when my information worker creates a new 'internal press release' she wants it to mail it to all employees. Preferable mail the content of the page as Rich Text.
Is this possible and if so how?

I want to write own control which can contain other. And I want to define content of the control in the .aspx file where the control is defined. I have written such control. But now I have issue with ViewState of inner controls of my control. The following samle illustrates the issue: I defined two asp:DropDownList ID="ddl1" and ID="ddl2" One of them is inside of my control and other is outside. When posback is occurred asp:DropDownList ID="ddl1 loses state and becomes empty. How to say ASP.net to store state of inner controls defined by this way?
<%@ Control Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="MyControl.ascx.cs" Inherits="DynamicControls.Controls.MyControl" %><div class="box"> <div class="Header-Left"> <div class="Header-Right"> My Control </div> </div> <div class="Content"> <asp:PlaceHolder ID="contentPlace" runat="Server" /> </div>&
I have a CEWP with some content in the default.aspx page on one site, and I downloaded and uploaded the default.aspx page to another site collection. But when I display the default.aspx page in the browser the CEWP is not there anymore.
Is the CEWP detached from the default.aspx page and must also be copied over to the new site collection? If so, then where is the CEWP stored?
Thanks for any help.
I have a list that when displaying the DisplayForm.asp does not show all the columns of my content type. I double checked that the column Status was Optional( not Hidden), so I don't understand why they don't show up. Can anyone advise please?
For site visitors that only have View rights, DisplayForm is the logical way to view the list item, so they need to see all columns.
Edit - I was able to get the missing elements to display by switching the column to Required rather than Optional. While I think this will work in my case because the new items are coming from a webservice that provides this data, it doesn't seem like
this should be required. I thought by default ALL columns/fields displayed on the forms UNLESS marked as hidden.
There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what your are trying to accomplish.
I would really like to have a little help, it should be easy but i can't find the answer
and it's been a while since iv'e done something with asp.net..
what i have now is a regular html pages website.
in some of the pages i have galleries,
I would like to make an aspx page to manage the content of the galleries or any other set-in advance content.
It's kind of a CMS, but it's not, since i would not be using a database.
what i want is just to get the admin's content from the aspx page
and send it to overwrite the images or the content of the DIVS in the html page.
at the final outcome, i will only want to have html files and one aspx file for the admin's editing use.
what is the most simple way to do that without using CMS?
Thanks a bunch!
SharePoint 2010 provides some new features on Calander views (of the OOTB calendar list). You can select a portion of the day and click "new event" directly in the calendar. This will take the selected startdate/time and enddate/time and prefill this in
the newform. When you enable Group Planning on the calendar it will also take the user (of the selected calendar) and prefill it in the newform as well. Very nice.
I have created multiple content types on the OOTB calendar and would like the give the user a intinuitive UI of selecting the correct content type. The idea is as follows. The user selects a portion of the day, and click "new event" directly from the
calendar. The user is taken to a custom page where he can select the desired content type and is then taken to the new form of the selected content type.
Now I'd like to take the values selected by the user (eventdate, enddate and user) and use them to create links to the newforms of the different content types. In Moss 2007 the selected values (startdate and starttime) were passed with the Querystring, which
How can i get these values (eventdate, enddate and user) and create multiple links with these values, which will pass them to a newform of the
I use sharepoint 2010 server Enterprise.
I need to display content types in a choice field on a newForm.aspx . After user choose content type, newform must show corresponding fields.
Is there any way to do this? I heared that there is a default column named Content Type but i cant find it.
I need to add custom action to actions menu of document library when user is in "content and structure" and can multiselect items from doclib. (doc lib is active in left side)
Any ideas how to add that?
By default the Action menu contains items copy, move, delete|checkout, discard checkout, checkin, publish, unpublish
Other option would be to add multiselect support to doc libraries.
Thanks for the ideas in advance,
The wizard then creates a solution on visual studio. The code behind will write generic code for updating/adding into sharepoint.i is there a wizard which will create content type with individual aspx ? If there is a wizard utility which prompts you for
fields and field types and then it will create code behind for the aspx.
With this done I can go at the code behind and ammend to put more logic.
I've created a library of basic aspx pages. I've turned on content types for that library. i've added a content type called "Overview" and I want to attach a template to that content type. The default template is _layout/bpcf.aspx.
How do I create an aspx page that can be added as a template to the content type? Does it have to be added to the _layouts folder? I've already discovered that you can't copy and paste it into the _layout folder.
Is there a solution for aspx pages that does not involve the _layouts directory?
we've created a layout page that contains the Rich Text Editor web part. But the client requires a web part that allows the embedding of audio/video files. The Rich Text Editor strips out the objects when we try to embed them.
I've used the Content Editor Web Part to add audio and video files (by manually adding the web part to the page), but I can't find the definition for that web part to include it in the layout page so that the client doesn't need to manually add the web part
themselves to every page that requires it. (Which could be many pages.)
Any help would be appreciated.
