Hi, is there any process flow diagram which I could use to understand the steps used to migrate from sharepoint 2007 version to 2010 version???

I am aware of a version dependency on the stsadm -o backup/restore operation.
But will the same dependency exist for a content DB backup restore..
i.e. for example will we able to restore a content DB backup taken from a server with version say 22.214.171.12477 to a server with say 126.96.36.19966 assuming that the versions of SQL is the same in both cases.
Will the version difference in SQL create issues
Thanks in advance
I'm trying to make our SQL Reports available on our SharePoint report center. I have SQL 2005 (sp3) report server that resides on the same server than our SharePoint 2007 server.
I'm suspicious that there is a version mismatch between the report server and the Reporting Services Add-in. Our SQL Report Server is 2005 SP3 and the Report Server version is 9.3.4035. However the SRS 2005 Add-in for SharePoint version that I just
installed is only version 9.00.3294.00.
Is there a more updated version of the SRS 2005 Add-in for Sharepoint?... or is SRS 2005 with SP3 is not compatible with the Add-in?
Please let me know what would be the best solution for
when i opened my site am getting following error, but moss 2007 server is Licensed Verison.
I made a backup of SharePoint farm from 2010 and tried to restore on a dev server and kept getting this error. I looked at the versions of SharePoint on both servers, and they were identical: 14.0.4763.1000
I'm posting this although it is not a question, but a statement that might help someone else. It took a while to notice that there had been an upgrade on the original server that the new dev box did not yet have... not an SP, but more like a hotfix
In Central Admin, go to "Upgrade and Migration". Click on "Check product and patch installation status". Scroll down the page of results and see if there are any links to updates that have been installed on the original server that are not on
the new server, or vice-versa. I did find a link on my original server. Clicking on it opened the update page, so I copied the URL, went to my dev server, opened that page and installed the update, and voila!
Can SharePoint Designer view the version history of a list? I want a workflow to send an email only when a specific column has been modified.
Apparently new Document Libraries created in Sharepoint are no longer set up the way we would like as far as version control.
Is there any way to set up SP so that any new document library created has specific settings, through Central admin control?
i do see that previous versions this was not possible, but was curious if they changed this in 2010?
I installed Sharepoint 2010 on my Virtual Box VM. I was having some problems accessing the configuration database and hence the central administration website. I couldn't figure out what was the problem, so I decided to uninstall and then reinstall the trial
version of SP 2010. But now it's not letting me do that as it says I cannot install the trial version on the same server. Its been only 2 weeks since I installed the SP 2010 trial version, how do I skip this. Please help
Please advice on the below requirement.
1) i developed a internet website on trial version of Sharepoint 2007.here i would like to deploy the website on to live.

we receive error while trying to create excel sheet using the template we have uploaded on the SharePoint 2007.
This occurs on a machine that has Office 2010 installed. Earlier the machine had Office 2007 and everything was working fine.
Can you let me know why is problem is coming and how to resolve this.
Does Sharepoint 2007 Server support the new Excel 2010 feaures like slicers? Or do i have to have Sharepoint 2010 to get that working (considering all other components besides Sharepoint 2010 are available in my Sharepoint 2007 environment) ?
We have build an MOSS 2007 environmentÃÂ on 64 bit servers. We build the reporting services server and configured in SharePoint integration mode. InitiallyÃÂ configuration looks fine with reporting services integration with green indicators.
After creating a web applicationÃÂ and accessing the web site from the report servor, i have found the followingÃÂ errors:
