SharePoint to Excel issues

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 27, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi all

I'm having a few issues and hope you can help

1) I have a field called Project Manager in my list. The column type is Person or Group and I have allowed for multiple selections. Unfortunately this column does not export to Excel with the rest?

2) I have some text boxes with rich text editor...the input has bullets but the output to excel doesnt not show the bullets and instead joins up the sentences showing one big paragraph

3) On a seperate note, is there any way to limit the amount of text one can enter in the text box?

I have WSS at my company.

Thanks in advance

Issues Exposing Excel Contents and SharePoint 2010

I have an Excel spreadsheet and I want to use it to trigger a work flow ... BUT ... I don't want to just use the creation or modification of it to trigger the work flow ... I want some data in the sheet to trigger it.

I was referenced to this article (http://tinyurl.com/29l98rl) and performed the steps as outlined ... and thought, "Great that was easy ... I am done !!"

Well ... that wasn't quite true.  After testing this out I soon realized that the data in the cell was not being populated into the Site Column and thus was not being populated back to SharePoint.  So I went back and double checked it and am pretty sure that I d

Issues accessing saved documents in SharePoint

Hello, I believe there is an issue with a current document link in SharePoint.  When we click on the main Document Folder (labelled - Project Descriptions) we are typically provided access to a large list of subfolders and documents.  For some reason now, when we click on the main Document folder, a dialogue box opens up prompting me with the following language:

Do you want to open or save this file?

  • Name: Allitems.zip
  • Type: Compressed (zipped) Folder, 6.13KB
  • From: sharepoint.ambit-consulting.com

If you click "open", you're redirected to a blank page in SharePoint.  Our documents are no where to be found.  Please help.
