Using the BDC API how to catch the returned code when executing a stored procedure?

using BDC API, how can i catch the return code a stored procedure returns?

I tried Entity.Execute to execute a generic method. However, it returns an empty Entity table.

I know you can do it by setting up an output variable. I prefer returning an integer for tracking errors.

Any ideas?

Closing dialog in code behind

I have been trying to close a dialog using code behind with no success.

The user should click a button, some processing is done and then the dialog should be closed.

I tried doing this using this code:

ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(this, typeof(string), "open", "window.top.close();", true);

But the dialog is never closed. What am I doing wrong?

Code Behind Not Executing

This is likely something very obvious.  I have a browser-based form with code behind that functions as expected when previewing it with the client.  It uploads and activates fine through central admin.  The form opens and behaves as expected except the change events are not firing on the controls where there is an event handler in the code behind.

Does anyone know what I'm missing?

Error Executing Package for Analysis Cube in GP 10 (More than one code)

i installed GP 10 in SQL 2008 and windows 2008, and then installed the analysis cubes.

when try to execute the package DynamicsGP__to__Package_Master i got the error:

Error: the column "INTERID" can not be processed because more than one code page (1252 and 1256) are specified for it.

Error: the column "CMPNYNAM" can not be processed because more than one code page (1252 and 1256) are specified for it.

after searching, i found answers by Mr. Mohammad R. Daoud about removing any linked server, so i take a copy of the data and installed in another test server but it gave me the same error. i checked the test server for any linked server but there isn't any.

what should i do? i need to to make it work in the test server, and also in the real linked server.

Buttons not firing after closing ModalPopupExtender

I hava an aspx page with a couple of tables and an UpdatePanel on top of the page. Everything on the page works fine until I show (from code-behind) the UpdatePanel (via ModalPopupExtender). The modal works OK after showing, but the problem is that when I close/hide it (using CancelControlID or a custom button with code behind) some control on the page stop firing events.

More exactly one Button and RowCommand on a GridView (both are NOT part of the UpdatePanel).

Here's the UpdatePanel code:

<asp:ToolkitScriptManager ID="ToolkitScriptManager1" runat="server"
                              EnableScriptLocalization="true" EnableScriptGlobalization="true" >
    <asp:UpdatePanel ID="up1" runat="server">
            <asp:ModalPopupExtender ID="mpe" runat="server" TargetControlId="ServerButton" PopupControlID="ModalPanel" CancelControlID="CancelButton" BackgroundCssClass="modalBackground">
            <asp:Button ID="ServerButton" runat="server" Text="Launch" style="display:none"/>

Executing SQLCommand from within UDT code

I need to obtain current @@LANGUAGE from within CLR code of user defined type. When I try to execute SqlCommand "SELECT @@LANGUAGE" on connection with current context ("context connection=true") I get error "System.InvalidOperationException: Data access is not allowed in this context.  Either the context is a function or method not marked with DataAccessKind.Read or SystemDataAccessKind.Read, is a callback to obtain data from FillRow method of a Table Valued Function, or is a UDT validation method."

Is there a way to get current sql connection langugae inside CLR code of UDT?

Help executing sql in code behind

Hi. I would appreciate some help with how to perform CRUD functions from code behind. I realise that I can simply have a datasource on my page and data bound controls but that isn't appropriate for what I am trying to do. I need to perform the CRUD functions from code behind.

First question is whether I can have a datasource control on the page that isn't bound to any controls and then use that datasource from code behind to perform CRUD actions. If so can anyone provide some code examples.

I realise that I can avoid a datasource control and create a data class (.dbml). If I then create a context object I can reference a table (eg myContext.tableName) and use linq to read data from the db table to a data object.  eg

var myDataObj = from x in myContext.tableName select x;

 However, at the moment if I want to, say, update data I need to do something like foreach (var dataItem in myDataObj) to step through the data a r

Code Optimized Web Development Profile (VS 2010 and .NET 4.0 Series)

When you first run VS 2010 it prompts you to select an IDE profile to use. The profile you select will configure how tool windows are displayed/docked in the IDE by default and set the default keyboard shortcuts. You can then customize any of these settings by using the Tools->Options menu within the IDE and then override/change them. You can also later reset your profile and pick a different one by choosing the Tools->Import and Export Settings menu command.
