I'm trying to POST data to an aspx page.
I've got a button click event (btnSend_Click) within which I want to programmatically POST data ("key1=value1", "key2=value2") to another aspx page ("ReceivingPage.aspx") on my site. It would be very easy to do if it were a GET, cos I'd just append the data key/values to a query string of a HyperLink control. But How do I do this as a POST?
Thanks for the help.
Please help me, I have been trying this for a week now and this is how far I have gotten.
I am new to this, and I am using MS Visual Web Developer Express.
OK - This is what I have come up with, but when I run it I get the following error (I decided to just try to use a simplified table just to get an understanding of the basic concepts):
Partial Class label_form Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click ' Declaring variables Dim username, labelname, ownersname, address1, address2, city, state, zipcode, country, contactnumber, emailaddress, data_source, con, sql_insert
' Check if Necessary Text Is Missing ( will do this once I can get it to work with no empty text boxes)
' Get Values from TextBoxes username = txtUserName.Text labelname = txtLabelName.Text ownersname = txtOwnersName
Hi all, I have to create an RDLC report in asp.net. For which I am writing a stored procedure using different scalar functions. I have a GUI from which I have to select a criteria and collect data according to that criteria. The GUI is here:
I have implemented all cases like "All Staff", "All services", etc
but the problem comes when I have to select specific records from list
box and bring data according to that. For example I select specfic Staff
records from list and my report should display the records only having
that selected records.
How can I handle this? I mean when I select some records from listbox,
how can I take these records to the where clause of my stored procedure
and how to use it there?
I am using SQL SERVER 2008.
Any help would be appreciated.
I have sharepoint list that user raise a question on it,then I want to collect data from Manager to confirm this question.
I create workflow when item created with collect data action, I want to show the item that user add to list in collect .aspx page that manager can

My organization uses a CMD file to install updated files for a major enterprise application. Currently, we send out an email to users with a link to the file and instructions to run it, BUT inevitably users don't update their machines until their in field and try to start the app.
We're now liking the idea of using an ASPX page to prompt the users to run the updates and to capture the fact that the updates have been run. I realize that we can't capture the success or failure of the update. But we'd like to capture the user accessed the page.
Is it possible to embed into the markup for the page a link to the file on the local intranet that the users can click on to run the file?
The user accessing the page would capture that they did just that. We'd deal with wether or not the update was actually installed or if it failed later with them directly.
I've a problem with my Visual Studio.
On the 13th of August 2010 i installed a Windows update on my vista sp2 pc. For this date my Visual Studio 2008 sp 1 always has closed itself by opening an aspx-page in designer view. There is no error message just closing the window. I restored a backup of my windows from the time before updating it and it helped, i could open aspx pages in the design view till the update has been installed again automatically after rebooting the pc. I can't disable windows updates, cause it's my pc at work and safety is very important. I hope you could help me out of this disaster.
I have a classic asp web application. I am trying to add an aspx(C#) page to the existing asp application.
The existing asp pages have include pages for header and footer. How to add the classic asp include files in aspx page.
Also, How to deploy the aspx page in the existing classic asp web application.
In my app, I am displaying an Rss Feed, I have a button that takes the user to another form where they can select a them. Upon selecting the theme, they are taken back to the original form.
If the user has selected which theme they want to view then they click on the button to change theme, I need to pass the information about what rss feed they were viewing through session so that once they select the theme they want they are redirected back to the main page and the rss feed they were viewing should still be displayed.
Since I've already bound the data to the xmlDataSource and DataList I am trying the following:
I'm not sure I am passing the data over correctly and I'm not sure how to specify it in the page_preinit.
have a modal popup and a GridView in it. The GridView is populated
programmatically, i.e. I use .DataBind(). I can enter data into some of
the GridView's controls. After I press Submit, I expect to do something
with the entered data. But in the button press handler, the GridView is
empty. I realize that I have to DataBind() again in the handler, but how
can I preserve the data the user enters? Thanks.
i have an application that uses sessions.
i have set at the web.config:
<forms loginUrl="Default.aspx" protection="All" timeout="30" name=".ASPXFAUTH" path="/" requireSSL="false" slidingExpiration="true" defaultUrl="Default.aspx" cookieless="UseCookies" enableCrossAppRedirects="true"/>
and at the global.asax.vb
Sub Session_Start(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Session.Timeout = 30
and at default.aspx.vb
Protected Sub LoginButton_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Session("userName") = Login1.UserName Session.Timeout = 30 ' minutes of session '
At a local iis on windows xp works fine,
but when i publish it at the webserver i am redirected to the default page after about 30 sec!!!
I'm developing a web-site, that uses SWFUpload for
multiple files upload to the server. Page, that uploades files, is
accessable only to registered user. Authentication is done via
web-forms (authentication mode="Forms" in Web.config). Flash uploades
files to special web page - upload.aspx. In IE everything works great,
but Flash player in non-IE browser (in Firefox, for example) does not
send any cookies to upload.aspx. Because of it no sesion and no
authentication information is available in this page.
I can pass
all the information, necessary for uploading, in GET-parameters, which
upload.aspx recieve. But this is a serious security hole and I don't
want to expose session information. I can pass session identifier in
GET-request. But the question is the following: how can I restore
session information from the session identifier? How can I make
HttpContext.Current.User point to currently logged in user in this case?
I have some logging that has to be done, which are some database update or inserts.
However this logging is of no importance to the user, so I only want to process the data/logs after the page is completed for the user.As of now, if I process the data while the page is loading, I go from 1.4 to 2.0 speed (server side time processing of code), which is quite a bit comparing it is of no use to the user.
So I want this code only executed after that the page is complete.
I've been checking out Ajax, async pages etc, but the problem is it still gets executed before the page is rendered to the client, which means the client will have to wait longer then it is not being processed.
I've been checking out Threadpool.queueBackgroundWorker, however if I get it correct, this will still be executed before the page is shown to the user, as it has to complete before the prerender.
Then I thought about creating a new thread, and do the processing there, which would not have my page waiting to complete the data/logging.However when I have 100 or 200 users loading pages at the same time, then that would mean I would be creating 200 threads on those loads, which I doubt will be good for performance. So if I want to solve this, I would have to create my own threadpool and only assign for example a max of 40 threads to it which can pr
I have classes in App_Code:Connection.cs, ClientData.cs ....I have a folder Authenticated within it have an aspx page Client.aspxHow do I access the page through Client.aspx ClientData.cs the class, because there is a mistake for me to define the class as I do, please help me!
