Posted By:      Posted Date: October 27, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi friends,

Can you please explain, how i can tune a PeopleEditor control so it can search and select only AD groups?

I tried the following

<SharePointWebControls:PeopleEditor ID="ppeParticipantGroups" runat="server" Rows="1"
                CheckButtonImageName = "/_layouts/Images/WizardImages/user.png"
                BrowseButtonImageName = "/_layouts/Images/WizardImages/addressbook.png"
                PlaceButtonsUnderEntityEditor="false" MultiSelect

Dropdown control issue while selecting the value in IE8.

 Hi,

I am facing an issue while selecting a dropdown list value in IE8.

In IE8, while selecting the item in the dropdown list, the control goes out of focus immediatley when clicked for the list of items to select.It makes very hard for the user to select the value from dropdown list.

This dropdown control has some CSS settings enabled for it. I am not sure if this is an issue.

Any suggestions/ideas on this issue.

Thanks.

e.Result in selected vs selecting event of linqdatasource control

hello,

in the selected event it seems even though e.TotalRowCount really is the total row count, when I cast e.Result to a type in order to access the actual data only the current page of data is there? not all.

IEnumerable<InventoryGridItem> items = (IEnumerable<InventoryGridItem>)e.Result;

items only has the 15 records for the current gridView page, not all the records, is this normal? If I need to access all the items in the result do I need to stick with the selecting event instead?

How To Populate PeopleEditor Control on Workflow Initialize Page

Hello.

I have an InfoPath form which is serialized into a custom workflow.  In the InfoPath there are some fields that contain the usernames of users in the format "DOMAIN\username".  This works fine and I can see those values passed into the workflow.

But I want to put those values into PeopleEditor controls on the WorkflowInit.aspx page when it is loaded so that the user does not have to re-enter the values.  I have the following code below on the OnLoad event for the aspx page but nothing appears in the PeopleEditor Controls.  They remain blank.

Where am I going wrong?

protected override void OnLoad(EventArgs e)
    {
      base.OnLoad(e);

      EnsureChildControls();

      //Get the Workflow Name
      m_workflowName = Request.Params["WorkflowName"];

      // The reason we do it on postback is that some
      // other user may have added a list by this name since the last time we
      // checked.
      GetListItemInfo();

SharePoint PeopleEditor control is not working properly inside UpdatePanel

WSS 3.0

I have a page with UpdatePanel and PeopleEditor control inside it. PeopleEditor control does not restore selected user(s) after post back.
Searching over support forums gave me some answered questions but page with solution http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointdevelopmentprerelease/thread/b4756f6b-0940-4c2c-9c09-3d7dd7646fef is not found now.

Where else can I find the solution for this issue?

Selecting One Checkbox Control In DataGrid Control Using MVVM Using Silverlight

In this post I will show you how to select single check-box control when you have single check-box control in each row of the datagrid control. As you all know that check-box controls are normally used for the multiple selection and radio buttons are used for single selection. But there are sometimes requirement that control should be check-box and selection should be single. Mean if user view data in the datagrid control then he/she should only select one check-box at a time not more then one. Main page is shown in the Image 1. Here you can see that I have placed check-box control in the first column of the datagrid control which I have also highlighted.

Adding Dynamic Rows in ASP.NET GridView Control with TextBoxes and with Delete functionality

In my previous examples, I have demonstrated on how to add dynamic rows in GridView control with TextBoxes and how to save the values into the database. Now, seems that most of the developers are asking if how to add a delete functionality with it. So in this example, I'm going to show on how to delete a certain row in the dynamic GridView with TextBoxes.

Accessing the different controls inside a GridView control

how we can access a particular control which resides inside a GridView control. In this article I will show you how you can access different controls inside a GridView control. We will see how we can access a TextBox control, a DropDownList control and a ListBox control. If you are working with ASP.NET 1.X then you might want to check out my article Accessing Different Controls Inside a DataGrid.

In-Depth look at the GridView Control

In the last article we looked at few of the new controls available in Asp.net 2.0. We also talked about Grid View Control which has replaced the Asp.net 1.1 DataGrid control for good. In this article we will examine more features of the Grid View control. In this article we will see some of the common operations that can be performed using the GridView control. Apart from these operations there are many more functions that can be performed on the control and which we will see in the later articles

ASP.NET repeater control - databind with style

even used the inline editing features, which I at the time thought was the coolest way possible to write ASP.NET code ( I managed to write code to hide all other rows and only show the current one - the row being edited). With a nice looking EditTemplate it looked indeed very slick but it really turned into giant and hard to manage code behind files.

Creating Paging for a Repeater Control

A common question is "How do I implement paging within a Repeater?" Although the beauty of the Repeater control is its flexibility, you're on your own for building most functions. ASP.NET 2.0 has included some new controls that provide paging, as does the DataGrid in ASP.NET 1.1. However, this tip shows you how to roll your own paging for a simple data viewer.

Using TemplateFields in the GridView Control

The GridView is composed of a set of fields that indicate what properties from the DataSource are to be included in the rendered output along with how the data will be displayed. The simplest field type is the BoundField, which displays a data value as text. Other field types display the data using alternate HTML elements. The CheckBoxField, for example, renders as a checkbox whose checked state depends on the value of a specified data field; the ImageField renders an image whose image source is based upon a specified data field. Hyperlinks and buttons whose state depends on an underlying data field value can be rendered using the HyperLinkField and ButtonField field types.

RadioButton Groups, Table Rows And NamingContainers in asp.net

The RadioButtonList. Very handy for inviting users to select just one item from a list although because of the screen real estate it takes up, used less and less in favour of the DropDownList. In plain HTML, the browser knows to enforce the unique selected value amongst a list of radio buttons because they all have the same value for their name attributes.
