Problem connecting to report server from client machine

We've deployed some reports from a server machine which can be accessed without any problems if you are logged onto the server itself by going to the URL of http://servername/ReportServer. However if we try and access the reports from a client machine (even if we use the same administrator Windows account) we get the Windows security window appear asking for a Username and Password to be entered in order to connect to the server. We've tried entering this but we then just get a blank screen after being re prompted a few times to enter the details.
Now I'm not sure whether this will be a Reporting Services or a Windows issue. Could it be a setting within IIS? It can't really be a user thing as the same user works on the server but not on the Client machine so it's more of a machine problem. It's as if there are some authentication settings somewhere that need to be set.
We are using SQL Server 2008 on Windows 7.

Thanks a lot
Steve

Report Builder vs Oracle Discoverer

Hello, I need some information about Report Builder (SSRS 2005) vs Oracle Discoverer. Our data source are at 80% Oracle, but our user don’t like very much Discoverer. We have a data warehouse with OLAP system in SSAS (relational data mart in Oracle), reports and dashboards SSRS and Performance Point. Our idea is to change report tool from Discoverer to Report Builder. Many thanks

SQL server client tool installation on windows XP?

Hi My desktop is Windows XP sp3 and have office 2010, sql express 2005 management studio and Visual studeio 2008 sp1 installed.  We have a SQL R2 server installed last week.  I was able to use sql 2005 management studio to connect to the new sql 2008 R2.  Question is when i try to install 2008 R2's client tool using the 2008R2 iso image.  It look for windows installer 4.5 as prerequisite.  It fail in installing windows installer 4.5 with msg saying I am not the administrator and it require administrator right.  But I am logging in as administrator on local pc.  I also confirmed with our IT/Server guys and they confirmed that I have the admin right.  Then, I tried the following steps: a) reboot, log in as administrator locally b) checked eventviewer, no error/warning msg that stand out to me c) turn off symantec antivirus d) download windows installer 4.5 (WindowsXP-KB942288-v3-x86.exe   - install it locally   - run as administrator to install All the above steps seems not working, I am kind of out of idea.  Could some on please kindly help out.  All I need is the 2008 management studio and profiler install on my PC.  thank you, Ted.

WCF client consuming oracle webservice is inconsistently works

Hi, In my WCF client application, I am consuming the Oracle  webservices. Strangely this wcf client functioning inconsistently. That means sometime, it does not find the service endpoint and some times it does. Where the code and environment are absolutely same in both the cases. But when I use web services, I see the code works consistently. There is no endpoint listening at the address http://<serviceurl> Does any one faced similar issue with WCF? Thanks!

SharePoint - Report Server - Client Certificate authentication

Hi,I have a SharePoint site collection which requires client certificates. On the server I have configured Reporting Services in integration mode.I can call reports on other site collections which don't require client certificates but not on the site which does. On the site which requires client certificates the pages fail with the following error message:'An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report server. Verify that the report server is available and configured for SharePoint integrated mode. --> The request failed with HTTP status 403: forbidden'The error message indicates that SharePoint doesn't call the web service with a client certificate. Does anyone know how I can configure SharePoint to use a client certificate?Any help is greatly appreciated.Adam

The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle client

We are getting following error message while trying to execute sql package thru 'ExecuteNonQuery' our .NET code. This was working perfectly few days back, but suddenly VS2008 on our local is not able to execute the code. We are not sure what had exactly happened here, but code stopped working  on all develop machine all of sudden    Details for the error are as follows "The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle client" or sometimes "Typeinitializer exception" We were using oracle.dataacess.dll version 1.102.3.0 which was working fine.It still works fine when we deploy it in the production. We checked the GAC of the developer machines and Server,i found one difference that in the GAC of the server only the 1.102.3.0 is installed while on the developer machines, two version of oracle.client are installed in the GAC,one is 1.102.3.0 and the other is 1.102.4.0 When we run the code,it might be the case that .net framework is picking up 1.102.4.0 and that may be the problem,so we tried to include it in our project and that still gave us the same error !.We requested to uninstall 1.102.4.0 from developer machines but client refuses to uninstall that its security fix and can not remove it ! Than we thought to upgrade the version of oracle.dataacess.dll to 2.102.4.0 and code started working but it started giving onther trouble..which is
