CQWP - AdditionalFilterFields - Wiki Categories field not working

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 27, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hello All,

So, after about 2 hours of putzing with this thing and digging up information about internal names and whatnot, I have gotten my ContentQueryWebPart to display "Wiki Categories" in its list of "Additional Filters."  If you know anything about that field, it is a Managed Metadata field that can have multiple selections per content item.  I have tried setting this value for one or more of the available options, but when I try to save the web part I get an error:

"You must specify a value for filters on managed metadata fields"

You can see how I would be confused, since... well... I *DID* "specify a value" for that filter.

Is there some other piece of the puzzle that I am missing?

Here is the property I added to the CQWP so far: (I added the line breaks and extra tabs for forum readability)

	<property name="AdditionalFilterFields" type="MultiChoice">

CQWP: AdditionalFilterFields not working as expected

I've got a problem defining custom filters in a content query webpart. I've done this many times before, by altering the CommonViewFields and AdditonalFilterFields properties in an exported Content Query Webpart. But this time I run into problems... Here's what I did:

  1. I have created a content type called "Customer" based on the List Item content type. I didn't add any extra columns, so I only use its "Title" column.
  2. I then created a list called "Customers" and added the "Customer" content type to it. I added a couple of customer items to this list, i.e. "Customer A", "Customer B"... The values in this list are to be used as data for the lookup column I create next.
  3. Then I created a content type called "News" and added a (site) column "Customer" of type Lookup (with "Allow multiple values" set) to it. This column get its values from the "Customers" list mentioned at point 2.
  4. Then I created a list called "General News" and added the "News" content type to it. I added a couple of "News" items, making sure that for each item the "Customer" colum

Team Discussion Modified by field not working

Hello, I have a team discussion board set up which uses a threaded format. However, my issue is with the Modified by field. I believed this would show me the last user that had replied to a discussion but the field continues to display my user name since I was the creator of the discussions in the first place. Am I using the wrong field? Something tells me that the columns I have to choose from are all in regards to to discussions and not to the message replies themselves. In the end, I'm looking for something very similar to your forums here. Discussions should be displayed with title, created by, timestamp, last user who replied and timestamp.Beth Singley PBM Graphics

Problem with CQWP "There is a problem with one or more of the field values below"

Hi, I'm trying out the content query webpart combined with content types. First I created a new site collection. In this site collection, these are the steps I did: - I enabled "SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure" feature at the site collection level - I enabled "SharePoint Server Publishing" feature at the site level - I created a new site column "Is Meat Eater", which is a yes/no field and added this to a new custom group called "Zoo" - I created a new content type called "Zoo Animal" that inherits from "Item" in category "List", and added this to a new custom group called "Zoo" - I added my site column "Is Meat Eater" to this content type (so now I have Title + Is Meat Eater) - I created a new custom list called "SharePoint Zoo" - I enabled content types on this list - I added "Zoo Animal" from the existing content types - I removed the default content type "Item" from the list (so now only 1 content type left, my own) - I added a few animals in the list - I added a content query web part on the homepage - As source I chose "Show items from all sites in this site collection" - As List Type I chose "custom list" - As Content Type Group I chose "Zoo" - As Content Type I chose "Zoo Animal" - I hit apply at

How do I format a date time field in a CQWP to YY-MM-DD ?

Hi. I have been trying to get the date-time to look good for some time now, but have failed. I have a Content Query web part that picks up article pages from a page library. The pages contains a field called 'article date'. I want to show just the 'Title' and the 'Article date'. Doing this default gives me: My title 10-09-03 00:00:00 I want it to be: My title 10-09-03 Is this possible? I'm starting to realize that I probably have to edit the xsl styles for this webpart but if thats the answer, how do I do that? ThanksThomas Balkeståhl - Technical Specialist - SharePoint

How do I add categories to Wiki pages?

I have sharepoint 2010 and I need to add categories to my wiki pages. The problem is that the category field is greyed out and clicking the tags icon next to it does nothing (nothing opens, no error messages). I know this is looked after by the managed metadata and I have access to this and I can add/create/remove terms and groups. But for the life of me, I can't get the categories to open up and be usable. And I can't find any info on troubleshooting this. Can anyone help? I could be doing something stupid so forgive me if this is a dumb question.

Binding list to form not working with '&' character in list field data

Hi, I have a SharePoint list with a field called Title. I have a form based on this list with the field bound to the form as a label (for workflow to access). Here is the code for the form field. <asp:Label runat="server" id="ff2{$Pos}" text="{@Title}" __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('u',concat('ff2',$Pos),'Text','','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@Title')}" /> I have a workflow that runs through a form action button which take ff2 (title) and  does other stuff. The problem I have is with records where the value of 'title' contains the '&' character (example ab&cd). Blank is pulled in by the workflow when I get the value of ff2. I am guessing it has to do with the data binding and/or escape (special) characters coming through but I don't know how to fix it. Any help will be greatly appreciated

ReadOnlyEnforced not working? How to make a field always read only?

I want to create a custom content type (a feature) and includes a field that will be always displayed to user but always in ReadOnly mode.

I'm creating items from a worklfow and what to unable user to modify some values....

I'd make some reasearch and found the "ReadOnlyEnforced " attribute.

This is the attribute definition: Optional Boolean . TRUE to specify that the user cannot change the field by any means and that it can only be changed by the system.

This is what I do and redo again to be sure... but it's not working! I'm starting to be a little bit discourage about that, because I can't allow user to change value of this fields...

It's a little bit frustrating, because the definition gave in documentation is right what I need lol But it's not working...

Anyone had this kind of problem? Any solution?

CQWP rollup not working as expected

I have some site columns like “Show on Home”, yes/no, and on the home page a cqwp which shows posts which have “Show on Home” = yes.

This was working fine, then realize today that some of the site I had been setting up I had omitted the step of adding these columns – no problems I thought, just add these columns to content type for Post. Sure enough then appearing in these sites missing them.

Then I noticed that on the home page all the blog items were appearing, and the filter not working.

Try to display Wiki Content in the Content Query Web Part.

Calculated field Sorting Now Working , but have performance question

 Thanks to mitja.GTI.

My sorting is working ...

although i had to take the table that has my calculated column and make a view (so i could filter) and then bind the gridview to the view.

My question is as this.

1.) in order to get my calculated field i had to load my data into a table (as suggested)

2.)Add a column to the table and perform calculations

3.)make a dataview from the tables because i could not get the Gridview.datasource= ds.tables("loads").select("Deadhead <= " & sngRadius

4.)the largest of the 3 tables my query is based on contains about 7000 records. The way i have the logic & programming now everytime a new "truck location" is put in the textbox1 and "find loads/button1" is clicked. It calculates the deadhead miles of all 7000 records before filtering. I am filtering based on the deadhead miles.

Does anyone have any recomendation about how to speed this up a bit.

Also in order to get paging to work i had to rebind/filter the data again ... means looping through all 7000 records each time paging is called. This seems terribly ineffecient as i am already forced to use access instead of SQL.

User Profile working, but domain in the Account Name field is incorrect

Profile import is working with a small set of users from just one OU. The synchronization connection has a Forest Name of "corp.mycompany.com", just like in our current profile settings in MOSS 07.

However, the user profiles created are listed with "corp" as the domain, not "mycompany".

E.g. my profile Account Name shows "corp\eriehl", but it should be "mycompany\eriehl".

How do I update this reserved property to contain the correct value for our domain?

Report Builder returning #Error value in empty fields and working with Date field

Hey guys,

I am trying to build a report using the date field from CRM and only wanting to return the date I am using this expression "=Fields!new_date.Value.ToShortDateString()" but when there is an empty fiel I get #Error. How do I solve this?

Also is there anyway to return the date field with the actual month showing instead of the numerical value? i.e. instead of 1/31/2010 Have it show January 31, 2010 (Doesn't have to be exactly in that format, but want the name value for the month.)

Hi everybody,

I want use the CQWP to list all documents from all document libraries of concrete site and i want filter the result with a custom managed metadata field. When I set the query to do in a concrete document library, CQWP allows me to select the managed metadata field that I want to use to filter. AssignedTo field in taskproperties not working for users?

I've a custom workflow developed in VS2008. In this workflow i'm trying to assign a task to either a group e.g. TestGroup or any user(s) - these users i'm getting it from the list on which this workflow is associated.

when i'm creating a task in 'task_MethodInvoking' method and i set the AssignedTo field of taskproperties to the group (TestGroup in this case), it works perfect. Task is created and i can see the AssignedTo field in the task list.

However, when i'm trying to set this AssignedTo field to any user, it doesn't work !! the AssignedTo field in the task list item is empty. infact in code, while debugging, it shows the proper values of the user and everything seems fine. here's the code snippet

SPGroup group = currWeb.SiteGroups["TestGroup"];

SPFieldUserValue groupvalue = new SPFieldUserValue(group.ParentWeb, group.ID, group..ID, group.Name);

Guid taskID = Guid.NewGuid();

taskProperties = new Microsoft.SharePoint.Workflow.SPWorkflowTaskProperties();

string approvers = string.Empty;

if (this.workflowProperties.List.Title.Equals("TestList"))

                                //fetch values from list and set them as approvers

Working with SharePoint document libraries

Document libraries are collections of files that you can share with team members on a Web based on Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services. For example, you can create a library of common documents for a project, and team members can use their Web browsers to find the files, read them, and make comments. Users with Microsoft Office 2003 can check out and edit the files as if they resided on a local or network drive.

By default, your team Web site comes with a built-in document library named Shared Documents, which is listed on the Quick Launch bar as well as on the Documents and Lists page.
