I have a client that has a Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition x64 server, running SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition x64.
As we need to import data from Excel I tried to install Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=C06B8369-60DD-4B64-A44B-84B371EDE16D&displaylang=en. Unfortunately I cannot
install the x64 version.
When I try to install the x64 version I immediately get the error:
The installation of this package failed.
Without any further error indication.
Installing a 32 bit named instance of SQL Server Express is not an option here; how can I get this installation package to work?
My first thought was that maybe 32 bit Office Web Components were blocking the installation, but there are several websites that need the Microsoft Office Web Components (32 bit) which are installed, so uninstalling is not an option.
What can I do to get this package installed?
Thanks in advance!
