I have serveral databases that have no logins mapped to the user 'dbo'. I thought by default the 'dbo' gets mapped to the login that created the database, so that there should always be someone mapped to it. I don't know the history of these databases, but
could someone have removed the login that was orginally mapped to it? Out of curiosity, how would you do that?
Also, if I open the database properties window fotr these databases, there is an Owner assigned. Where does this "Owner" information come from. Could this login be the login that was originally mapped to the 'dbo'?
The fact that there is no login mapped to the dbo is not causing any problems because we do have certain users in the db_owner group and also a sysadmin login that can do stuff on it, but just curious why these certain databases have nothing mapped to the
