Multiple Drill Through Issue when using Report Viewer in SharePoint

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 28, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

I have a report that has a Pie chart and Bar Chart on it.  This report has default parameters on it.  Both the Pie Chart and Bar Chart Drill through to different reports. Looking at the paramater panel of this report all looks fine.

When I drill through on the Pie chart this works OK and the drill through reports this has another parameter on it.  The parameter panel updates correctly.  I then click the return to parent report and this returns correctly but does not update the parameter panel.

I then try to drill through on the Bar Chart (the report is showing the incorrect paramater panel) I get the following error.

Adding SharePoint Toolpart to SQL Report viewer

I am new to the Business Intelligence Project plug in for Visual Studio. I have a SQL Report created in Visual Studio using the Business Intelligence Report Server Project.  I am hosting the report in a SharePoint Report Viewer Web part. I have 2 questions:  1.  Is it possible to create a code behind module for the report in C#?  The only codebehind module I see is in XML.  I have seen many posts with C# code in them however they do not explain how to get to the code behind. 2.  Is it possible to pass values from a SharePoint Toolpart to a SQL Report (via the Report Viewer web part) and use the value to generate the report? Thanks in advance.

JavaScript Error while calling a drill through report in a report viewer from a asp.net web page.

I am calling a report in a web page which is getting displayed in report viewer. This report comes fine but when I click on it to see the drill through report for this parent report the drill through report does not get displayed and I see a JScript error instead.

The error I get is something like,

parent.document.GetElementByID(...).ClientController is not null or not an object

The aspx page that contains the report viewer inherits from a master page that contains an Update Panel.

I tested the report separately in SSRS and the drill through is working fine there.

Can some one please provide any inputs on this one?

How to pass multiple filter parameters to moss report viewer from custom filter provider

I have written a custom filter provider webpart which implements ITransformableFilterValues to pass parameter value to moss report viewer webpart.

However, this interface only allows to pass one parameter. Please can someone guide me through correct resource which allows my custom filter provider webpart to pass multiple parameters to report viewer. E.g if my report has 5 parameters then my filter provider webpart should allow me to make connection with report viewer and pass all 5 parameters.

SSRS Report Sorting issue in Dashboard created usign Performance point services in sharepoint 2010

I have created a report in SSRS and this report is integrated within a dashboard created using performance point services in sharepoint 2010.

The report is a simple tabular report with 5 coulmns and interactive sorting is enabled on each of them.

Sorting works when the report is viewed separately but gives "Report Server Error" when I try to sort (on any column) inside the dashboard.

I have user IP instead of host name in the report server url.

Please help.

Report viewer webpart in sharepoint 2010 foundation with Reporting server in native mode, possible?

We have a product on sharepoint 2010 whose major feature is with the reporting services, we are checking to see if our product can be deployed in a minimum environment of sharepoint 2010 foundation.
we have a minimal test environment with the following :

windows server 2008 R2
SQL Server Express Advanced
Reporting services configured in Native Mode
Sharepoint 2010 Foundation.

I would like to know if we can enable report viewer webpart on sharepoint foundation 2010 with the reporting services in native mode. our plan is that even if the reporting services are not in sharepoint integrated mode, we are thinking of using web services to get XML data and using the XML data in report builder 3.0 to generate reports? will the idea work in this environment? if so can anyone let us know how to get the report viewer web parts in this environment?

Thanks for any help,

- Asif

Issue with toolbar when loading the RDL (upgraded to ssrs 2008 R2) via report viewer in MOSS 2007 se

Our front end server is Office SharePoint Server 2007 and the RS is SSRS 2008 R2 (native mode).

The toolbar is different when loading the same RDL (upgraded to SSRS 2008 R2) through report viewer and report manager. In report manager, the toolbar is color blue while when displayed through report viewer the color of the toolbar is light brown/yellow. Color blue indicates it is using the latest version of SSRS while the other color for previos version. Aside from that, the font of several texts in a table has increased to one point when viewed via report viewer compare to when viewed via report manager.  Is there an existing fix for this?

Windows authentication issue - unable to run report from sharepoint library

I have an extended Sharepoint web application which allows windows authentication access and in the Reporting Services Integration section in Central admin i have selected windows authentication.  I have written a SQL report which uses an XML datasource and uses windows authentication to connect to the sharepoint lists.

  • The datasource connection string is: http://<my windows authentication site>/_vti_bin/lists.asmx
  • The reportserver url i've given in my report solution is http://<my windows authentication site>/

I can preview the report from within Business Intelligence Studio and it returns the data correctly.  I created a document  library and set it up for reports, deployed my solution and tried to run the report but i get the error :

An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot impersonate user for data source 'MyDataSourceName'(rsErrorImpersonatingUser) .  This data source is configured to use Windows integrated security. Windows integrated security is either disabled for this report server or your report server is using Trusted Account mode. (rsWindowsIntegratedSecurityDisabled)

Hi All,

I have was asked to built a report model on the cube for some users and being new to report builder 3.0.

Two measure Groups/mearsures  : ClassFact/ClassHours and FacilitatorFact/FacilitatorHours.

The problem Starts

Now a report model is built on top of it, then in the query wizard when I pull both groups and then FName the Classhours(measure) Disappears.

Does Report Modes supports Many to Many or am I missing something? Any help will be appreciated.

Silverlight Slideshow Viewer for SharePoint

This series will walk through the Building Blocks that I have created to demonstrate and improve the SharePoint end user experience. I have been using many of these techniques in my developer focused demos for SharePoint 2010 (and in some cases SharePoint 2007). My plan is to use this post series to distribute my code and provide more detail on the why and the how of many of my code samples

Multiple Paramatized Threading issue

I need the funcitonality to have two methods run concurrently of each other and the parent thread (aka the method that makes these two calls) to halt until BOTH are done. After the threads are done, I need to perform logic on the returns of the method, so it is essential for both of them to be complete before the parent thread continues. I have searched the internet and tried varous attacks, and I always come up with the same result, this being the parent thread continues operation after the first thread finishes, leaving the second thread running.  Can someone show me a quick example of how I can do this. I have tried checking states of the threads, halting the threads, but I always end up with the same thing. Any help would be great. Thanks.
