Posted By:      Posted Date: October 28, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

I've got a table (TABLE1) that looks like this:

xxxxxxxx 1 GOOD 201

xxxxxxxx 2 BAD 223

xxxxxxxx 2 GOOD 345

xxxxxxxx 3 GOOD 765

xxxxxxxx 3 UNKNOWN 201

And I would like to write a query for Crystal Reports to produce an outlike like this:

We have the following query:   SELECT H.VEHICLE_ID,                 COUNT(ISNULL(H.HISTORY_ID, 0))            FROM VEHICLES V LEFT OUTER JOIN VEHICLE_HISTORY H              ON V.VEHICLE_ID = H.VEHICLE_ID           WHERE H.SPEED >= 65             AND CONVERT(DATE, H.GPS_TIME) = CONVERT(DATE, DATEADD(DAY, -1, GETDATE()))        GROUP BY H.VEHICLE_ID;   Unfortunately, if there inst a record for a vehicle for the current day in VEHICLE_HISTORY, or there inst a record over 65 in VEHICLE_HISTORY, the query simply does not include the result. How can we include all results (i.e. return 0)? What we want is the number of rows returned to match the number of rows in the vehicles table. I thought doing the LEFT OUTER JOIN would take care of this, and return a result for all vehicles.   Thanks.

Outputting an Active Directory Query

This may be something really simple, but how do I output this code: private DirectoryEntry GetDirectoryObject() { DirectoryEntry oDE; oDE = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://test.test.test/DC=test,DC=test,DC=test", "username", "password", AuthenticationTypes.Secure); return oDE; } private DirectoryEntry GetAllUsers() { DirectoryEntry de = GetDirectoryObject(); DirectorySearcher deSearch = new DirectorySearcher(); deSearch.SearchRoot = de; deSearch.Filter = "(&(objectClass=user))"; deSearch.SearchScope = SearchScope.Subtree; SearchResult results = deSearch.FindOne(); if (!(results == null)) { de = new DirectoryEntry(results.Path, "username", "password", AuthenticationTypes.Secure); return de; } else { return null; } } to a list, I'm trying to create a list of company phone numbers for out intranet site based on AD so if anyone could tell me how to query that too that would be great :)Many thanks,    private DirectoryEntry GetDirectoryObject()     {         DirectoryEntry oDE;         oDE = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://test.test.test/DC=test,DC=test,DC=test&quo

Showing Null value in a string expression to show fullName in T-SQL query

I have a SQL query which calculates the full name from firstname, middlename and lastname. When any of the column contains a null value the calculated value shows null.

FirstName + ' ' + MiddleName + ' '+ LastName as FullName

from <table name>

FirstName : Ruben

MiddleNAme : Null

LastName : Torres

FullName : Null

Why it does not leave the null column and have the string concatanated as :

Ruben Torres

Linq to XML query doesn't show data with null values...need it to!

I've got a web service that returns xml from a linq query.

If i have fields 'name' and 'title' my linq query will return results that have data in both 'name and 'title' fields.

How can I get linq to return a query when both fields are populated, and when only the name field contains data?

Here's what I've got:

        public XmlDocument GetUsersByDate()
            StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder();
            XmlWriter writer = XmlWriter.Create(sb);

            var SelectedUsers = (from u in db.Users
                                 select "<UserName>" + u.UserName + "</UserName><x>" + u.Title + "<x>").ToList();

MS SQL Server: Search All Tables, Columns & Rows For Data or Keyword Query

If you need to search your entire database for specific data, this query will come in handy.

So when a client needs a custom report or some sort of custom development using Great Plains, most of the time I will have to track down the data in the system by running this query and find the table(s) it is in.

Content Query Web Part missing in SharePoint 2010

If you don't see content query web part listed in the web parts list, this is because you have not enabled "Search Server Web Parts" feature in site collection features. Enable this feature and content query web part will show in the list of web parts.

How to check for null/empty strings on dynamic objects?

What is the proper way to check for null or empty strings on dynamic objects? This is the only solution I've found so far:

if (admin.PasswordHash.GetType() == typeof(DBNull) || admin.PasswordHash == string.Empty)

If the field is null, the object returned is DBNull.Value, but if the field is empty string, it's return as a System.String object. This makes it impossible to do regular "admin.PasswordHash == DBNull.Value" check, as that will fail whenever the field has been set to empty string. Is my example the right (and only) way to go?

Users getting logged out because HttpContext.Current is null

We've  been trying to fix this one for a couple years, and I'm just out of ideas, so any help is really appreciated!

We've got a fairly large, complex web application that uses Forms Authentication to authenticate users.  Throughout the application we store and retrieve information about users in the Session object, and in some cases in cookies.  In a couple places we check for the existence of the context, and if it's null we send the user back to the login page to re-establish the session.

Just a quick run-down of this web app: C#, .NET 3.5, IIS 6, ASP.NET State Service to manage session

As for the session timer, we use our own home-grown timer, which is basically a client-side timer, which is backed up by a check to the SQL database to see when their last activity was.  This seems to work well for us.  It's not perfect, but it allows us to notify the user before the session times out, and allows us to be certain we're not logging a user out before their 60 minutes of inactivity is up.

What's happening is that certain users are being logged out after just a few minutes.  We've eliminated the timer as a cause and believe what's happening is the HttpContext.Current is null, so the user is logged out.  We do not know why the HttpContext.Current is null, and I underst

How to send an email with information in query string

First I will say I googled (Binged to make Bill happy) for this but could not find anything, perhaps I am not stating what I need correctly;

I have a website that a customer creates orders (for a printing company) and after the order, I would like to email the customer a link to view the status of their order;

I need to send the CustomerID in the link so on the returning page if a CustomerID is detected in the querystring, I "auto login" the client and open the "Dashboard" for the order page for that customer.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to send the link and how to parse the querystring to get the values from the link;

Thank you if you can point me in the right direction.
