Multiple Submit Connection Problem

Hello everyone,

I have an InfoPath form with two Submit Connections. One of them is a regular submit connection to a SharePoint Document Library. The other is a submit connection to the UpdateListItems web Service.

I have one button using rules that submits the forms fields to the Document Library. Some of those fields have data validation rules like entry must be four digits, and field cannot be blank.

The other submit button uses rules to submit an XML template to the UpdateListItems Template. My problem is that even though this second button does not have the first submit connection as an action, the form will still check all of the forms fields to see if they violate the validation rules before it will submit to the Web Service.

How do I tell InfoPath to ignore the validation rules when I only want to submit to the Web Service? I want the user to be able to enter data into the XML template fields and submit to the Web Service, even if some of the rest of the fields are blank. Right now if any of the other fields fail validation it prevents submittal to the web service even if the fields that failed validation are not being submitted to the web service.

Thanks for any advice that can be offered,
Bill Hurt

Excel Connection Manager Problem

I am building a package that has 2 tasks that need to use the same excel connection manager. I use a execute sql task to dynamically build a table from the headers of the excel sheet  ,then I use an excel source component to load the data from the sheet. However when I try to edit the excel source and switch the data access mode to a variable and select the variable(for the path), when I try to close the editor I get this message 'S:\myfolder'.  It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data. I need this package to access the same folder each time because the files will be placed in that folder. This package also has a branch for loading a text file into sql server. It access the same folder but uses a flatfile connection manager It looks like permissions on the folder are correct

Context Connection problem in SQLCLR

I am using context connection in the sqlclr (and there are reasons to do so). While a datareader is under execution that uses the context connection, I need another database read passing one of values being read from the datareader. Since I cann't use the context connection for this second read (as context connection is already in use), how can I create a second connection to be used with this second read. I cannot create the hardcoded connections string for the second connection as the database is dynamically selected. The database is same as used by the context connection. I can use the server=localhost though, but cannot hardcode the database name as the database can be different in different sqlclr proc call. However the database is same as used by the context connection. (If I somehow get the database name from the context connection then I can use it to create another connection, but I am expecting an even better solution)   Any solution to this problem? Will be very thankful.

When I check out a Word 2007 document from a list, I cannot save it back to the server.  I get:   This file cannot be saved to this location because there is no connection to the server.  Check your network connection and try again.   I am using a Virtual Machine (Virtual PC).  I have the Microsoft Loopback adapter installed.    The server has a static IP address and is a domain controller. I am able to access the web folder through Windows Explorer.   How do I set up Office, Sharepoint and Webdav so that I can check files out of sharepoint and save them back, on a virtual machine?

A connection could not be made to the report server - Problem deploying an SSRS report from Business

I’m having trouble with what seems to be a common issue for people, regarding deployment of an SSRS report from Business Intelligence Development Studio. Unfortunately none of the solution I have seen posted here (and elsewhere) have been able to help me so far.   Two of my collegaues can both deploy with no problem, and I am using exactly the same Target destinations as them (TargetDataSourceFolder, TargetReportFolder, TargetServerURL).   I have posted the error message below, which from my basic understaning would indicate, I think, a security issue (perhaps something local to my PC, or user account)   Has anyone experienced this particular issue who might be able to help?   Best wishes, Jamie TITLE: Microsoft Report Designer ------------------------------ A connection could not be made to the report server http://turpin-net.turpin-bg.local/Reportserver. ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Client found response content type of 'text/html; charset=utf-8', but expected 'text/xml'. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)i am using the connection string which is written on the control panel. the connection string is like this, workstation id=xxx.mssql.somee.com;packet size=4096;user id=user;pwd=mypassword;data source=xxx.mssql.somee.com;persist security info=False;initial catalog=mydatabasenamewhat is the problem , why my page is giving that error? how can i fix it?thanks.

Database connection problem in ASP.NET

Hello,            I m having a database problem that I couldnt identify. The IIS loses connection to database once in 3 weeks.  Once  you restart the IIS everything is normal. Looks like IIS is fine because i can go to static pages. When I go to a page that requires database connection I get this error: A transport-level error has occurred when sending the request to the server. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - Either the application has not called WSAStartup, or WSAStartup failed. A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)   Is this a connection string problem?. because without changing anything if I restart the webserver all is fine.  Is this a problem with application state?   It cant be at the sql server side as other applications on the machine work fine. There is something going on with IIS not sure what it is.   Any help would be appreiciated.   Thanks, Bharani

SQL Server Express 2005 connection timeout issue.

Client: Sql Sever Management Studio Express 2005 (SSMSE) on Vista Server: Sql Server 2005 Express on Windows Server 2008 Standard When I first try to log into SSMSE from the client machine, the login operation times out. When I retry, the login succeeds almost immediately. If I close the app and re-open it, the same thing happens. This appears to be infinitely repeatable. I am able to reproduce this behavior using SQLCMD.exe. Here's the error: "Timeout expired. The timeout elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. (Microsoft SQL Server)" The technical details reference Error Number -2 What may be unique or tricky about this client's network is that it's a mixture of IPv4 and IPv6. I believe the server is configured for both, but honestly the networking side of things is outside of my expertise. Has anyone else experienced a problem like this? I'm looking for some troubleshooting tips and of course a flat-out answer :-). Thank you in advance for your time and expertise - I hope I've broken the problem down to its simplest form. Will.

Ajax Session timeout problem

Hi,  I have some problems when using AJAX with updatepanels. I have an ASP.NET webapplication with a login that uses form authentication with the timeout set to 5 min. After 5 min of idle the site should be redirected to the login.aspx page. My problem is that after using the site for 5 minutes when clicking on contents inside an updatepanel I get a messagebox with the following error: A Runtime Error has occurred.Do you wish to Debug? Line: 4723Error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 12031  I think that it has something to do with the ajax updatepanel since when I remove the updatpanels this problem does not appear. Instead the site is redirected to login.aspx as expected. When searching on the problem on google I see alot of people having similar problem, but I haven't found suitable solution. Any suggestions?

SQL Database Connection Timeout

How do you modify the default 15 second timeout Connection Timeout on SQL databases in SQL 2005, for all users? I am able to modify the value on an individual basis through the options menu on the SQL Server 2005 login window however when signing on as a different user the changes do not carry to that users profile.

Timeout child window problem

The users of our site have reported a problem where when you have a child window open and click around in the main window, the child window will time out even though there is activity in the main window. We use an encryptedFormsAuthenticationTicket and http cookie that expires after a timeout period using Response.Cookies.Add(authCookie). Is there an obvious problem from this description? We are using the back button prevention like so:   Response.AppendHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache") Response.AppendHeader("Cache-Control", "private") Response.AppendHeader("Cache-Control", "no-store") Response.AppendHeader("Cache-Control", "must-revalidate") Response.AppendHeader("Cache-Control", "max-stale=0") Response.AppendHeader("Cache-Control", "post-check=0") Response.AppendHeader("Cache-Control", "pre-check=0") Response.AppendHeader("Pragma", "no-cache") Response.AppendHeader("Keep-Alive", "timeout=3, max=993") Response.AppendHeader("Expires", "Mon, 26 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT")  Could this cause timeout problems in child windows? Any suggestions?
