Has anyone experienced problems using a reorder list control in Chrome/Firefox?

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 26, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

I have three reorder lists on a page, one does not want to work. It is no different to the others, but is behaving like it is not enabled.

All working fine in IE 7 + 8.

Any ideas appreciated :)

Reorder list problem having to do with control placement

I have a page with a FileUpload control that uploads an image to a sql db when Button_Upload is clicked. I also have a reorder list contained within an update panel to display all the images in the database.The problem is with the code as shown below:1. I have the Button_Upload as an AsynchPostbackTrigger for the Update Panel2. The FileUpload.PostedFile=Nothing in Button_Upload_Click and no new image gets loaded.If I remove Button_Upload as an AsynchPostbackTrigger as a trigger then1. image gets added but reorderlist doesn't get refreshed and new picture doesn't appear in reorder list2. if I manually refresh browser button click event fires and image gets added againWhat is the way to place controls/triggers to get reorder list to show new picture when it gets added to the database? Thanks   <%@ Page Title="" Language="VB" MasterPageFile="~/sfcas_nofooter.master" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="ImageUpload.aspx.vb" Inherits="ImageUpload" MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback="true" %> <%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="cc1" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="ContentPlaceHolder1" Runat="Server"> <div id='leftside_fixproblem' &g

Dynamic Textbox List Control - problems refreshing

Ive been stuck on this one for a month:

So I have a custom control that has a list of textboxes, and a button that will dynamically add a new textbox to the list.

 So I have an addTextbox() function, that will do something like

TextbBox t = new TextBox()

 then I add it to the page.  So adding a new textbox works fine, but I have values that I want to put into each textbox and upon each page load, the values get replaced.  What I need to do is get the textboxes from the viewstate so I can use their values for other textboxes, but since they are created anonymously, im not sure how I can do that.  I tried to get the unique name and put all of them into an arraylist, then upon the next page load, load the names from the list, but the unique name isnt unique.  Thanks

Reorder List Control Drag Handle

Hello,

I'm using a reorderlist (Ajax Control Toolkit Release 4.1.40412.2) inside a scrolling div  (class="reorderListDemo" style="overflow:scroll; height:225px; width:1300px; table-layout:fixed; text-align:left;"). When the height of the reorderlist is greater than the height of the div, the div will automatically have a vertical scrollbar. The problem is that when i scroll down to drag an item  from the bottom of the reorderlist, the reorderlist does not work properly. The drag image and the drop target does not correspond to the item i want to move.

I've attached a copy of my css file:

body
{
	font-family:Arial,Verdana;
	font-size:10pt;
	color:black;
}

.modalBackground {
	background-color:Gray;
	filter:alpha(opacity=70);
	opacity:0.7;
}

.popupMenu {
	position:absolute;
	visibility:hidden;
	background-color:#efefef;
}

.popupHover {
	background-color:#efefef;
}

.dragHandle {
	width:5px;
	height:10px;
	background-color:Blue;
	cursor:move;
	border:outset thin white;
}

.reorderListDemo li {
	list-style:none;

login control logsout immediately in IE8 (but not Chrome, Firefox)

I am setting up a simple website which includes an asp.net login control.

Problem: When a registered user logs in using IE8 he is immediately logged out again.

(You can tell that he did get logged in because the "LastActivityDate" entry gets updated, there is also no "login failed" message.)

This doesn't happen if the user is using Chrome or Firefox - these browsers let you login ok. The problem also doesn't occur when using IE8 on the development machine, (running the site through Visual Studio) - it only occurs when deployed (I'm using IIS 5.1 on WinXP Pro).

After a lot of Googling the closest I have found to someone else experiencing this was at:

http://www.hanselman.com/blog/CSIASPNETTheOneWhereADoubleHTTPGETFromInternetExplorerIECausesProblemsWithFormsAuthenticationAndMySanity.aspx

However the solution offered on the above link (ie don't have an IMG tag with an empty "" source( doesn't seem to apply to my website. Also - I'm guessing that his problem might occur in other browsers.)

I seem to have reached a dead end here, can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mark

Menu control appears slighlty off in Chrome and Firefox

The right sides of the dynamic menu items are being chopped off. Also, the entire menu is moved slightly to the left in both browsers. I have been searching for a solution but everything I find so far with Google talks about a problem with the menu not starting on the correct node but I am not having that issue.

Security Briefs: Access Control List Editing in .NET

Access control lists (ACLs) can be complex beasts, and user interfaces for editing them are incredibly tricky to implement properly. That's why I was really excited when Windows® 2000 shipped with a programmable ACL editor, shown in Figure 1.

Hey Guys,

 I'm new around and I thought this is probably the best place to help me solve my dilemma, I am developing a website for almost a year now and the login control was implemented a logn time ago, however all of a sudden it will not authenticate on Internet Explorer 7 when the application is published, it doesn't even provide a message that authentication was unseccssful or throws any error, it just refreshes the same page. however this problem doesn't occure when I try the same website on FireFox 2.0...Also when I run the page locally on Cassini it work great on both browsers...This is one of the weirdest errors I have ever faced. what could have gone wrong on the server side to cause this? knowing nothing changed on the server-side...I'll provide a snapshot of the login control below

Javascript fails in chrome and firefox, works fine in IE

Hi,

I am customizing Newform.aspx i.e. hiding some fields, making other readonly etc. It works fine in IE but fails miserably in chrome and firefox i.e. readonly are no more readonly, hidden are no more hidden. Here is my code:

<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
    _spBodyOnLoadFunctionNames.push("autoFillFields");
    function autoFillFields()
    {
       var ctrl = findacontrol("Reference Customer");
    var param = getURLParam('RefFromCust');
    var properParam = replaceCharacters(param);
    ctrl.value = properParam;

    var ctrl = findacontrol("RefReqOpptyId");
    var param = getURLParam('OpptyId');
    var properParam = replaceCharacters(param);
    ctrl.value = properParam;

    param = getURLParam('RefFromAE');
    properParam = replaceCharacters(param);
    setPeoplePicker("People Picker", properParam);

Response.TransmitFile() Firefox problems

My company is in the final development stages for a web application that includes a couple of features that allow for uploading and downloading user document files.  We've recently identified a problem in these features when users download and view a document in Firefox.  The download and viewing work fine, but as soon as the user closes the document and attempts to navigate to a different page in the application, Firefox throws up a page that says:

 XML Parsing Error: not well formed

Location: (URL of page)

Line number: X, Column: X

[a snippet of markup from the page]

I've tried numerous variations on the code we're using to do the download, but they all center on the following:

        string path = Server.MapPath(UIUtils.GetRepositoryPath(custNm)) + fileId + ArtifactRevision.FileExt;
        FileInfo file = new FileInfo(path);
        if (!file.Exists)
            throw new ApplicationException("Missing repository file");

        fileName = fileName.Replace(' ', '_');
        Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + fileName);
        Response.AddHeader("Content-Length", file.Length.ToString());
        Response.ContentType = contType;

Having problems with the TreeView control.

I'm having problems with the TreeView Web Control.  What I am aiming to accomplish is to populate a TreeView control with my Active Directory information (similar to how it is structured in Active Directory Users and Computers) and when a node is selected, it's associated value is displayed in a text box.  I have the OnTreePopulate method and OnSelectedNodeChanged method implemented.  Each node has a name and value, which the value is the LDAP path I want displayed in the text box.  SelectAction = TreeNodeSelectAction and PopulateOnDemand =true.  Is there anything I'm missing? thanks, Pat

Problems with a .NET4 Control GAC Reference failing at runtime but fine during debugging

I believe this question is specific to the CLR how ever I will test this in a Forms Application later. I have multiple .Net 4 Targeted WPF Applications that Reference Non Microsoft .NET 4 WPF Controls that I can confirm are in the GAC. Everything Debugs Great (Noting that none of the references are copied to the output directory) and Install's well using a Setup Package and manually installing has the same effect even after a reboot. The problem is the application will not start even as an administrator as it does not find the Control References in the GAC. This also happens if I try to start the application manually in the visual studio output Directory. I can also confirm that opening the application in reflector that reflector is able to correctly find the references. Finally if I copy the controls (.dll's) to the location of the application everything runs as expected for all the above issues.   My question here is why is my application not able to load the .NET 4 controls from the GAC? Also note that everything uses a Strong Name.
