Report Viewer Web Part - MOSS 2007

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 28, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi

     I am working with the Report Viewer webpart on sharepoint 2007 to display reports from another server (native reports). So now i am showing around 4 RS reports on the sharepoint site side by side. The reports seem to appear fine.

Now when i try to change the title of the Report Viewer webpart to display the name of the report it just dosent seem to change for more than one. Every time i click 'Modify Shared Webpart' the title of the report viewer webpart reverts back to the default 'Report Viewer'.

I also tried opening the sharepoint page using the 'Sharepoint Designer'. The titles seem to reflect the entries i have entered. But the titles just dont appear on the sharepoint page.

I have been trying to figure out if there is some autogeneration of webpart titles taking place but just cant seem to figure that out. Any help would be greatly appreciated as i have been stuck on this for quite some time.

Thanks

Sriraag

Issue with toolbar when loading the RDL (upgraded to ssrs 2008 R2) via report viewer in MOSS 2007 se

Our front end server is Office SharePoint Server 2007 and the RS is SSRS 2008 R2 (native mode).

The toolbar is different when loading the same RDL (upgraded to SSRS 2008 R2) through report viewer and report manager. In report manager, the toolbar is color blue while when displayed through report viewer the color of the toolbar is light brown/yellow. Color blue indicates it is using the latest version of SSRS while the other color for previos version. Aside from that, the font of several texts in a table has increased to one point when viewed via report viewer compare to when viewed via report manager.  Is there an existing fix for this?

Hey guys, I have 2 servers  in seperate domain one for database and other for moss 2007. SERVER 1 :     AD,DNS,SMTP,SQL SERVER 2005 sp3 .... SERVER 2:    MOSS 2007 APPLICATION SERVER with sp2 and october cumilative updates applied. i have even installed NDP20-KB913384-X86.exe hot fix for .net framework 2.0 access voilation error. In CA my server 2 version is 12.0.0.6520 When i installed sql server 2005 on server 1 during installtion for report server i choosed install but do not configure. Now I decided to integrate the sql server report services into sharepoint and did some research and found some articles on msdn which says in order to integrate the report services into sharepoint i need to have a minimal install of moss 2007 on server hosting report services (correct me if i am wrong). since i have only 2 servers i decided to install the minimal installation of moss 2007 on my server 1 ( Web front end only ). Here are the steps i followed for it Installed .NET framework 3.0 Installed moss 2007 sp2 Installed october cumuilative update for wss then same for moss 2007. Installed .net framework 2.0 NDP20-KB913384-X86.exe hot fix. and then ran the psconfig from command line as psconfig -cmd configdb -connect -server <SQLServerName> -database SharePoint_Config_ <dbname> -user <domainusername> -password <passw

Linking a WEBCAL calendar into a MOSS 2007 Web Part

I have been trying to link a WEBCAL calendar into a calendar Web part in MOSS 2007. I am able to import the WEBCAL into my Outlook, but have not figured out how to do so in a Web Part. I have tried tying it back to my Outlook 2007 calendar, directly entering the WEBCAL URL, and tried it as a Page View web Part as well.  I have had no luck other than getting various error messages saying that the URL is invalid or the page cannot be displayed.

I need the WEBCAL calendar to appear like an Outlook calendar, but on the MOSS page.

Here is an example WECAL URL that i have been working with.   webcal://www.ercot.com/ical/meetings?host_id=TAC

Any help or comments would be appreciated

Best Practice for connect SSRS Report Viewer Web part with custom filter web part (With Dropdown\Lis

To make a filter provider web part, I implemented the interface ITransformableFilterValues.
Implemented the various properties of the ITransformableFilterValues interface
and method that creates an instance of our filter provider.

[aspnetwebparts.ConnectionProvider("AccountFilter", "ITransformableFilterValues", AllowsMultipleConnections = true)]
public ITransformableFilterValues SetConnectionInterface()
{
return this;
}

Is this a best practice .Please share your suggestion.

Can I "hard-code" a particular report in the report viewer web part?

Hi there,

I am wondering if it is possible to "hard-code" a particular report in the report viewer web part, such that this report is automatically loaded when a user visits a particular site. I am asking that question because I do not want to select the same report each time I want to view it; I just would like to have a link that will get me the report right away.

Best wishes

Oliver

SPFeatureReceiver: Creating report viewer web part programmatically

I have a feature that adds a report viewer web part (SP integrated mode) into the newly created site page.

Problem: The feature activates without any problem through the UI, but I cannot activate it through STSADM (which will be the case when going to production).

Here is my code block that adds the web part to the page. This code block exists in FeatureActivated:

Assembly currentAssembly = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly();
string dwpStr = string.Empty;

try
{
    using (Stream resourceStream = currentAssembly.GetManifestResourceStream("Report.dwp"))
    {
        using (StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(resourceStream))
        {
            dwpStr = sr.ReadToEnd();
            dwpStr = string.Format(dwpStr, web.Url);
            sr.Close();
        }
        resourceStream.Close();
    }

    using (StringReader sr = new StringReader(dwpStr))
    {
        string err = string.Empty;
        System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.WebPart wp = wpMan.ImportWebPart((XmlReader.Create(sr as TextReader)), out err); //Exception thrown from this line
        wpMan.AddWebPart(wp, "HeaderZone", 0);
    }
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
    //Log errors
}
Report.dwp is as follows:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<WebPart xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance&q

How to pass multiple filter parameters to moss report viewer from custom filter provider

Hi,

I have written a custom filter provider webpart which implements ITransformableFilterValues to pass parameter value to moss report viewer webpart.

However, this interface only allows to pass one parameter. Please can someone guide me through correct resource which allows my custom filter provider webpart to pass multiple parameters to report viewer. E.g if my report has 5 parameters then my filter provider webpart should allow me to make connection with report viewer and pass all 5 parameters.

Report viewer web part: Dependency of parameter choices on user rights?

Hi there,

I am wondering if it is possible to restrict the choices for a parameter depending on the user rights. For instance, if an "administrator" can select three different options for one particular parameter, a "normal user" should only be able to choose from two.

I am using Sharepoint 2007 and Reporting Services 2005.

Best wishes

Oliver
