the profile form until they have completed the form. Once completed, I want to route them to where they were originally trying to go (just like the Authorize Attribute).
I had done something similar with Web Forms by subclassing the form and adding the logic needed there. Then every form in the site inherited from this base form.
How can I do this in MVC?
