I have a SQL Server 2008 database that I am using on the backend of an ASP.NET web application. The application uses a field in one of the tables to store a PDF as a filestream object to be viewed by the end-user. I have been using the application since April of this year without incident but now the same application cannot read any of the files. I have not touched any of the code since July 30th. The last known time that the end-user was able to view a file was @ 6:30PM on Friday, October 15th. Since that time, noone can view - regardless of browser, version, Adobe Reader version, etc.... I have checked with the server admins and none of the servers or software have been updated since prior to 10/15.
My question is - if nothing has changed why is nothing working? The entire application works with the exception of viewing the PDF. The Adobe error reads - "Acrobat could not open '<filename>' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged." This includes files that we viewable prior to 10/15!
Can anyone shed some light?
