Unable to install .Net Framework 4 - error 0x80070643

i have tried cleaning Temp folder, uninstalling previous versions of .Net with the cleanup tool, checked windows installer service (tried automatic and manual), tried running SFC / Scannow, running it with administrator, going to regedit and checking the values, tried to use Microsoft Fix it 50123 and it failed, and tried to reinstall microsoft installer 4.5 and said update does not apply... nothing works.  i have all updates installed on my computer except .Net 3.5 SP1 Family Update. it gives me error code 643.

no .Net programs show up in my add/remove programs list.

ive been trying to troubleshoot this for 3 days to no avail. any help?

Okay I've had absolute ____ with this program and if another program I used didnt require it I wouldnt bother with it because its not worth this hassle. I finally get 3.5 to downloaded after 4 days  which I was getting the same error for as I am now with that and I have no idea how I fixed it. I am not computer savvy in the least, so please assume I know nothing. Anyway thats not good enough need 4.0 .The error is I download the setup for .net framework 4.0 it lingers at about 5-10% approx and stays there the temp log says "A connection with the server could not be established"  And there in lies the problem since I am able to post this I'm clearly able to connect to something but not the microsoft download server. The os is vista and yes before its said I am running it as administrator. Any help/ideas on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,   I have Win 7 Professtional Home Edition installed in my machine. Should i need to install .NET framework 2.0 SP1  (i.e earlier Win XP with SP2 was my OS and i installed .NET Framework2.0 SP1 to make my application work correctly). Thanks R.VasanthThanks Vasanth

error 0x80131107,    Can't even load Firmware 2 and that's all it gives me other than I can uninstall it in my control panel(dee deedee) WHAT IS THE DEAL. Can't yall get anything right?

I am installing 2 instances of SQL Server 2005 Express for 2 different accounting packages on Windows XP SP3.  I have the first installed, after much use of the forums.  The version of setup.exe was 2005.90.2047.0. We have a SBS 2003 server that has automatically installed updates just fine for several years.  Now it is failing to install Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (KB110806).  The only error that I can find is Error Code: 0x641The server's C: drive has 5.2 GB free and the other hard drive (D:) has 61 GB free.  It has 2 GB of RAM and a 3GB paging file.I posted this in Microsoft's "Windows Update Newsgroup" and I was told to come here.  I was told to download the collect.exe file to collect the .NET logs, but when I run that, I get the error "No log file exists."I would appreciate your help.

While trying to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 i got some errors on .NET framework 4.0, so i tried the standalone .NET 4 installer from microsoft and i got these errors.

I have tried multiple times to download and install Microsoft.Net 3.5 SP1.
