Permissions are insufficient for deploying reports

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 27, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

Hi,

I am new to Report Services, and encountering one issue when trying to deploy the created reports.

I created reports in BIDS 2008 with AdventureWorksLT data, once the reports are created, I want to deploy the reports. I defined TargetServerURL as http://localhost/reportserver/, once click deploy, one error shows:The permissions granted to user 'my user name' are insufficient for performing this operation.

I want to know how can I get the permissions.

Regards.

Reports & User Permissions

We have SQL SERVER 2008 STD Edition. Im not understanding an issue. We have SQL Agent Job that sends out reports to all users. We have user categorized as Analyst,Sales Rep,Sales Rep Sub & General Users. All the Users have security levels.I created a view which has all the Users.. My question is how do i merge it with the SQL JOB or how can i alter the SQL job query to delivery reports based on security level Analyst have security level 3, so i want groupof reports sent to them. use Pricing go Alter View dbo.User_Access AS select S.SR_name,u.SRID,sr.SRsub_name,u.SRID_SubID,U.Userid,u.username,u.Email,u.SecurityLevel,a.AnalystID from dbo.Users uleft  join tbl_Analyst a on a.AnalystID=u.UserIDleft join tbl_SalesRep s on s.SRID=u.SRIDleft Join tbl_SalesRep_Sub sr on sr.SRID_SubID=u.SRID_SubID

Permissions insufficient when running report

I have a report on a server that I am able to run without issue when runnig it from the web. I can even run the report from a winforms app. When i try to run the report from Report Builder 2, I get the following error:

The permissions granted to user domain\username' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied)

When I use Report Builder, I can see the fields/tables/views etc that I need, I just can't run it from within RB2

The permissions granted to user 'Domain\user' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsA

Hi, I've scoured the forums and tried just about every answer to this problem without any success.   What I have is SQL Server 2005 installed on a single machine, and trying to deploy reports to the same machine for testing purposes.  When I try to deploy the report I receive the permissions error. Here's what I've gotten to at this point:

  •   I can get to the reports URL (http://machine/Reports)
  •  I can login to Reporting Services via SQL Server Management Studio as the administrator.  (Windows Authentication)
  • I have added my login to the Home Folder-->Permissions in SQL Server Management Studio, and all reports are set to inherit the home folder's permissions
  • In Reporting Service Configuration Manager the Windows Service Identity is set to Local System, and for web service identity - ASP.NET Service Account is set to NT Authority\NetworkService; Report Server and Report Manager are set to DefaultAppPool.
  • In IIS I tried enabling Anonymous Authentication
  • Current Application pools are set to "Classic" for Managed Pipeline mode (I did this to actually be able to login to Reporting Services via SQL Server management stu

Deploying SSRS Reports from Visual Studio 2010 to Report Manager 2008

Our Report server is using Report Manager 2008. Previously I would load reports to it that I created via BIDS. Now I have to use VS 2010. I see that I can build and deploy reports there. Can I send it from VS 2010 to the REport manager 2008 on the other machine? I should add that now i have to develop on laptop only before i was on the server.

If not what are my options? I recall that vs 2005 objects were not taken in Report manager 2008.

Insufficient SQL database permissions for user '' Event ID 5214

I am getting the Database Error Event ID 5214, with the Source of Windows SharePoint Service 3 on my MOSS 2007 SP2 server - this system has been running for the past year fine & without this error.  The general text of the error in Event Viewer is:

Insufficient SQL database permissions for user '' in database 'SharePoint_Config' on SQL Server instance 'illinois'. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below.

The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'proc_getObjectsByClass', database 'SharePoint_Config', schema 'dbo'.

Notice that there IS NO USER listed.  I can only find articles dealing with setting the proper user permissions etc...but nothing about this.  Why would no user be listed here & where do I go to fix this?  Why would this error start occurring?

Authenticated, when deploying the reports(SSRS 2008) to a sharepoint site

I created reports in SSRS 2008 for a sharepoint list. But when I tried to deploy it to the report library I used to get an authentication pop-up box again and again. I used all the username and password. But no luck. Does any one knows how to overcome this situation.

The permissions granted to user 'AD\myusername' are insufficient for performing this operation. (r

The admin of the reporting server added me to ALL roles except the My Reports role for a folder.  I am connecting to the server with different login credentials than the one on my desktop (different domain - domains not trusted). Once connected using the RS's domain and the account I have in that domain, I can view the reports just fine but get the above error when trying to see the properties of a report.

Any ideas why it's only letting me browse and view reports and nothing else?

Thanks

Having Trouble deploying first report, I think it is permissions problem

I think I got SSR installed ok.  From the Configuration Manager when I click on Web Service URL and Report Manager URL, IE opens and returns the correct pages.  I see report manager screen etc.

In BIDS I created a solution and a report that previews fine.  The properties page of the solution has a targetServerURL the same as what is in the Configuration Manager, web service URL tab; " http://IMB-T22:8080/ReportServer ".  IBM-T22 is the name of my computer.  8080 is the port it is using.  Port 80 is used by IIS and not running.

The TargetFolder was created ok...AdventureWorks, but the report does not deploy correctly.  If I deploy it times out.  If I debug I get I get the name of my report can't be found or a permissions error.

In the solution property page I have tried various differnt TargetServerURLs..Localhost/ReportServer...ibm-t22/ReportServer...ibm-t22:8080/ReportServer...Nothing seems to work.  Please help

I belive I am having permissions problem.  I can connect to database from BIDS and preview data in my report.

When I installed SQL Server 2008 SR2, I used an account name "NT Authority/Sytem"   I used this because it was in drop down and was having problems with "Owner"

In Reporting Services Configuration Manager I have the foll

Deploying Reports to Server

I have a number of .rdl reports developed using VS 2003. I am trying to deploy these reports to a server containing SqlServer 2008.

I keep getting the following error:

"No Report Server found at http:/ServerName/Reports"

The deploy then stops.

Anyone know why this is happening?

insufficient permissions and the UAC.

I realize this has been asked before but i can't believe that leaving the UAC turned off is the only answer??

Running Wndows 7 and RS2008 R2

User 'PCNAME\UserName' does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed.

Step 1. Turn off UAC and reboot.

Step 2. Go to Report Manager web site and yes, it works, so add my user account (even tho i'm already in builtin\Admin group) to the RS sys admin role.

Step 3. Add this site to trusted sites.

Step 4. Turn the UAC back on and reboot again - ugg

Step 5. Same error msg.

I even tried running IE as administrator.

Seriously?

Permissions issue when deploying a VB.NET application

I have developed an app in VS 2010 and deployed it on a Windows 2003 server.  Now I'm attempting to deploy it on a Win 2008 R2 server.

I am getting the following error message:

==========

ERROR SUMMARY

Below is a summary of the errors, details of these errors are listed later in the log.

	* Activation of \\Asiapp1\applications\OnlineClaimsImageProcessing\OnlineClaimsImageProcessing.application resulted in exception. Following failure messages were detected:

+ Configuration system failed to initialize

+ An error occurred loading a configuration file: Access to the path 'C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Config\machine.config' is denied. (C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Config\machine.config)

+ Access to the path 'C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Config\machine.config' is denied.

This is a VB.Net Console app, NOT an ASP.Net web app.

What account(s) must have what permissions on the above-referenced machine.config file for this to work?

Insufficient Permissions to alter table in SSMS Design View, can run ALTER Table successfully

Hello, are the permissions in the object explorer in management studio different for a login than what can be run in a query window for the same login? I have a developer I gave ddladmin so he can create/modify tables. He can open the table in design view in object explorer (gets a warning about possible insufficient permissions when he opens) but when he tries to add a column it fails with a permissions error. He scripted off the change and ran it in a query window, which worked fine. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.
