Method 'X' in type 'Y' from assembly 'Z...' does not have an implementation.

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 29, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WCF

Please note that I posted this previously:

I received an answer and marked it as resolved, but the fix only worked for a very short time, and now it's back to the same problem and never works. I have a WCF 3.5 service hosted in IIS that works fine on Windows 2003 but always breaks in Windows 7 (IIS 7.5) with this message: "Method 'X' in type 'Y' from assembly 'Z...' does not have an implementation." This error message is wrong, because the implementation is there. If I comment out the referenced method, the error simply moves on to the next method. But everything is correct and it works fine in 3 win03 environments.

This is driving me crazy, so it would be heroic of somebody to give me a permanent fix for this. Everything suggested in the previous post (see link above) has been tried, tweaked, retried, restarted, rebooted, etc. Nothing seems to work, not even sporadically anymore.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Method in type 'x' from assemby 'x' does not have an implementation - wcf hosted in iis error

Hi All

I have created a service in my asp.net project. It works alright in dev. When I installed the website on test server I started getting this error. I could not even browse the service in IIS on the test box. I have double checked the references to service contract and implementation. If there would have been incorrect reference, I would have not found implementation in dev as well.

Please help. Thanks

The type 'System.Data.Linq.DataContext' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must

This is frustrating, and I don't know how to solve it.

I have a strange problem. I am adding a LinqDatasource object, and set the context:

        protected void LinqDataSource_ContextCreating(object sender, LinqDataSourceContextEventArgs e)
            e.ObjectInstance = new KaruselaDataContext(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["ConnectionString"].ConnectionString);

Then I get this error:
The type 'System.Data.Linq.DataContext' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Data.Linq, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'.

On web.config I already have this:
<add assembly="System.Data.Linq, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089"/>

NOTE: The datacontext is in a different project (DLL proect) where I added a refernce to System.Data.Linq.

is there another way adding a refernce to a web project? or only though teh web.config?

Before you can test any software system effectively, you must understand the system under test. If the system includes the Microsoft® . NET Framework, understanding the system under test includes understanding its assembly and method dependencies.

The type 'DataGrid' was not found. Verify that you are not missing an assembly reference and that

Hi; I'm new to WPF and I was going through the ExpenseIt tutorial on MSDN's website. The tutorial was working fine until I added DataGrid. I got the error message: "The type 'DataGrid' was not found. Verify that you are not missing an assembly reference and that all referenced assemblies have been built."     I could not find a clear answer online of which assembly references to fix and how to fix them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!     Note: I'm running the following: Windows Vista 32-bit operating system Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Version 9.0.30729.1 SP Microsoft .NET Framework Version 3.5 SP1

Cannot register a service type without attaching the source assembly to the host process

I'm wondering if there is any way I can register a service type without attaching the source assembly to the host process. When I register the service type, the source assembly (which has the type) cannot be written.   I appreciate your attention..

Calling a method with a class object as parameter data type.

   [WebMethod]    public string GetInfo(Customer inCust)    {        // Code in here    } I have a web service that resides on a remote server. I want to call a public method of theweb service named  "GetInfo". The method is shown above. The web service method expects a class object oftype "Customer". What I did to create a Customer object was to define in my asp.net project my own class named "Customer" which is exactlythe same as the class that belongs to the web service project on the remote server. I then created an instance of Customerand tried to call the web service passing in an object of type customer : my.Service ws = new my.Service(); // Get web service connectionCustomer aCustomer = new Customer();aCustomer.Initialize();ws.GetInfo(aCustomer) // call web service passing in a Customer object The problem is that the compiler gives me the following error: Value of type '_Default.Customer' cannot be converted to 'ws.Class1'. Here Default is refering to my Default.aspx.cs code. Why is this? Do I need to Cast my "aCustomer" class object to a type ofws.Customer ? How do I do that?

BCS : How to set permissions to an external content type's method

guys, Environment: sp 2010, BCS using SPD I have created an external content type from a LOB sql server 2008 DB, created list and form pages, created read, update, delete, edit methods( all the default operations that SPD shows), from the list page i am able to read and write data back the LOB DB also successfully. Also i know there are permissinos that i can set on the external content type but the problem that i am facing is that i dont see any place\ option where i can assign\ restrict permissions of the content type's method to a certain SP group from neither CA nor SPD i.e if i want a certain group to have only execute permissions only on READ method. Would be great if anyone can tell me if at all this is possible. thanks sameer

Is there a method that returns the control's type, such as "TextBox", "TextBlock", "Canvas", etc.,

Hello, I have a method that is passed in a FrameworkElement Ctrl.  When I use Ctrl.GetType().ToString() I get "System.Window.Controls.TextBox" or another string if a different type of control is passed in.  All I am interested in is the text after the last dot/period.  In my searching I thought I came across something that just returned the portion I'm looking for, but now can't find it. Is there a method that returns the control's type, such as "TextBox", "TextBlock", "Canvas", etc., without its parents? Regards, Robert

Cannot load file or assembly 'CLI.implementation, Version=2.0.2693.36850

All I wanted to do was update my ATI Catalyst and my video drivers... but no. I had to install a new version of the .NET framework. After installing .NET framework 3.0 from the Microsoft Updates page, I restarted my computer. Upon reaching the desktop, the ATI Catalyst Control Center would not open, giving me the message:     Cannot load file or assembly 'CLI.implementation, Version=2.0.2693.36850, culture=neutral, publickeytoken=90ba9c70f846762e' or one of it's dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.     I'm really not savvy with this stuff, and I have no idea what to do. I'd like to learn, if not for bettering my knowledge than for the purpose of getting my Catalyst to work again.. Please help!

Handling Type namespace/assembly change during serialization

We needed to move a class from one assembly to another due to referencing issues.  However, we have Workflows in the field where this type is serialized into them and we get the Failed to load type error.  I was wondering if there was anything like AssemblyResolve for handling type load failures where we can correct the type and load the correct one?

BCS Method Security / External Content Type Permissions / Custom List Security Provider / Security T

I have an external list setup with the usual CRUD methods.  The external SQL table is also being populated by another source.  I want to enable/disable deleting depending on whether the record was created from SharePoint.  I would also like the normal list permissions to work.  So if a user has permissions to delete on the list, they can only delete items created for SharePoint.

Where should this logic be incorporated?  On the BCS Delete method, somewhere in the External Content Type or on the list instance?  Most examples I find relate to security trimming for search.  I'm only concerned about the delete method.

I'm sure there are multiple ways to accomplish this.  Which is the best?

How to user LoadControl(Type type, object[] para) method?

protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
            // This is NOT working. I dont see user control on page
            Type type = Type.GetType("TestProject.UserControls.Gender");
            Control uc = Page.LoadControl(type,null);

            //This is working. I can see user control on page
            Control uc1 =  Page.LoadControl("~/UserControls/Gender.ascx");

 Im trying to load User Control dynamically using LoadControl(Type type, object[] para) method but its not working. I do not get any exception but i dont see user control render on the page. I have a Default parameterless construction in my user control and i see its get executed when i put break point there. but i dont see user control rendered on my page.

If i use OverLoaded method LoadControl(string VirtualPath) then it works fine.
