Sharepoint 2007 - Wiki site - New Pages Not Inheriting Custom Master Page

I am working on a SP site (MOSS not WSS) which is heavily customised away from the OOTB layout. I need to create a Wiki site, which was going well - I've created a master page which displays the miniconsole (this was not visible with our customised layout), and made it the default master page for the site. This has been applied to the two standard pages that come with the Wiki site, however when a new page is created, it seems to inherit the default.master, rather than my custom master page - thus not showing the miniconsole.

When I have created a new page, I am able to use SharePoint Designer to attach my custom master page to it, which works perfectly, however this will not be a viable option going forward as end-users create their new wiki pages.

How can I get the new pages to inherit my master page when they are created?

Adding a custom ASP page to a sharepoint 3.0 site

I have a custom ASP page that I need to add to my sharepoint 3.0 web site.  I created a virtual directory under my website and placed the ASP file.  When I link to the ASP file, I get a 404 page not found.  To make sure I had the correct URL path, I created a test html file and placed in the same virtual directory and linked to it just fine.  I think it has something to do with managed paths and sharepoint trying to control this new ASP content.  I cannot figure out how to exclude this content from managed paths.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue so I can run this custom ASP file under sharepoint 3.0?

Overriding web.config in sharepoint webpart/using custom membership in web part

I'm developing a web part for MOSS 2007. The web part is being deployed to a web application which utilizes forms-based authentication, and role/membership providers to control users. The membership table has been edited to include addition user info (I am aware, that this isn't the best way to handle additional user, i.e. profiles etc., however, this is a requirement from another department). Since my web part needs to access this information, I was thinking of implementing a custom membership provider. So far I've followed: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/6tc47t75.aspx and I've got my custom membership class, and a very stripped down membershipprovider-class. But how do I enable/use this membership provider in my web part? I've tried creating a simple web.config in the "WebPartCode" folder of my solution, next to my webpart code file, with connection string and membership provider tags. But I don't even really know how to build/reference/use the membership provider itself, so I don't know what else I need to do. I've built a C# class library project with the two classes (membershipprovider and custom membershipuser) and compiled it and installed it in the global assembly cache - is this correct? and how do I access them from here? Hope someone can help

Custom Web Part Problem After SharePoint Restore

Hi, I've recently moved our sharepoint site and databases (using Microsoft Internal Database) to another standalone server. I did a catastrophic backup and then restored it on the destination server successfully via the central Administration page. I have also copied our custom web part library dll to 'c:\windows\assembly' directory and 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80\bin' directory. I also copied over the old web.config file to 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80'. However, I still seem to be missing something as I get the error below while loading the site. I haven't been able to find a solution so hoping someone has seen it before here. Has anyone seen this happen before? Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Can I deploy a custom site page from the VS2010 SharePoint project?

Hi We're setting up some demos of our sharepoint plugins and want to easily deploy these into sharepoint so that all members of the company can easily get the demos running on their own machines. This is fine for layouts, web parts and so on - but the demo also has a customised sharepoint home page (which I edited in SP Designer) - how do I make this edited home page part of the VS2010 project so that it can be deployed easily to any site collection?   Thanks

Passing values from web page to custom security trimmer in SharePoint 2010

Hi, In SharePoint 2007 we had a custom security trimmer that implemented ISecurityTrimmer interface. We also had a custom webpart used for search. Now, using HttpContext we passed values from the webpart to security trimmer with additional info needed to trim the results. It worked since trimmer was executed in the same w3wp process as webpart. Now in SharePoint 2010, the architecture for ISecurityTrimmer2 has changed, as it's executed in search process (other w3wp) - not the webpart w3wp so it has no access to the HttpContext. Question is: how to pass custom data, in form of the string, to a security trimmer when search is done from custom code in webart?

Adding a custom control to the SharePoint 2010 Team Site Wiki Page Template ( wkpstd.aspx ) programm

Topic This is maybe my last post about the Team Site Wiki Page customization with the aim of exceeding its limitations. This time we are going to customize the unique template ( wkpstd.aspx) by replacing the control that renders the editable content by a custom one. In this post example, we will take advantage of the use of this custom control to render not editable additional contents, for instance, a header and a footer that could be the same for a specific Wiki Page Library. Of course, we are not going to really customize the template, but we are going to use a delegate control to replace the control at runtime. Here are the screen shots of the result: We can see a non editable Header and Footer on the Team Site Wiki Page In edit mode these additional contents are not rendered, but we can add new content as usual And of course, after having saved the page, the new content is rendered wtih the non editable Header and Footer. Steps required   If you look at the Team Site Wiki Page template, wkpstd.aspx, you can see the control that is rendering the editable content/ <SharePoint:EmbeddedFormField ID="WikiField" FieldName="WikiField" ControlMode="Display" runat="server" /> We are first going to create a custom EmbeddedFormField control Then, we are going to use a delegate control to replace the native EmbeddedFor

How to create a custom page layout in sharepoint foundation 2010

I need to create a custom page layout in sharepoint foundation 2010.

I am aware that wss 3.0 and sharepoint foundation do not have the publishing infrastructure.

I need to know if the same procedure that is used to create custom web part pages in WSS 3.0 is to be used in SharePoint foundation too or are there other ways.

I am relatively a fresher to sharepoint technology. Please help.

Thanks in advance:D.

Sharepoint 2010 custom .aspx page for custom functionality

I want to include a custom .aspx page with code behind in sharepoint 2010. This aspx page is supposed to take data
from custom list and generate an xml. So the output is xml. Our site is an internet facing site and it is anonymous
access. Some swf files are using this aspx page to get dynamic data from list in xml format. When flash is trying
to get xml from this page sharepoint first redirects to login page. I need help from you guys, since I am new in sharepoint I got really struck here.

Thanks in advance,
Jiju Alex.

Custom web part properties are not saved in SharePoint 2010 visual web part

I have created my first visual web part in SP2010.  In 2007 version I didn't use user controls so all of my code was in a single file for the most part.  Now I've separated out the code.  Everything works great and I like this a lot better (more like traditional ASP.NET development) with one exception.  In my bootstrap .cs file (I call it that because it does nothing but load the user control file) I put all of my custom web part properties.  Then in my web part code-behind I reference them thru an instance of the containing class.  I must have something incorrectly configured because none of the changes to the properties at runtime are getting updated in the code.  Here's a filtered view of how I have it wired together:

Sample property in the top level .cs file:

private string m_ImagePath = "sites/myapp/images1/branded_image.png";
   WebDisplayName("Relative path to header image"),
   WebDescription("Relative path to header image"),
