Login Audit Failure every time Agent runs

Hi everybody,

we're running several SQL-Servers 2008 (on Windows 2008 Servers). Every SQL-Server is using it's own domain accounts for running the services.

Every time a task is executed by an SQL-Agent, I find a Logon Audit Failure in the system log. The Details are listed below. The audit failure refers th the domain account fpr the SQL-Server Agent.

Customize failure text for login control

Hi all,

I would like to show the failure text in a client-side alert box for login control in c#. Please help me if there is an easy way to convert it from vb.net to c#.net. Thanks a lot!

Protected Sub Login1_LoginError(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Login1.LoginError
'Display the failure message in a client-side alert box
ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(Me.GetType(), "LoginError", _
String.Format("alert('{0}');", Login1.FailureText.Replace("'", "\'")), True)

 End Sub

 Converted, but it doesn't work.

protected void Login1_LoginError(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
    //Display the failure message in a client-side alert box
    ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "LoginError", string.Format("alert('{0}');", Login1.FailureText.Replace("'", "\\'")), true);

Issue with Remember Me on User Login control

Hi everyone,

     I hope you can help me, I tried Google, but none of the solutions worked. Using VB.net and Membership, I have a login control in my master page with a remember me check box. When I check this box and login, some pages indicate that I am not logged in. If I go to another page, it will then indicate that I am still logged in. I have isolated one page that always indicates I am not logged in the first time I visit it, but if log in a second time and then go to it, it will finally recognize me as a user that is properly logged in.

Some pages that this occurs on is in the top level, some pages are in a sub folder.

My MasterPage has the following Form Code:

<body bgcolor="#E0ECF9" topmargin="0" leftmargin="0">

My Aspx file has a troubleshooting label, several Gridviews and several DetailViews:

Database login set up issue

Hi folks, I have more than one domains trusted each other, one user has already been granted access in the server, but I don't see it using Exec  xp_logininfo. I even tried adding the user as sysadmin. no problem for most of other users from the same domain. For another user, when I run the Exec  xp_logininfo, it returns: Msg 15404, Level 16, State 11, Procedure xp_logininfo, Line 62 Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user 'INTL\RTxie', error code 0x534. what happened to these two accounts? is it a SQL issue or Active Directory issue? That domain has 15000 accounts across over 100 domain controllers. my domain has roughly the same amount users. they are trusted each other under same forest. Thank you in advance.

custom 401/login failure error messages

I have a req to display a custom error message when a user fails to log in 3 times.  The default behavior seem to be for a redirect to something like this http://server/_layouts/AccessDenied.aspx?loginasanotheruser=true&Source=http%3A%2F%2Fserver2k7%2FPages%2FDefault%2Easpx after the third login attempt.  The resulting page just comes up as blank...I'm guessing because it failed auth.  My initial thoughts were to create a custom error page, and redirect with an http module.  That solution (while it does redirect) puts me right back to the initial problem of just a blank page being displayed after the failed auth.  I've been struggling with this for a while now, ANY thoughts or advice would be greaty appreciated.  Is it even possible?

URGENT: Remote Host DB Returns Login Failure on All Databases

Hi, I have a mixture of sites hosted in various places powered by multiple databases located at the same place. Today the sites that had been finished a while ago and operating just fine on autopilot with no recent work done started returning login errors, but I also believe I saw an error related to the connection refusing remote connections the first time I saw it. I opened a ticket with my host and it has been listed as "In Progress" for the past three hours now with no improvement.I am hoping someone here might have a better idea how to handle this than they do.I tried adding new users and changing my main login password on their Paralles H-Sphere control panel, but every time I click submit I get an unkown error that the change could not be done. Every dynamic page on all of my sites whose databases are hosted there look like this: Server Error in '/' Application. Login failed for user 'MyUserName'. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login failed for user 'MyUserName'. Source Error: An unhandled exception was gener

Cannot Login with Forms Based Authentication to SharePoint 2010 - Issue with the SecurityTokenServic

Please be advised I have followed the steps on http://donalconlon.wordpress.com/2010/02/23/configuring-forms-base-authentication-for-sharepoint-2010-using-iis7/. I have tried to fix the following issue for a week using different farms and SharePoint 2010 installations, however I am getting the following error when trying to authenticate using Forms Based into a Claims site: Cannot get Membership Provider with name FBARoleProvider The membership provider for this process was not properly configured. You must configure the membership provider in the .config file for every SharePoint process. 1. I am certain the membership provider is configured in the SecurityTokenServiceApplication webservice as I can manage users and roles in IIS7 using the SecurityTokenServiceApplication website. 2. I am certain that membership provider is configured in the both the Claims Web Application and Central Admin as I can manage users and roles in IIS7 using their websites. 3. I know the issue is the SecurityTokenServiceApplication service as I had to set <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="true" /> to get the error above. 4. I can log into the Claims Based Application using windows authentication, however I am unable to see the users on the people picker despite that I can see them from the application's site on IIS

SSRS Audit Trail Security Issue

One of my reports has tight security issues that come with it. I have integrated windows authentication so that the logged in user's credentials are passwed as a parameter to the stored procedure that is called. That parameter is marked as HIDDEN, which works perfectly for ad-hoc calls by end users to the report.

My security loophole seems to come in when the end user schedules a subscription. The "user id" parameter is then no longer hidden and the end user can schedule the report to run with any other user's id that they wish to.

If the subscription is still in the system I can read the Subscriptions table and see that "Bob" has asked for the report to run as though it is really "Sam." But the problem is if they remove that subscription, the ExecutionLog records the fact that the report was run for "Bob" as the parameter, but it runs under the admin account of course, and there is no record (that I can find) of who the report was emailed to.

Is there a way I can find out who reports were emailed to when they were executed as subscriptions?

Login issue

Issue: SQL Server 2008 is installed with mixedmode and user forget the password for sa account, is there any possible way to connect SQL Server, even tried with Built-in-account's no luck.

User login failure in the middle of a job

I have a job that is failing in the middle of a stored procedure due to a mysterious "Login failed" error.

The job executes a series of stored procedures as a user named "Updater." The first two procedures in the series runs as expected. The third stored procedure fails to run, giving the error "Login failed for user 'updater'." I double-checked the permissions for all three procedures, and they are identical. There is no record of the login failure in the server's logs. (The series of procedures runs in a master procedure that catches exceptions.)

I tried rearranging the order of the procedures in the job. I have also checked all of the objects referenced by the problem procedure. The failure still occurs on the problem procedure. SQL Server 2008 R2.

Windows 7-SQL database engine login failure over VPN

I need to connect to two different SQL Server database engines from my Windows 7 client, via VPN.  One is 2008, the other 2008R2.  I can connect to both via VPN from my XP client, but cannot connect to either via Windows 7.  The error text I receive is:

Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication. (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)

The error number in the client is 18452.

SQL log contains two errors:

  • Error 18452, Severity: 14, State: 1
  • SSPI handshake failed with error code 0x8009030c, state 14 while establishing a connection with integrated security, the connection has been closed. Reason: AcceptSecurityContext failed.  The windows error code indicates the cause of failure. [client
