how to increase the row size in sql server 2005

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 28, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

Hi all,

I am using sql server 2005 to store binary data in multiple columns but when the application tries to insert data into the database the fallowing error is thrown saying row size cannot be more than 8060 kb . Can anyone tell me how can we resolve this issue by increasing the row size of sql server or any other alternative solution.

Cannot create a row of size 29879 which is greater than the allowable maximum of 8060.\r\nThe statement has been terminated.

database size limit about SQL Server 2005 Express

I know that there is a size limit (4 GB) for SQL Server 2005 Express, but I am not quite sure if the limit is applied for only ONE database data file or for ALL the database data, suppose I have two databases DB1 and DB2, so which of the following statement is correct? A. The size limit for DB1 is 4GB, and the size limit for DB2 is also 4GB, so if DB1 is 3G and DB2 is 3.5G,that will be OK. B. The total size for both DB1 and DB2 can not be larger than 4GB, which means if DB1 is 3G, then DB2 can not be large than 1G.

increase initial size in SQL Server 2008 with Advanced Reporting Services

What is the maximum size a database using SQL Server 2008 Express with Advanced Services  can grow to?  I currently have one that is 204.44 MB with 0 space free.  Growth is set to Auto.  How can I increase the database size in this version?  I would like to allow it to be at least 400 MB?  May I simply increase the Initial Size to be 400 MB; and then increase the log file size to be 2 MB (currenlty set to 1)?  The enable autogrowth is set to grow automatically by 10 percent.

SQL Server 2005 Try and Catch Exception Handling

I'm pretty excited to see that there is some real error handling for T-SQL code in SQL Server 2005. It's pretty painful to have your wonderfully architected .NET solution tainted by less-than-VBScript error handling for stored procedures in the database. The big difference being the addition of TRY..CATCH blocks. Let's take a look:
